Temreture Control issue

I have an issue that I can’t fix since buying my DNA200 Boxer 133 mod.

Temp Control hits quickly and the vape is cold.

My setup is:

Boxer DNA200 133
SS316l CSV from steam engine
Tank: Serpent mini 25
SS316l AWG 26 6 wraps spaced 0.42ohm

I vape at 410F 25W

I have tried several csv files with no luck, however the same setup is working fine on Yihi.

What do your think is a setting problem or a build issue?

Hi there!

Check your preheat settings in escribe. Most defaults are at either 55\75w. With that setting, the coils tend to reach max temp right away. Just set it accordingly or turn it off altogether.

Hope this helps!

Hello :).

I have found since the SP3 update, it is best to use the included SS 316 profile, before this SS was very temperamental, and seemed to pick and choose if it would work or not.

Since the update, SS 316L is nice and smooth, and I am very impressed with performance.

I use 26G SS 316L too, and find best results with my Griffin with 2.5MM dual coils at around 0.25. Temperature I enjoy around 220--240C, and I find cold vapour is a problem if the mod does not read the resistance correctly-ensure your coils are at room temperature, I would take off the tank, allow it to settle for a while, then fire the device with the tank off, then put the tank on and choose new coil.

Depending on tanks, I have found sometimes locking resistance is necessary, but more often than not this is not needed with a solid connection, ensure your coil is tightened down properly so the resistance is read correctly by your mod.

I find preheat to work well now, before SP3 it seemed to only work well when off, I now have it set to around 50-60W depending on device for 1 second with punch around 5.

Give the standard Escribe SS 316 setting a go- I was very happy to discover how well it worked.

If preheat (encircled in the pic below) is set to 1w, then your mod is firing 1w of power for one whole sec.

Im not too sure about what punch time is but im assuming that is the amt of time (in seconds) the mod will fire your preheat time for. *** Someone please correct me if im wrong there. ***

I guess if all else fails, reset to evolv's default settings. I never loaded any .csv files on my mod to keep it running the way evolv intended it to. I just edited the default setup of my mod. The only time i would probably mess around with .csv files is when im not getting the vape that i want for a particular atty.

But as conan said, evolvs default settings/profiles work like a charm, all you really have to edit is the materials you intend to use and make sure the preheat is dialed back as that was my problem also when i first got my dna device.

That's what i would do to troubleshoot it first and foremost. You can save your current settings first before reverting back to evolv's defaults.

EDIT:
I just re-read your first post. We almost have the same build, rta and vaping style.

I use the serpent mini 22. Build is 26mm 26g ss316, 3mm diameter, 8 wraps spaced at .58ohms.

I also vape at 20-23w at 485-525f.

No problems with evolvs default setting apart from the 75w preheat which i dialed back to 20w. Also, raise your temp to mybe around 500-520f and see if that helps.

The punch determines when the preheat function will stop working, either 1 second as a maximum you have set, or to a temperature around your set temperature- the lower the punch, the faster preheat stops to function, and vice versa.

I can't take credit for this part, this was from the Evolv forums-" The Preheat punch setting runs from 0 = 160°F to 11 = 10°F under the set temperature"

Also I would do as @HaileStorm suggested, and raise your temperature a bit. Evolv devices always seem to run cooler than Yihi ones, this is due to the way they handle temp control.

I realise it is the serpent mini 25 you are using, I gather single coil though due to the resistance and number of wraps? 25W seems like a perfectly good power setting to be using for your set up, I have the 22 and 25W is enough,

I think it could well be a case of just raising the temperature to a level you enjoy on the DNA 133, I wouldn't worry about it being higher than on a Yihi device as long as it works well :).
