Best Cream?

Ok, I'm looking for the best cream to add to fruit flavors like Strawberry or Peaches for Strawberries and cream or peaches and cream and even to bakery flavors. I'm currently using DX Sweet Cream by TPA/TFA as my cream note but I really don't want to need things like whipped cream, fresh cream, Bavarian cream, cake batter, etc etc. I want something incredibly versatile that I can add to just about anything to add that nice creamy touch that I can use between 0.5%-2%. I'm putting in my "monthly" flavor order and I can't decide between so many different creams. Please help?

I've never had a single cream flavor that did it for me. My base I keep around for mixing (especially with fruits) contains Bavarian Cream, Fresh Cream, Marshmallow, Sweet Cream & Vanilla Custard. The real trick is finding the percentages that suit you.

Making batches of it ahead of time allows me to have it pre-steeped, for those experiments I don't want to have to wait a couple of weeks on.

Yeah, I heard the cream and custard flavors only work best when steeped.

Never really had to steep any Creams yet, except for TFA/CAP Bavarian.
I find that recipes heavier on creams taste a little better after a day or two, but custards change dramatically (at least for me) in 10-14 days.

Yep, I always leave everything sit for 24hrs minimum.
If heavy on Custard I usually have to leave them for a month to get to my liking anyway.
But at 1-2% it's normally 1-2 weeks is good.
Certain Vanillas can also benefit from a few days.

I've kinda noticed that too. I had one i made that had fruits and such and after steeping for about a month or 2, it tasted exactly like clove cigarettes. I had to dump it. I smoked cloves for a little while a very long time ago but now, I can't even stand it. Its like tobacco flavors. After i quit smoking 2 years ago, i can't stand the taste or smell of cigarettes

I get the harsh throat hit from several of my fresh made juices and I find that giving them a good day to steep they change slightly and the harshness fades

The best and versatile, to me, is Capella Sweet Cream -- it's absolutely authentic tasting, I even use it in food, and is diketone-free. However I use a mix of creams/vanilla if i want a creamy vape, because that way you don't need a lot of any particular one -- my strawberry & cream uses TFA DX Bavarian, Vanilla Swirl, and CAP Sweet Cream.

Steeping can be eliminated if you use 25% or more of flavoring -- the S&C recipe I first developed was 31% flavor; no steeping necessary, but it's a gunk MONSTER. Since my tastebuds are finally starting to awaken from their coma, I've been reducing the percentage slowly; now got it down to about 26%; with that, I do steep for a few days, and it gunks slightly less.

So, then, my question is...with that high % of flavorings, does it taste as potent as a premium e-juice you buy from a B&M? I've always wanted to make a juice that is that flavorful, but I don't like to use a lot of flavoring, mostly because I like to use the highest amount of VG and almost all flavors are based in PG. I've noticed my mixes tend to be more flavorful after a month or so of steeping, but I'm so impatient, I tend to kill a bottle in about 2 days. But, for some reason, I also end up leaving about 1ml-2ml in every bottle. I don't know why I can't seem to finish a bottle, maybe because, subconsciously, I want to test it after a few months, but I also do that when drinking water o_O Walking through my house, you'll see water bottles with a little left in the bottom. Maybe I'm just weird

The answer is, my S&C is better than any "store-bought" I've ever tasted, bar none. I tasted the Cuttwood Unicorn Milk once at a local B&M, and all I could think was "where's the strawberry? I don't taste any."

Is there actually a reason why you need to use a whole lot of VG, or just a personal bias? Because high-PG ejuice has a great deal more flavor than high-VG, and doesn't need to steep as long, if at all. Of course if you're one of the unfortunate who has a huge physical problem with PG, then I can see that would be a non-starter. There are a few brands that offer a VG line -- try WizLabs and ECX, pretty sure they have a "VG flavors" category. But if there's no physical need to avoid PG, you should try higher PG/flavoring; it does tend to cause some gunking problems if you go really high on flavors, but for GREAT flavor, you can't beat it.

