Looking for some recommendations from experienced builders. I am currently vaping sub ohm with a tank but would like to get into building my own coils and to try the drip method. What is a good starter deck and building kit for someone just getting into it?

Most anything with a Velocity deck will work just fine for learning. If you're looking at RDAs, avoid those with bottom air until you've got your wicking and dripping down...

As for build kit, I started with a great kit by UD on vapordna for $55. Has everything you'll need.

I hadn't looked at the UD kit. I've got the Coil Master V3 kit and really enjoy it. However, it's a lot cheaper to grab a set of screwdrivers and a set of flush cuts from Wally World, and upgrade later.

Any RDA with a Velocity style deck would be relatively easy easy to start with.
Not recommending anything specific since I don't know you vaping preference and your budget.

I'd suggest you buy a few spools of kanthal, maybe 24AWG and 26AWG to start with and start building simple coils.
Once your proficient with building coils in general get another thinner wire 32AWG to start with and start making simple claptons, then advance from there.

Can't recommend any specific jig since I don't use them and build everything by hand, for building claptons you will require a power drill.

Yes but it's good to get a quality ohm meter like the cm & gv tabs that come in the kits.
RDA's have come a long way since I started building on an igo w. I personally love my tugboat v2 for less complex builds. Just sold an original twisted messes to a buddy. That was a great rda. But better for bigger builds.

Not yet, but watching several videos, it seems to be working well. I'll see in the near future, when I receive my thinner SS316L wire.
