Hi VU im new to this forum and im hoping you guys can give me an advice on DIYing Ejuice.

i have these flavor cons and i need some idea's on what flavor combination i can make, these are locally made flavor cons. ill give an idea of how i taste it with a sample recipe i made out of the 10 mixes i made im only able to make 3 good flavor combination.

(sadly in my country (Philippines) its hard to get a good US made flavor cons like CAP TFA LA etc if anyone know where i can buy it here please do tell me it will be a big help)

this are the flavor cons i have right now

-Green Apple
-Melon
-Grapes
-Lemon
-Strawberry
-Coffee
-Chocolate
-Glazed Donuts
-Cotton Candy
-Custard
-Vanilla
-Graham Crackers
-Marlboro Red

[Enhancers]
-Sweetener
-Menthol
-Tart and Sour
-Nicotine 100mg (10ml)

im not really a person who's picky on a flavor. i usually vape a lot of different pre-made ejuices

i steeped it for 5days inside a Box (i dont know if this is the thing im doing wrong) in a cool room

only good recipe i made so far that i can share is

[Melon Iced Candy]
60/40 pg on a 10ml bottle

VG - 60 %
PG - 20 %
Melon - 8%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Menthol - 4%
Sweetener - 3%

this is my 3rd time remaking this recipe first at 3% the melon taste is weak cant hardly feel it. next at 5% the feeling is there but i cant really taste it yet only the cool and sweet part, at 8% that's where the taste is finally good for me. been doing a 5 days steep each try.

please teach me how to improve my DIY skills. im really having fun with it :) thanks in advance to everyone that can share their ideas.

Hi Piff, I'm in the Philippines too. You can buy flavors from https://juicesir.com/ I have bought a lot of flavors from him. He's legit and he delivers the next day anywhere in the Phils. Your recipe.. I think you have way to much em and sweetener. Cotton candy is really a sweetener called E.M if you use to much it dulls the flavor, so does sucralose. Your recipe has 8% sweetener and 12% flavor. You listed your flavors but didn't mention the company, list the company and it would be more helpful. Do your self a favor and get some Vanilla custard by Capella's from juice sir. That stuff will add deep full flavor that will blow your mind. mabuhay

Hi thanks for your reply timmer! do he have a minimum order count? thanks for the info about cotton candy. i dont really know if its a company or they are just repackaging the flavor cons ill send you a PM on where i got my flavor cons, can i send you a PM or can i add you in Facebook? i'm just self studying about DIY and having a hardtime finding the questions in my head.

EDIT:
how much % on sweetener should i try for my sample recipe?

The Cotton Candy is the same thing as EM and can actually cause flavors to fade.
Sweetener can also cause fading to some extent.
Try with Cotton Candy & Sweetener at 1% each, or less.
May need to lower the Menthol a bit too.
You will probably need to lower the main flavor back to 5%.

Your very welcome. I don't think sirjuice has a min. order. I order 10 mils bottles from him all the time. If you tell me what kind of flavor your wanting, maybe I could help. The best of the best to me and to many is Capella's vanilla custard, It has such a deep full flavor. I use it in all my mixes, you can mix it from1 or 2% all the way up to 10, you can't make a bad mix with this, it always taste amazing. Flavors I found from sir juice that work great for me. Cinnamon danish swirl.(capella's) Apple pie, double apple, fuji apple. Flavor art butterscotch. Key lime, lemon sicily. Capella's cake batter. caramel original. I usually go for sweet desserts, that's my taste. I am working on some strawberries and mangos. My goal is to make a mango float, lol. So it's up to your taste, let me know I can tell you the ones that are good and not so good. Where in the Phils are you? Dumaguete here.

I run 70PG/30VG myself, PG seems to carry the flavor better for me.
But some will disagree.

Total flavoring is another "can of worms" so to speak.
Depends on the brand, the flavor, and your taste buds.
Not to mention, equipment, build, wattage, etc.
By looking at recipes you can get an idea of the different amounts used, but they're just starting points for you.
You may need to tweak them up or down to suit your own tastes.

If you have certain flavors we can recommend starting points.
Same with recipe concepts or ideas of things you'd like to make from scratch.

