Approximate Direct Cost of making a 30.00 ml Falvor

Hi guys,

Does anyone know what the approximate or even a guesstimate of what the total direct costs of making your own flavors would be?

Can be in Rands (South African, preferably lol) or Dollars.

Thanks Guys.

You own flavors? Don't you mean your own e-liquid?

This depends if you have all the ingredients at the desired quality available locally or you would require expensive international shipping.

In either case it's cheap, much cheaper then buying juice.

I've seen the figure $0.92USD thrown around. I don't know if thats right but it is a lot cheaper. As nightshard said prices will vary depending on your cost of ingredients. I do know that I have more money in my wallet since I started DIY.

E-Liquids, sorry that's what I meant.

The ingredients are all sourced locally, so I am sure that it will work out cheaper than buying juices.

Thanks.

If you buy in bulk it's about $1 per 30ml. At least that's about what I calculated for myself.

My cost is about 0.50 per ml. When I use expensive supplies. I could cut that in half by just buying supplues in the next bottle size up.

That $0.50 is an average... example my wife's adv juice is 70% PG at 15mg. Uses 5 flavors. Cost is $2.47usd per 30 ml bottle.

Hard to give an estimate.
The two most expensive ingredients are nic and flavor, so juice with 18mg will cost a lot more then 3mg, juice with 15% flavor will cost a lot more then 5%.
Ingredients bought in small quantities cost a lot more then bulk.

I figured around 3 cents USD per mil. so a 50 mil bottle costs me around $1.50 or so

Too true. But you could alleviate some of that cost by buying higher concentrated nic; if you have the right equipment. I usually buy 48mg and cut it down to 3, but I could save a bit if I bought 100mg and cut it to 3. I finally pulled the trigger and bought my flavorings in bigger bottles this time (4 oz.) so now I won't be buying flavorings for at least 6 months :)

At one point I realized I was paying more for juice per week than I was on RYO cigs. Shocking how big the markup is on Juice.

I use some expensive flavors (Inawera), and I use a lot of them (14.5% shisha strawberry, and about 10% of other flavors), and mine comes to about 5.5 cents per ml. That would make 30ml about $1.65. If you use less costly flavors, and lower percentages, then far less, as the others above have mentioned.

Thought I throw this out if some one wants to do the math
2 glycubes PG & VG (8 gallons) $124USD Shipped
2L Nicotine 100mg/ml enough for 12 years at 3mg/ml $94USD shipped
The mix with the largest percent of flavor is 7.5ml per 30ml about $2USD most mixes are much less flavoring some at 4ml per 30ml.
Cheap if you ask me.

I'm impressed more than 2-3% Shisha Strawberry is too much for me. I'd be in a ball whimpering at 14.5%

These recipes that use like 2%-10% flavoring, I can't even taste 'em, all I taste is the PG, which is pretty awful stuff. For that little taste, I wouldn't even bother, I'd probably just go back to smoking. At least cigarettes have a taste. Nasty, yeah, but an acquired taste. :D I acquired it once, I could probably do it again, if I really wanted to. I don't. :D So I'll stick with my 26% flavoring.

About $0.80 per 30ml not including the bottle. But I buy in bulk. Flavors at least 30ml, gallon of nic, gly cube of vg, gallon of pg. in smaller quantities, probably right around $1 or so per 30ml.

Just a warning if you do get int DIY and want to try a lot of flavors out to find your favorites your main cost will be the flavors! I've only been doing this for a year and my flavors are catching up to the cost of every thing else quick:)
I did get great deals on Nic and VG/PG but still flavors add up way quicker than a lot will admit.

I'm in line with everyone cost wise just letting them know I have over $600 in my investment.
Now at 30 mill a day store juice that is squat.

my cost for 30 mls was about $1.65 last time I checked. And that was before I really settled into buying my materials in larger volume - I'm sure it's less now. And that is WITHOUT any regard to cost - I buy "top quality" Nic, etc...
My go-to vendors include
Nude Nicotine
The Flavor Apprentice
and Essential Depot

Let's just say less then 1$ per 30ml not including the bottle.
Yes i always clean and reuse bottles. I actually mix 120 ml bottles and refill unicorn bottles from them using oral medicine syringes and 'Korcs'

However amoritizing the cost of the bottles over the 2 years that I have had them makes the cost very low.

I make 240ml of my ADV and according to e-liquid-recipes it cost me $2.68 plus the bottle.

My 30ml recipes using 2mg nic and 3.5% total Real Flavors Super Concentrates cost me ~$0.50. $2 per 120ml versus the $30 - $60 per 120ml I was paying for store bought juice was a no brainer to go DIY since I vape 300 - 600ml per month.

are you vaping 100mg/ml nic with 40% flavoring? That is about the only way I could make a 30ml cost that much.

I recalculated. It should have been $1.19. The cost per ml for the flavoring I was using was incorrect.
My costs could be lower, but I bought a ton of flavors in 10ml sizes in my initial flavoring orders to see which ones I liked. When I re-order the flavorings I use a lot, I will order the bigger sizes to reduce the cost.

That being said, some of my Flavorart flavors cost .28/ml in the 10ml bottles and the 30ml 20% mix would need 6ml. The flavoring cost of that mix would be $1.68.

I have it computed at around .70 cents per 30ml for simple recipes if you are making complex recipes with expensive flavors it can go up .70 cents to a dollar per 30ml is the range

What is your flavoring cost per ml? Do you buy large sizes?
