OBS Engine RTA

As a bit of background, I have the Boreas, the Supreme, the Smok TF-RDTA... well, just about every RTA produced in the past six months (still waiting on the Sapor, and the Dotmod...). I know my tanks!

When I saw the Engine, I initially thought no. Every tank I've tried with top only air ends up behaving like a straw for hot juice... blecchhhhh. However, I was given an Engine, and I gotta say I am uber impressed. It does flood a bit when filling, a few pulls later, things smooth out. Outside of filling, I've had no spitback. Filling is the same as the OBS Crius and Crius Plus (slide up cap top side fill port). I am beginning to think the only way to make it leak is by holding it upside down with the fill port open. Some 35 ml through the tank and not a drop in the mod.

I'll second Shawn on this tank. I've had it a few days and it's become my go to tank. Excellent flavor, easy to build, and the top airflow system works really well. I put my Crius Plus back in the box and stuck it in my drawer for my backup stash

Hello Guys,
I too own one. Love everything about it except I'm really struggling to get much flavor out of it. I've tried a few different builds now but it's always muted. Do you care to share your builds or any flavor tips on this one?

That's wierd. To me, with even just a basic build (as the two I've listed), flavor is intense. What build are you using, and what flavor?

Thanks for the quick reply. Initially I tried a dual staggered fused clapton ss316 but the tank heated up way too much and was destroying the juice and temp control didn't like this build. I have since tried a couple of micro coil builds. One with SS 317 and one with SS316. These latter 2 builds I have used in both TC and wattage but only get a muted flavor. All 3 builds were horizontal. Can you post pics or explain where your coil placement is at? Perhaps I'm too high, too low or too close to the posts. The other possibility here that I can think of is that perhaps this tanks prefers higher wattage vapes and I prefer to stay in the 30-50 range (not counting preheat).

Also, you said that you posted two builds but I somehow am not seeing those.

Thanks

Ive been on RDAs for what seems like forever now, building my own coils, but im trying to transition out of it because i spend so many hours a week always rebuilding for all my attys and rewicking every few days and not just for myself but for some friends as well. Last week I went into the local vape shop here to check out some tanks and bottom feed RTAs, worker there showed me a aspire cleito 120 tank, and let me tried one out with juice, it was good so i bought one. Few days later a buddy showed me his obs engine, I WAS SO PISSED i should have got one of those, but he told me the down side was that sometimes he has no choice but to leave his mod in the car while he goes into meetings or work and when its sitting hot in there, juice tends to flood the middle chambers, and when he comes out and take a draw, he is suckin in hot burning juice in this month like a straw.

I was wondering if any of you guys have experience that problem with the obs engine? I dont normally leave my mods in cars anyways but im thinking if i wicked it incorrectly or didnt add enough cotton i might flood the chamber?

My guess is that the wicking is a little light compounded with the juice being heated up in the car and thinning. In this scenario you could hit the fire button until the gurgling and popping stopped before taking a hit.

I have a bit of flooding when I fill. After a few gentle draws, it's gone.