Hi Piff. I think Capella's NY chessecake is very good. I've mixed a few batches at low % it does take a long steep, like 4 weeks. I've never mixed it as a single flavor but I will today just to see. Hebob said he mixes 70 pg, I mix at 50 but I'm going to try 70 to see. Hebob do you notice more throat hit at that level? and did you notice a big increase in flavor at 70 compared to 50?

and Piff hebob is right about your equipt. What are you vaping with? A few years ago I only dripped then found some tanks, drippers do have a lot more flavor but I hate to drip. I have a geek vape griffin 24 and thought that was great then I found a geek vape avocado and that is the only tank I use, to me it's amazing, now I see they are coming out with a avocado with bottom airflow and wonder if that could even be better.

hi heabob and timmer.
when you say 70% PG, is it like 20% total flavor cons PG base and 50% PG for example? right now im using a coil build with .15ohm resistance runing at 95watts im adjusted to vaping on this settings. im using an rx200s and mad hatter v2 attomizer and using a .70 kanthal 7loops.
i got an unused pharaoh RDA by digiflavor here that got a bottom airflow. i dont know yet if bottom airflow increase flavor when vaped.

maybe i need to ask also what kind of build do you guys use for diy-ejuice taste testing?

Hi Piff, are you ordering with juicesir? You have some good flavors. I use caps vanilla custard v1, that changed diy for me, stuff is great. I hear good things about v2 and it's better for you. I have lemon lime, it's kinda flat, if you want a sharp lime flavor Keylime to me is amazing. Lemon sicily is really good to. To me it has a lot more flavor then lemon lime. Your list is good, I have all the flavors you have except for the bubble gum. With what you have you can make some great juice. I made a key lime cheese cake, it was great. I made 200 mils and I vaped it all. Now I'm loving apple, like an apple cheese cake, apple pie. Fuji apple and double apple by capella's are good. cinnamon danish swirl by caps is really good, and apple pie. I am loving the taste of the apple and slight cinnamon, with some vanilla custard. lol, I talk to much, congrats on your order, you picked well, let me know how it goes.

Just to chime in, maybe try this with what you have.

4.5% - Strawberry
2.5% - Melon
(1.5%) - Menthol <--- In case your a menthol smoker.

See if that plays out, could also sub in the Tar and Sour at 1.5% for a kick.

Hope this helps and doesn't taste like ass.

I'd skip the regular TFA Strawberry as it was chemical tasting to me.
CAP Sweet Strawberry is a better mix with TFA Strawberry Ripe anyway.
But INW Shisha Strawberry all alone at 2% is even better than the 2 above IMO.

Vanilla Custard v2 was a fail, only ever used in 1 recipe that was good, "Jason's White Coconut Cake".
(Doesn't really even taste like Custard to me).

Many of the so called Bubblegum flavors weren't even close, including the TFA.
INW Yummy Classic Bubblegum is pretty good tho, and I mix it with the INW Yummy Classic Blue Dwarf.
Altered Version of Willbo's "Screwball", I call it Bubblegum Ice Cream.
TFA/CAP VBIC 4% + 2% INW YC Bubblegum + 2% INW YC Blue Dwarf + 2% TFA Dairy Milk + 2 drops sweetener in 15ml.
Original here:http://vapingunderground.com/threads/screwball.244233/

Vanilla Swirl is a decent one but I always mix in some Sweet Cream with it.

CAP NY Cheesecake is good but kinda overpowering, I like to mix it with TFA Cheesecake Graham.

Not sure about CAP Lemon Lime but my fear would be too much Lime after steeping.
Maybe by mixing (ECX)FE Lemon with FA Lime CP, the lemon fading would be nada.
The FA Lime CP does fade some also, but it's more predictable and controllable I think.
INW Lemon Cake is worth mention, pretty accurate flavor, and good, simple, stand alone at 3%.

CAP VBIC is da bomb, but I also really like, and use, TFA VBIC even tho it does have some baddies.

Sorry for the long winded speal.

