Hey guys,

So I just recently moved from pen style to Box mods and tanks combo for vaping. I purchased a single LG Gh2 18650 battery but I kind of realized it was fake cause it wasn't even charging properly. I don't have the money atm to purchase a battery charger and a couple of extra batteries so I use the on board USB slot to charge it. I purchased a new LG Gh2 battery and it seems better although I have a few questions about it:

1. How long would it take to charge a drained or 'Weak Battery' to full using the USB slot.
2. Sometimes it charges to full within an hour? Then it drains out pretty quick if I blow steam at 60W. I generally vape at 45W but I want to test how far the battery can go.
3. Will the battery still be charging even though the LED screen on the mod flashes the idicator of battery full?

It sounds like you may have bought some fake HG2's. You never want to push fake batteries. Never ever ever.

1. Charge time will always depend on how much the battery can hold and how much it has been drained. A real HG2 that is drained low will take several hours to charge in the mod.
2. All single battery mods will drain quickly if you run them at 60 watts. At 45 watts you may deplete 2-4 good batteries a day depending on how often you vape. Running a counterfeit battery at 60 watts is usually asking for trouble.
3. Not sure about this one. I have 2 VTC Minis but always charge batteries in a separate charger.

The one I purchased again doesn't look fake. It took me about 4-5 hours for a charge to 90% while occasionally taking it out from the charger and vaping and putting it back in. I just switch to vaping at around 60W sometimes depending on how much flavor I want atm but with 45W I seem to be running the entire day easily. Not Vaping every 10-15 seconds.

Charge time will also depend on the mod. Some just... do better than others, running at higher amperage safely (though I think most are 1 amp). If I were you, get yourself a nice long USB cord and vape-and-charge whenever you can. I do it with my IPV D3, which is meant to be a convenient pocket vape, but i always keep the charging cable in the car.

If you need to stay mobile, those little power banks work nicely, if not a bit slowly. It also can't hurt to have a second batt pre-charged while you use the one you've got. Also consider the coils you're using. Maybe going with a slightly higher-resistance coil will allow you to use less wattage while not drastically changing the vaping experience.

You'll be fine, plenty of cheap options to solve the problem. Best of luck :).

It can take 5 or 6 hours for it to go from "weak battery" state to fully charged in the VTC Mini. It will charge to almost full, then the battery indicator will flash the full battery sign on and off. The mod then lowers the charge current and finishes the charge, at which time the battery indicator will go off completely and the display will be blank.
I would definitely invest in an external charger and legit batteries as soon as your funds allow. There are many reputable battery vendors listed here on the site. The one I primarily use is RTDvapor.com
Good luck.

Hmm, I charged the battery last night and it blinked and like you said, turned off when the battery was full. Woke up today morning, couldn't even take more than 50 puffs at 50W before it drained out? Are the batteries suppose to drain that quickly? Running a 0.5 Crown Coil at 50W with 5.14V

Not even close. You've either got a faulty mod or a faulty battery. My LG HG2 in my mini vaping on a .7 at 22 watts will last me the day, more or less.
It would help if you could post pics of the battery and such.
I'm going to guess battery is either faulty, old, or not genuine. Even our favorite vendors can be taken in and sold fakes, rewraps, or rejected stock.
They are after all looking for the best deal they can get too.

Hmm, if it's the battery then that just sucks balls. I went to my vendor and he replaced the fake with the authentic one, and this also turned out to be fake. I doubt the mod is faulty because it's performing quite well. If I get the Nitecore d2 charger, will it show the max mAh on the battery that it's charging? I know some of the chargers do show the maximum charged mAh on batteries. That way I can check if the battery is fake or authentic too. It could also be the mod isn't charging the battery the way it should be?

Also while at it, any recommended website where I can purchase 2x LG hg2 batteries? I don't want to purchase from any random website or vendors anymore. I've invested way too much in vaping already. I live in Dubai so anyone who would do International Shipping also.
