This RDA is OK to use with a standard 510 on a mech yes?

Hi everyone.

Today I got a new Wotofo Phantom mech, and also a Wotofo Lush RDA to go with it. I mainly vape regulated but do enjoy mechs from time to time.

The positive pin on the 510 is completely flush on the RDA though, so I know I can not use this with a Hybrid style top cap. The phantom comes with both a standard 510, and a hybrid style cap, I will be using the standard 510.

I am 99% certain this is completely fine to use, but even that 1% doubt is enough to make me double check. I would always rather be safe than sorry. I am almost certain it is fine to use tanks and RDA's like this with a standard 510. I just really want clarification to ease my mind before I use it.

Here are some pictures of the 510 to show you what I mean.

Sorry this one is blurry, but it gives you a better idea how flush the pin actually is-

Thank you all that help me, and have helped me understand things over my time here.

I'm not an expert, we'll have to wait for them to chime in. But from what I know & have been using, having the 510 top not hybrid is totally fine. That's why when choosing a mech I always choose one with the 510 adapter (or whatever you call it). Let's see what the seasoned mech user says.

Thank you for your reply @Heartsdelight .
I am also pretty certain with the 510 adapter it will be fine, but like you hope soon a seasoned mech user can clarify it is OK. It will be handy for the both of us to know 100% for future reference.

As long as you using the 510 top and not the hybrid for it you'll be fine it's just making sure that the pin from the 510 and the pin from the RDA make contact. With the hybrid it would not and could cause a hard short, which you do not want to happen

Thank you for your help- I am glad this is correct, as I was slightly worried just in case.

I understand not to use the Hybrid top cap with an atty like this, and was pretty sure a standard 510 was fine, but still wanted to be certain. I would rather be safe than sorry.
Got to say, I am very impressed with the Phantom and Lush RDA.

The button is a little hard for my liking, so will change the spring, but at 0.3 Ohms it is performing very well. I still am using a fairly fresh, fully charged battery, so may need to change the build to perform as I like across the voltage range of the battery, but so far this seems good enough.

If the pin doesn't protrude Past the 510 threads I don't use the atty in ANY mod.. I never really understood the Hybrid fear/hype....... Leaky juice was always my concern with those. But a bad 510 connection is an issue regardless the type of 510 on the mod. If the pin on the atty doesn't stick out there is more potential for shorts.. PERIOD......

Look at the +ve pin on the mod, it should have a raised centre. But if you are unsure, dismantle the atty and file off a bit of the 510 threading so the centre post will stick out. Its common practice if you use hybrids at all just to take a bit off the 510 threading on the atomiser and be sure you got clearance, only takes a few minutes.

Ahh.

Thank you for your reply. Not the reply I was hoping for- but still helpful and good advice for me. A bit of a shame this RDA come like this, I must of been very lucky in the past, out of about 20 or so RDA's this is the only one I have that is completely flush like this. I only bought it as I didn't have a white one and wanted it to match my new mod.

I feel like a complete newbie asking questions like this lol, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

@Iliketurtles , yes the positive pin is raised like on all my other mods. I think I will give the threading a file as you suggest though, I haven't actually done this before as I have not needed too.

I do use hybrids from time to time, but if I have the choice I prefer a standard 510.

You mention it is quite common, what kind of file is good to use? I have a garage full of tools, they are my grandfathers but I can use any of them if I need too. I am not really up on tools though so a pointer in the right direction would be handy.

Ok- I found out the Lush actually has a reverse threaded 510, so should not screw back into the RDA after watching a few videos on youtube, from Wotofo and a reviewer.

I have adjusted the 510, as I did try to do so yesterday but thought the screw was stuck, there was no mention it was reverse threaded in the packaging. Now there is enough 510 protruding for me to feel OK using it. I first tested it on my Efusion, working fine, and is working fine on the Phantom.

I am very glad I asked, as in this case my presumption was wrong it was OK to use with a normal 510 connection. I am still using the standard 510 connecter due to personal preference though.

Eight inch bastard.
Which is the most common file sold in auto maintenance shops I think.

@Iliketurtles , I did wonder what I had done to offend you to be called an 'eight inch bastard', I realise it is a file though lol :p .

And @Zamazam , I found out this RDA was reverse threaded. I at first thought the screw was stuck, which was why I asked in case I would not be able to adjust it, but found out in a video this one is different to all my others. Once I tried the right way, I now have enough protruding to feel safe using it.

It was on sale where I bought it, and was only bought to match the new mod I got. I must say though, it is actually a rather nice RDA! A nice deep juice well which I like, easy enough to build on with the 4 post design, and airflow is also more than enough for my needs.
Add in the reverse threading which should stop the positive screwing back inside and I think its a winner.
