are you running the application as administrator?

When you plug in the device does the OS recognize the device and load the drivers?

64 bit I would suspect...maybe try running the app in compatibility mode under a 32 bit wrapper

be careful when upgrading firmware...if it hits a snag once it starts writing...it can brick the device

Yes i'm running it on administrator, the OS didn't recognize the device. So should I upgrade my ipv2s?

Could be the USB cable

Is there a manual or application that comes with your device?

I had the same problem whit IPV2S, device not found, it was because the USB driver was not instaled on my computer. For instal it you need to remove your battery then connect the IPV2S whitout battery ( normaly your IPV2S must be reconized). Now you can launch SXi program ( whit your device connected whitout battery), begin whit "connection icon" and "instal driver", then click connect button (you have message : "connected"), continue whit "upgrade icon" and "open file" to search your firware (.sxi) and finish by click on "upgrade button", wait and enjoy :)
