Hi: I have been reading through the DIY section and looking for an easy 0 mg nicotine menthol juice recipe. Any recipes you can recommend?

Thanks!

I have been buying 30-milliliter bottles when on sale BOGO but have not seen prices that low in a few years now. I bet I can save much more by learning to make my own e-juice. I have never attempted to make my own juice. I was a bit nervous and uncertain how to do it. I honestly do not know where to begin looking for supplies. I have read of people keeping huge gallon jugs of nicotine in their freezers and had been under the impression that one had to have a license to purchase nicotine because it is a poison. I am glad I weaned myself off of nicotine so that I would have an easier time getting ingredients. Thank you for such a simple straightforward recipe! I really do not know where to buy the crystals or the PG/VG. Are their links to reputable suppliers?

Some menthol flavorings on BCV. Menthol crystals on ECX you could use to make your own menthol flavoring. If you are interested in the latter do a youtube search on something like "menthol crystals diy".

PG and VG are, generally speaking, commodities. You can get them cheap by the quart/gallon. I buy quarts off Amazon but other folks buy directly from mail order suppliers. Searching this forum for something like "PG in bulk" will get you started in the right direction.

Edit: about the uncertainty in starting DIY - it's pretty simple, like cooking from scratch. Measure and mix. Doesn't have to be perfect, and you can dump or give away batches you don't like to less-discerning friends. Work in small test batches (a few ML maybe) until you find something you like then crank up the size. My test batches are about 7ml since I have a lot of containers that fit that. Gives me enough to test and pass on to a couple of my guinea pigs. Friends, I mean friends.

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

Depends if you want a minty flavor or just the menthol effect.
For just menthol 4% is more then enough.

Those menthol flavors are 10% menthol crystals diluted in PG, so if you intend to by it in crystal form you would have to dilute it in PG first.

Ask questions here, there are folks who would love to help you out.
Amen to that! VU has lots of good info, and recipes, and best of all, folks who are more than happy to help!
If it wasn't for the great DIY bunch here I would've never worked up the courage to do it myself almost a year ago now.

Thanks for such great info. I spent hours watching e-juice recipe tutorials on youtube last night that were helpful. I have obstreperous cats and a small kitchen to work in, so I'm relieved not to need nicotine. My lilac point gets into everything so I have to put her and my red point and orange tabby in the bedroom while I cook or bake. They are maximum possible trouble!

Hope everyone has a nice holiday!

So, you're into Siamese cats I see. I used to breed Seal point and Lynx point Siamese many years ago.

My very first cat was a seal point! He made such an impression on me that I have never been without a Siamese since. Having three cats is the limit for me! I can't put out decorations or a X-mas tree because of what they might do. My red point (Origami) has pica, and last year she ate several paper snowflakes that she could not pass and needed emergency surgery. They steal pill bottles because they rattle like cat toys! I have to keep everything out of their reach and the carpet vacuumed at all times. Good thing they don't have a catnip flavored e-juice! They are now at the juvenile delinquent age! My little lilac (Coblyn) beats up my big orange tabby (Belsnickel)!

The DIY posts here are so much help on what to me is a daunting task, but e-juice is getting too expensive. When I started vaping, I went right back to my earliest experience with analogs, which were Kools. I regret that I started smoking such strong menthols, but when I started vaping I needed something that would really emulate that same TH. Menthol e-juice worked for me better than all the other flavors I tried. I am going to start with the easiest menthol recipe I can find. I like vaping peppermint and spearmint with just a touch of sweetness. That hint of sweetness must be the PG?

I won't have time to attempt making e-juice until after the holidays are over. At least I can't start my kitchen on fire, so how bad could it be? LOL!

Get some Koolada (mine's TFA), and combine it with the menthol. I make that every time I get a cold. Clears the sinuses right out. Like Vick's for the inside. :)

It's not that complicated, Suzette, The ONLY thing you really need to worry about is putting too much nicotine in. If you get that measurement correct, the rest will be fine. There is no right or wrong. Just start with the lowest amount of flavoring that you can taste, and add more to it if it isn't strong enough. If you get it that wrong, just dump it down the drain. .25 cents lost. When adding menthol, do it a drop at a time. A little goes a long way.
