Why does EVERYONE seem to use the Wismex DNA200/ RX200?

Why did you send it for repair? You could just have fixed it like i did. I had to put in a RX battery sled so it does not rip them. The 510 sucks too so good move to upgrade that one as well.

It just blacked out, nothing..... And it was 29 days old...... I wanted to justify getting it fixed and not fucking with it to void the warranty.....

I'm just going to grind the little lip on the tray with my dremmel and I'm spraying the entire tray with rubber coating and installing a Varitube V2..... That's my first project.... Then I'm peeling and sanding the whole gray shit paint of and repainting the damb thing

This is EXACTLY why quoting is a REALLY good idea, since I had no idea what pic you meant, and had to go track it down to the very first page of this thread. I think you must mean the red MiniBook that I posted on the first page.

But it may be very difficult if not impossible to find anymore of them; I haven't seen any red ones since shortly after I bought that, and now I'm finding it very hard to find a white one that doesn't come with a tank that I have ZERO use for.

Yeah I get it then. If the board is toast why pay $89 on top of $170+. That is adding insult to injury! My understanding is that you know how to do good work. It just seems that way to me. You should see what imbeciles do with a Dremel LOL. On the Wismec you can install the Varitube pin, no cutting. I really do not care what the outside of the 510 looks like unless the basket was paper thin. So the pin would push right through it. I have a pretty nice metal and wood shop because I am always building and upgrading things. For all my buddies too. I guess as an EE it is just my nature to improve shit. Last night I modified a sink hose sprayer. It is like a Damn fire hose now! The nice thing is used industrial equipment is pennies on the dollar.

No I did not mean RX! I meant DNA has more control over settings. Lot's of dead DNA boards. I would not say Yihi is Third. They have features about the same as FSK and hardly ever hear of a dead board. Plus they are selling $300 mass produced Chinese mods. Someone is buying them. They might have the best 510 period on theit SX Mini series. Top notch Chinese stuff. In fact the only Chinese product I would not hesitate to recommend. I like Evolv for all the settings I can tailor to my liking. FSK and Yihi I would say is a tossup in quality and features. Since DNA boards have bit it more often They are first in features but Third in quality. I do not know if Yihi hits as hard as FSK but Powerful+ is plenty powerful. I agree fully that all the other Chinese chips are a distant Tenth. The RX is nice for the price but there is a reason the other Three cost more. Much more in fact. I would not discount Yihi though. It is top notch quality. The only thing I did not like is there video where they pulled 40 Amps plus out of 25 Amp batteries. You cannot safely do 200W with it maybe 133. These things are not idiot proof. You must use common sense. Just as I said just because a car can go very fast does not mean you should do so on public roads. Plenty of people do though. Just like they do stupid Ecig tricks. There is no stopping idiots but if you understand a mod it is fine. Them proving it can do 200W on 2x18650 was stupid quite frankly. Other than that I prefer DNA but Yihi and FSK are fine as well. I would say in their own way they could all vie for the top position. Depends on what your priorities are. There is no one fits all solution yet. Those are at the top though. I fully agree with that.

But a device that will hold large tanks, offers long battery life with 3 in place, and working temp control, the thing is a steal at $40. Now I'll check out that new firmware, although probably wait a bit for feedback from some early adopters before jumping on it to make sure it works right.

I did the updates, but then rolled both my 2/3 and 200S back to the original because I've heard issues with battery life being shortened by the updates. I don't vape over 150 watts and have no need for a custom logo so the old software is fine for me.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't even go over 75W so the 250W is meaningless. About the only feature I would be interested in would be the preheat punch. It's good to know you can roll back if it's not to your liking.

On the control issue of Evolv vs FSK I can see where you're coming from but I would not discount the amount of control Hohmtech offers its customers. While escribe does in fact offer many different types of control Hohmtech allows you to get a pretty dialed in vape without the use of a computer. To some vapers that is indeed a huge plus and to some it may even be a huge con but for the vapers that are not computer savy the FSK board is a more than viable option. Because of the 4 button configuration of the Hohmtech mods there is a bit of a learning curve but its not at all steep. The other benefit of owning a Hohmtech product is definitely the level of customer service they provide. When you call there a real person answers the phone. They're waranty work has a reasonably quick turn around time and it's done here in the USA. I had a problem with my Slice when the mod first came out. I was upset about a sticky firing button. Ben the President of Hohmtech actually got on the phone with me and handled my problem. Till this day he still drops me an email here and there to see how things are going. Try that with another company and see what happens. Since that day I have been a die hard Hohmtech supporter. I'm not saying they're perfect becuase they are from it but they listen, act, and care about their customers. In this day and age thats that's a rarity.

Price is nuts though. I really do not know what is a good mod anymore. The Wismec You have to rebuild the damn thing. I rarely go over 100W anyways. I do like big run time and swapable batteries. I am just bringing this up because as it stands, out of the box the Wismec requires improvements. I have done so and then some but It is like Frankenstein. No longer built by the manufacturer.

Yeah, Evolv is starting to only service the board. As they should quite frankly. So you have to know how to take your board out and send it to them. Or deal with the Chinese idea of CS.

The resistance bounces up and down between Vapes, sometimes .16 sometimes .18 by locking it for example on .18 there is no bouncing of ohms giving you an equal consistent Vape the same all the time.

I've emailed them at 1 AM and gotten a lucid answer. Once followed by another email with follow up info that was useful as well.
Nobody gives support like Hohmtech. Nobody.

The Modfather is the best thing I have ever invested money..... I can clean it up after months of use put it on eBay and get what I paid for it.......

Two weeks ago, I was wrestling with myself, trying to get over the fugly look of the Hohmtech, ( and I'm not normaly an asthetic conscious guy) enough to buy one, and then, I loaded some custom firmware on my RX200S that transformed it to the point that my DNA 200 Realeaux has now been donated.
