It wasn't one I've built it was the one that comes with the tfv8 cloud beast I didn't make the coils they came on it unsure the wie type and I tested on my mod as I'm not home to test properly the mod I used was smok alien and at different watts from 60 to 110 it never heated up at any watts for around 11 seconds it was in watt mode like I say was just the pre built that came with cloud beast it wasn't something I'd made I'm just wondering if its faulty or if I could be doing something wrong I've used rbas a while and didn't do anything differetn mine always work perfect on my othermods

OK, RBA typically means you built the coil and installed it on the deck.

The tank as a "kit" came with three coils ---
  • Smok V8-T8
    • Deep and rich cloud taste
    • 0.15ohm (50w-260/Best 120-180w)
  • Smok V8-Q4
    • Smooth & Silky Taste
    • 0.15ohm (50w-180/Best 90-150w)
  • Smok V8-RBA
    • 18 MM Deck
    • Clapton Dual Coils .28 (50-140w)

If using the RBA, it "should" have come with a pre-installed dual clapton coil setup, which should have read approx .28ohm on your MOD when you put it all together.

Make sure that your MOD is showing in the .28ohm resistance. If you are not seeing any resistance reading, then you may have a short or the coils are not tightened down correctly.

I'm still confused was it the RBA deck or was it a premade coil?

Sorry just busy atm should have made more sense just posting quick while at work it was the coils on the v8 rba that were not heating upthe pre fitted coils iI hadn't done anything to it apart from re wick I tested it and I read correct well little lower ohms but when I fired it it took 11 seconds to heat up I'm fairly new to this type of vaping so there's things I need to extra educate myself on I do my own rbas that I use on the maxo 315 and its a beast for clouds and taste but I also use cloud beast t10 pre made coils on my rx300 yes two high powered mods but I like to vape high watts especially t10s that go to 300 I all day use that around 230-260 watts just my sweet spot I like feeling the hit and like a good lung full of vapour the taste that high is unreal to although sometimes can go through coils like no ones buisness andeats liquid anyways back to my question its just the pre made coils were not heating up for 11 seconds before they glowed nnothing to do with anything else the deck or anything just coils not reaching temp quick enough I've read this v8 rba is not very good anyways so could just be ke expecting to much and actually nothing's wrong with it I have been sent a new 7 colour cloud beast that I will try the v8 rba again and see if its the same I followed a video tutorial on YouTube for using it from testing to wicking and his worked fine I took the same steps as I would on my own rba and followed his but coils never heated quick enough sorry for my lack of knowledge I don't mean to piss off or offend it was just a query I had it makes no difference if that works or not to me just thought I'd test it out ill try and give u all the info u need to help cheers

maybe you need more wattage or maybe the RBA wasn't properly done? Did you make sure the connections were tight? dry burn and remove hot spots? then wick?

I have an RBA in my baby-beast tank. It works flawless with any clapton that i've thrown into it so far.
So, trying to figure out why yours isn't working.

It's very possible that the coil is crank heating directly at the leg post if you haven't prep'd the coils for hotspots, etc. You won't get any vapor or heat then and your wire will possibly burn up.

The wire on the first one that's now binned lol went black I think It burned them I did test them they were ok ohms I checked nothing was touching and when I came to dry burn and hot spot check it took 11 seconds before it glowed by this time I had to stop firing testing on mod was worries for saftey even if I shouldn't have lol and I didn't want to burn the coils but when it didn't glow there was a little hot spot so I just rubbed the coil fired again took another 11 seconds but looked fine wire were not black at this point si I wicked and dripped put it together anyways to try and no vapour or even a sound it was firing took apart to see what was wrong and the wores were all black no smeel or anything of burning I was a little unsure if this was normal sp I cleaned re wicked and put it on my mod upped the watts and it crackled after about five seconds I fired for a little before puffing see if it got to temp and still novapour and iit souned nothing was happening I did test on the mod not an external tester that I'd use with my own rba makes bare in mind they work everyt time on my other mods so thought this would be simple I checked the coils were in tight and not touching any part I checked for hot spots I before wicking but wasn't working properly anyway taking 11 secs to do anything I'd usually use geek vape ohms reader to test coils could thisbe why cos iI'm using mod to test I strimmer the coil a little on the hot spot had to send this quick might of missed stuff out boss was coming lol if I missed anything ask me the question u need to know I only went to about 130 watts when tried in mod smok alien

The folks here are hitting on most of the things I can think of. I would suggest pulling it, remove the wicking, check the grub screw tightness, pulse it at about 100 W to get the coils to glow, and look/watch for hot spots (especially near the terminals. If all glows well, let cool, re-wick, and juice it up. Check that your RBA section is screwed in well and making good contact with the positive pin. The pre-installed Claptons are beefy coils (a lot of mass) and do take a bit to heat up... but it shouldn't take 11 seconds. Check the mod that you are using to see if you can adjust the aggressiveness (e.g., Smok mods can be Min, Soft, Norm, Hard, Max) and if controllable set to max. I would think that at 130 Watts you should be heating up fairly fast (within about 3 to 5 seconds for a room temperature coil).

P.S. I'm a slow typer and you posted again before I submitted.

Right problem solved the coil was pressing together touching the leg pole I think its called or just the bit in the middle and I think the watts were to low I moved ot from touching strummed abit turned watts much higher and it takes about 6 seconds now much better but still not perfect I tried the new one and test fired it that one started heating straight away and glowed in 3-4 seconds I tried both vaping them and the first one took a while but if I chain vapes it give a decent cloud shit flavour tho and the new one tested wicked dripped and vapes spot on huge clouds and awesome flavour so dno what it was but must have just been faulty cheers for the help people
