TFV4 Micro RBA-any good?

Hi everyone.

Yesterday I received a SMOK H-Priv kit to add to the collection, and it come included with a Micro TFV4. I have the TFV4 mini, and did not think I would go much on it, but to my surprise it is a rather nice tank using the pre installed fused clapton coil.

I am really impressed with the flavour of the tank, and want to keep using it.

Due to enjoying the tank, and also liking the size of it, and also matching this mod well with the same colours, I was thinking about buying the RBA for it, as I prefer RTA's or tanks with RBA's to prebuilt coils.

I don't plan on anything mad- I am running the 0.3 coil at 42W, which is around the top end of my ADV usage-I do occasionally go higher, but for all day I am usually at 40W and under.

So, is the RBA any good for this tank? I will only want to run a single coil in it, so if anyone has the RBA for this tank it would be great to hear your opinions, as my tank collection is getting so big I don't want to add anything to it if it does not perform well.

Thanks to everyone that can help, Conan.

 I have it & have only used the RBA it performs pretty well as long as it's wicked properly no leaks. Flavor & vapor production is decent.
Fantastic to hear that :)! I will have to grab one for it then, am quite surprised how small the H-Priv actually is for a box mod, compared to the Xcube 2 is is a nice size, I have small hands and it is comfortable. The TFV4 Micro pairs really well with it so glad I will be able to continue to use it with the RBA.

@conanthewarrior did you see my post re Serpent Mini 25mm?
No I don't think I did I must of missed that one, what was it? I think I mentioned something about glass for the serpent mini earlier, was it to do with that?

It is surprising that the H-Priv is small I thought it looked larger on vids. Glad you are getting on with it!

The Serpent Mini 25mm you asked me to update you on it once I received. It is fantastic! I'm using the single coil deck option & the flavor & vapor production is stellar!

Yes I was surprised myself- I really wanted the SMOK Alien, but there was no stock so the H-Priv was sent instead, compared to the Xcube 2 it is a lot smaller, and feels far more comfortable to hold, here is a comparison to the Xcube 2 and TFV4 mini-

. Thanks, I really like it, for quite a while I didn't rate SMOK mods that highly due to their TC, since the Primus though they seem to have really improved which is good.

Oh yes! I completely forgot about that, apologies for that. Glad to hear it is very nice with the single coil deck, it is tempting.

A small deck is not too big of a problem, I was more worried about wicking and performance if I am honest. I do have lots of other tanks, but think the TFV4 micro is a nice match with the H-priv so want to continue using it if i can :).

I like the way that H-priv looks but again 2 batteries with 220w ... ill have my questionmarks if i compare lets say 130w on my RX200 and 130w on the H-priv from my friend it feels really underpowered.

Couldnt vape the tcf4 micro rba higher than 60-65w or i would get dryhits, less wick and it went leaking on me.
Adviced him to just buy an Rda no problems ever since .

Also there is a new H-priv coming or maybe its already there the G-priv 220w with touchscreen.

Oh no questions there- I don't expect 220W from this mod, no way lol. It is my 27th regulated mod (I think)- among them I own many that can output a genuine power, I don't tend to vape at very high power though- usually I am under 40W, but I do sometimes like to go a bit mad, and that would be 100W or so.

I didn't pay for this mod- it was sent for review from gearbest, I am going to test its TC capabilities today. I hope it is better than older SMOK devices, it seems to be so far, but I need to try all materials.

I am using the included 0.3 Ohm coil at 42W, so if the RBA works up to 60W that is really good (For me anyway).

If you do want to go very high powered though, RDA's are the way to go- I have a few set up with 'Mad builds' myself for when I fancy a higher powered blast :).

It puts out enough power for the most of us, just isnt that accurate ;)
Overall its a nice device with the intergrated fire button

Yeah I know what you mean, I was hoping TC would be a lot better on this than older SMOK mods, Ti seemed to work well but SS was going hot/cold, not very smooth.

I do like the design too though, it is actually only slightly smaller than the Xcube 2 according to its measurements, but side by side it looks like a big difference in size, and also feels a lot smaller.

FWIW DJSL did a review of the alien (220 watts on 2 18650 batteries) and it did indeed put out 220 watts. I think 221.9 was the max it put out for him which is pretty impressive

Then why that H-priv feels underpowered at example 130w compared to the Rx200 ?

Maybe the hpriv doesn't? Or maybe your batteries can't keep up? Maybe you had a low preheat on the hpriv? Could be a number of things

Pre heat is on max or high, maybe the H-priv delivers a 220w with full batteries only ?
Its not my mod its from a friend, he has those LG HG2 20A 3000mah batteries.

Doesnt really matter anyways it does provide enough power for him.

I will have to watch that, as I like the looks of the alien.

The H-Priv is well enough for my needs though, and if I wanted to go higher and it can't output 220W, I could always use something else, but I really doubt I would ever go that high.

I tend to use 25R's or HE4's most of the time, and like to try and stick within my batteries CDR, so ideally 125W would be about the max of a dual 18650 device with the batteries I use, and this would be with great efficiency.

Even with something like LG HB4's it is over their CDR at 220W-I know there is the argument we pulse our batteries and are not constantly discharging them though.

Exactly same for my mate ;)
