Electronic liquid shaker/mixer.

Hello.

I am an electronics enthusiast and after having mixed and experimented with flavors for e-liquids I came to the conclusion that due to the technical knowledge I possess and more importantly the access to new knowledge that I have through the world wide web I really should invest some time into building some sort of automatic shaker/mixer.

I have seen a few links online regarding something like that that has already been implemented by many people but I can't remember what they called it, thus I am writing this thread.

But it isn't the sole reason to why I am creating this thread, I also want to talk about the act of shaking/mixing the juice once flavors has been added.

Is there a point in getting air worked into the liquid?
I wonder because some people online makes it sound as it is vital to create lots of bubbles in the bland when it is first made, but they do not say whether this is simply a mean of detecting that the liquid has been well blended or if there are any other reason.
I don't see any other reason why we would want more contact with air than is absolutely necessary since air makes the nicotine behave in some manner which I don't remember, it isn't good anyway.

When I first thought about a electronic shaker/mixing I started thinking of those mixers stores selling paint for houses and alike, when you buy a bucket of paint they place the bucket into a machine that shakes the bucket up and down furiously to mix the different components in the paint.
And I thought it would be just great if I had a machine like that with some sort of mechanism that could hold many different kinds of bottles.

I don't know much about motors but before I get into that I want to find out if such a machine would be any better than those designs that already exists.

Of what machines meant for this purpose do you know of?

Regards

I've read that somebody tapes their bottles to a sawzall reciprocating saw blade... So maybe just a bottle holder that will chuck into a saw.
I shake my mixes by hand. If it has creams/custards I may put it in a warm bath and shake by hand a little more. If it has higher than 10% flavoring with cr/cust, I'll let it set over night with the top off also.

I purchased one of these a year ago and it works great for steeping E-Liquids.

Do a Google Search using

New Stainless Steel 2 L Liter Industry Heated Ultrasonic Cleaner Heater w/Timer

And you will find them selling for $60 or less.

I was just looking at that one the other day (nice features for the money). I have it saved to my wish list for later purchase.

Yeah, have been wanting a USC for steeping and atty deep cleaning for a while now. That unit looks to have everything I'm looking for and it's under $100 which is a real bonus.

I got one of the multi tool sets, with one charger/battery from Harbor Freight that had drill, light, saber saw and a detail sander with a velcro pad to hold the sandpaper....So I took some velcro wrapped a bottle of juice and stuck it to the pad,it shook it up REAL good!....Z

I think a heated ultrasonic cleaner is probably the fastest way to steep. The heat and ultrasonic waves both speed up all the chemical reactions taking place. Shaking or stirring is good, but only gets you so far if your goal is to speed things up.

several DIY's using a salvaged pc fan .. more of a vibratory shaker/mixer .. been thinking along the lines of something like the paint nail polish shaker (a DIY ver) as well as something that will mix up like 6-10 flavor bottles .. haven't actually gotten there yet .. but will post if I ever do. :giggle:

I got a dual drum rotary rock tumbler. line the drums with a cloth and place your bottles of juice in side. and let it shake them for a bit.

IMO the bubbles are just a visual indicator. I would think that extreme overbubbling (shaking for days or whatever) would in some small way contribute to nic oxidation.

i use a small coffee frother for small batches,,, (rarely) but use this mixer for all of my bigger batches (500ml's x 3),,,,,,,,it whips the ejuice into a foam in about a minute- making it easier imho for the flavors to marry. it doesnt take long for it to return to a liquid state. i do not put my nic in the recipe as it likely wont hold up well. i vape 0 nic most of the time so my nic is added to my finished ejuice as wanted. amazon $33 i got mine on sale while back $26