Well I'm still using an old PT-2 type Anyvape Davide with a Kanger Airflow controller.
Only 8 watts on a 1.8ohm compressed coil, lol, hence the 70PG/30VG.
Tiny coils and smaller wicks work well with higher PG, think I've used up to 50/50 without issue.
Just prefer MTL with slightly less airflow, tried sub-ohm and DL but it just didn't "float my boat".
Got a Joyetech Tron-S with a 1 ohm CLR coil on an RX200 that works good too with the air dialed down.
Rebuilding these are just so easy, and a simple design.

Oh, and bottom airflow has better flavor IMO.

Forgot: Sub-Ohm setups have bigger juice channels and bigger wicks to help flow high VG better.
so higher PG mixes will probably leak, and/or flood out more.
Drippers would not really matter so much.

However TH may be stronger when using more PG with higher watts + DL.

Forgot some have trouble getting things in other countries.

But you might get them from here:http://e-aromashop.com/

Says they ship worldwide...

Several people here order from them without any issues...

Well worth trying anyway, quite a few good flavors.
Biscuit, YC Cherimoya, Shisha Strawberry, Shisha Vanilla
YC Bubblegum, YC Blue Dwarf, Pinacolada, & Coconut Cookies.
Mango and Peach too.

Hi all, Hebob you didn't like caps vanilla custard? I love the stuff, I have the v1, I don't know how you can make a bad mix with caps vanilla custard. It's that good to me. Thanks on the raspberry tip, I will try it. I mixed a lot of strawberries today, caps sweet, ripe, tfa, fa. even have shisha, I didn't get what I was looking for with any of the strawberries. I thought about it and why. I want a bright taste to it, I'm getting a dull background strawberry, it's good but I want to bring the flavor to the top. I'm thinking about adding a touch of some pear and kiwi, peach, lime, sour and maybe some menthol with some sweetener. I like a touch of menthol in everything, seems to brighten the flavors up for me,gives a refreshing exhale. so maybe start treating strawberry this way. I am in the same situation as pifffboy Im in the Philippines, the shipping cost so much or they don't ship here at all. the site you sent him isn't in English and google won't translate it. In July I was in the states and picked up a lot of juice from Bullcity, they are great to me but they don't ship. So tomorrow back to the strawberry's, also mango and peach, I'll get there with tips like yours and others, thanks.

Oh yes, but only the V1, and I use way less than most I've seen in Custard recipes.
Think it's usually around 2%.

the site you sent him isn't in English and google won't translate it.

At the top left of the home page just click on the flag to the right side, it's English.

i got a question and i'm new to this notes.
what/how do i make this notes?

top note , back notes , base notes? in doing the mixes. i get the idea when i try out different ejuices. like having a chocolate flavor on the inhale then spearmint on the exhale but how do they do it? is it the way of putting the flavor cons one by one?

Well you just said it right there, "notes" are just a fancy way of saying tastes on inhale, exhale, and things that compliment each other. To create notes you have to test and alter the %'s multiple times. Fluctuations in the % can create a more powerful inhale flavor, or possibly make a flavor turn from an exhale to a compliment because it isn't overpowering another. Hope my answer helps a little bit.

Also you asked about what types of builds people test flavors on. Now this is only me, but I build my atty's differently when testing so I can test the flavor on multiple builds to see if anything changes in the flavor. Only reason I test on multiple builds is to pinpoint the %'s down, since I like to switch things up and don't just use one type of coil build or atty. So mix it up when building to test flavors, you might find some taste better than others.

Remember though, always make a journal on what you are doing, the %'s, what it was tested on, date of testing and of liquid, and the flavors you get. Test your mix every 3 days to make sure you don't miss anything. <---This may be overkill, but I like to keep things locked down.

Again, hope this all helps, and if anyone wants to clarify or correct me if I misspoke, please do. :D

Also keep in mind that sometimes those "notes" may change somewhat from steeping time.

And other "notes" are more like "feel" rather than taste.
Some flavors added in small amounts you really can't taste, but they create body, mouthfeel, fluff, sweetness, tartness, baked effect, etc.
Like 0.5% FA Coconut, 0.5% FA Marshmallow, & 0.5% FA Meringue, & 0.5-1% TFA Brown Sugar to name a few.