As for leaving a little in the bottom... that's actually a good way to "speed steep" -- if you mix your ejuice in a bottle where there's still a little left from the last that was in it, it tends to start tasting good somewhat faster. I do that quite often, which is maybe why I need so little steeping, along with the high-flavor-percentages and high-PG. The only type of ejuice I will routinely steep for long periods are those with any type of tobacco flavoring; those just aren't very good with less than about 3 wks steeping -- with some exceptions; I did once mix a very nice Virginia which was vapable at mixing... unfortunately that was right around the same time I discovered sweet vapes, and lost all tolerance for that particular Virginia flavor -- now if I vape any tobacco flavors at all, they're the sweet pipe tobacco type, with lots of creams and sweet flavors mixed in -- but they still need lengthy steeping.

It's more of a preference. I don't believe I have a PG intolerance, I just don't like hard TH. I can't even vape 6mg nic. I'm 3 or lower, but I also can't vape 0mg for very long because I feel like I'm missing the TH. And that may be the nic. I have noticed some side-effects of feeling ill after chain vaping. I thought it might be the nic, so when I realized my old nic was actually bad because I wasn't storing it properly, I made a few juices with 0mg nic. I was hoping to debunk my ill feeling and attribute it to the nic, but that wasn't the case. I still had the feeling with excessive vaping. So to be honest, I don't know if it's a PG thing. I have the ability to test that theory, because I have 100% VG based flavors on hand from my DIY starter kit. I'm just a tad lazy and don't feel like making any juice right now lol. And after saying that, I realize that my sick feeling could also be completely unrelated to vaping because I'm not the healthiest person. I have many GI issues that I've had prior to switching to vaping. But I also don't want to rule out your suggestion. I could try a 70/30 or 60/40 mix as well as a 100% VG mix and see what happens.

I know what you mean; I have IBS and gallstones, so if my tummy doesn't feel well... well, it's a toss-up, as to why. :D I can also relate to procrastination and lack of motivation to mix a whole bunch of stuff; I've got some flavors that I've had for MONTHS and I haven't even tried yet. :giggle:

TH is *mostly* from nicotine, but the proportion of PG vs. VG does have some effect on it; best I can offer is just try different ratios with the 3mg, see what you can live with, as to flavor vs. TH. Me, I have to add a bunch of Flash to get my S&C to punch me in the throat hard enough, it's so creamy, and I'm currently mixing at 3.4mg, on my way to 3mg, but taking my time getting there. :)

If you have any interest, this is the recipe -- both the original, and the latest iteration, in which I've brough the percentages down consderably. You appear to have been smoke-free very close to the same amount of time I have, so you might prefer the latest one, which comes in right around 26% flavoring, and is still a really intense flavor; som gunking, but nothing like it was when it was 31% flavor.

Yeah, I noticed you quit just about 2 months before I did ^_^ Congrats! I just put in my latest order ($70 to get the free shipping O_O) but I have all those flavors except they're from different companies. Thank you for the recipe!

If it's not made with shisha strawberry, it won't be anything like mine, guarantee it -- the other strawberries I've tried smell pretty good, and have zero taste.

I'll have to get that on my next order. I got the Red Touch strawberry by FA because it had really good reviews. I'll have to try it when I get it.

Thanks for sharing this recipe.
Naturally, I don't have a single one of these ingredients (except for some e.maltose sweetener.)
But, you made it sound so good, I'll have to shop.

I really don't think there's one that does it all. If you mix long enough, you'll probably end up with all those different creams anyway.

Lol, yup, after 2+ years I think I have most of them now.

TFA Dairy Milk works for me 90% of the time, unless I'm trying out a recipe as posted first.
Even then sometimes I sub out the Creams with the above if they're using any FA Creams.
Only because I think they're too dry tasting and not sweet enough.
But when I first started DIY I was using all the others myself as they were the most commonly used in so many recipes, including my own.
And for the most part, they will work just fine.

Yeah, I already have liquid barns cream and fresh cream, TFA bavarian cream, TFA DX Sweet cream, FW Bavarian cream and I'm waiting on FA Fresh cream, FA Catalan cream, Vienna cream and I may just get whipped cream and a bigger bottle of sweet cream. I add a cream element to just about everything I make.

Favorite cream is TFA Whipped cream by far. It's versatile and requires little steep time. Every other cream I've used needs to steep at least a few days. One on One cream is ok if you're looking for more of a milky cream.
