Smok Alien vs IPV6x vs RX 2/3???

First off, I wanna say hi... Finally made an account after a few months of staying in the shadows just to ask this question... Looking to get a better mod (currently working a Wehe Minikin, I know, I know) and I've narrowed it down to these three. Been searching and I could never seem to find them being discussed all at the same time. Tried asking my friends and they all went with the RX, mainly because it's a pretty well-known mod here in the Philippines. The IPV6x and Alien are harder to come by; in fact, I can only get an Alien online, none available in nearby vape shops, and as for the IPV6x only 1 store has it. Would really love to know the pros and cons among the 3.

The RX2/3 has a lot of battery connectivity issues, I'd get the RX200S instead.
The IPV6X had a defective V1 and V2 and a good V3, the problem is that there is no way to make sure you get V3 and no way to upgrade, so I would get the IPV8 instead.
The Alien is nice.
If you want a 3 battery mod and don't mind the size get the the RX200S, if not choose between the Alien and IPV8.

@nightshard provided all the info I would have if I wasn't 13 hours late.
Based strictly on opinion (I have multiples of all three of those mods) I'd choose the Smok Alien.
The only thing you MAY find to complain about it is some have had issues with the paint peeling.
I have 5 Smok Aliens and none of mine have peeling paint but wanted to mention it simply because I have read a few complaints.

Go with the Alien. I have an IPV6x and it can be a pain in the ass to use. There's no wattage scrolling so you have to press the damn up and down buttons over and over again until you reach your target wattage. Another annoyance is the battery door is prone to popping open even with the slightest amount of pressure. You have to be careful when putting it down for this reason otherwise your batteries will come flying out.

I would personally get an ipv5. Its a hell of a mod for the price. I love mine just as much as my triade dna250

Bsttery connectivity with the 3rd battery or even with just the dual battery set-up?

I haven't looked into the ipv5 yet, will watch a few reviews.

What about firmware updates? Are they easy to find and install for these devices?

I've been leaning towards the Alien a lot, but my friends here are really pushing me to get an RX. If I had the budget I'd get the Triade or Therion in a heartbeat, but oh well. Thanks for the feedback guys.

The update for the IPV400 was the IPV6x, the update for the IPV6x was the IPV8. What king of vaping do you do, TC or power, tanks with prebuilt coils or RDA/RTA, 25 watts or 125 watts, 5 mills a day or 45?

I'm from the Philippines, too. I've been shopping online (a bit too much) and have visited a few B&Ms here. The cheapest I've seen the Alien sell for in MM is P2,300. You can get it at cellshackmnl (they have an FB page) either in their Bangkal, Makati branch or their new branch in QC. Or you can get it from Vapemix, BF Homes, Pnq. Vapemix also has an FB page. Both of them offer shipping and both of them are worth a visit. Basically, if you visit them, you'll want to buy more vape gear -- so much eye candy. Right now, cellshackmnl only has the Alien in gun metal. Vapemix has the other colors. Most of the other vape shops I've canvassed sell the Alien for 2400/2450 and higher.

If looking to get the smok alien, another good option for the U.S. is eciggity. They've got it for $51.99, cheapest shipping is $3.95 to the midwestern U.S. (it may be different depending where you live). There's a discount code "10PERCENTOFF" that can be used. Free shipping if the order's over $75 usd for U.S. residents. Even without meeting the free shipping limit it comes out to $50.74 shipped.

Not quite as cheap as cigabuy's price but for an extra $6-7 it ships a lot faster. I've used them in the past for several orders and despite being in the midwest and their place being in Hawaii I always get things in around 4 days, 5 at the most. It's actually pretty quick. I can get orders from them faster than I can from Halo, Halo's roughly 1,200mi away and eciggity is around 4,000mi away. Go figure.

Then in your situation and out of those 3 I would stop by the local shop and check the 6X and see if its the updated version, hit the fire button 3 times and see if it locks, if it locks I would get it, if not I would get the alien. Only reason I would go that way is because the you run in power mode so updates dont really matter and the finish on the 6X is solid.

P.S. Welcome :) I've gotten great advice from here -- all the info you'll ever need and then some.

Thank you! I would probably mostly be lurking in the shadows just to learn more off of other threads after this hehe.

I've messaged cellshack and vape sulit... still waiting for feedback. Can't believe not one of my friends picked the Alien over the RX.. I'll go get the Alien first. I'd love to visit their shops but I'm from Pampanga.

Thanks to everyone who replied!
