Flavor gone/watered down taste

I'm just getting my feet wet with DIY. I'm following others' recipes right now, but the biggest problem I'm having is that my juice is losing its flavor, almost tasting watered down, by the end of the bottle (30 ml). I vape about 10-12 ml per day, so the bottle only lasts about 3 days. I use to do the same with store bought juice and this didn't happen. Nor is it the same as fatigue, as I have experienced that too. I also drink plenty of water and that's all I drink, with exception to the adult beverages. I want to make larger batches, but am worried I'll just waste it. Usually switch between 2-3 flavors regularly.

You have decent VG which isn't watered down?

Thanks! It's not so much that it tastes bad, just diluted. There's hint of the original flavor. It's almost as if the bottle is broken down into 3 sections. First section is full of flavor (how it is suppose to taste), second part is the same flavor muted, and third section is the flavor but with a watered down quality. Think about drinking a bourbon on the rocks 3/4 of the way, then drinking the rest when the ice has melted. Very strange to me.

Ok. So vapor's tongue can happen that quick? The only time I've experienced it before was after about a week of only the same juice. This has happened with the last 4 recipes I've made. Just seems strange to me that the store bought juices didn't do it too. Thanks for the feedback!

Sounds like flavor fade to me. Just add a few more drops of flavoring when this happens. It's very rare if I make more than 30ml at a time. The key is finding a very clean nic. That eliminates long steeping. :)

I've made Unicorn milk, a vanilla wafer, a butter rum, and a strawberry-raspberry-watermelon
I have some suggestions for you start looking back in the threads their are way to make flavors pop and some flavors more than others its not always adding more Flavor but can be thats the thing here you have to experiment sometimes adding one drop of "Anise' or maybe a few to a 30ml bottle of fruits does it other times its using "Tart" in a very small amount to Pop the flavor .. its on this forum you surely need to dig but trying a few drops of the two I just mentioned could make a difference there are so many variables.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into those! I also switched up to another simple juice last night (3% butterscotch, 3% Jamaican rum, and a touch of Marshmallow) of all FA flavors. From what I've read, FA is more concentrated so you need less and I'm worried about losing flavor by over flavoring. So I've tried to stick around suggested percentages. However, I can barely taste the flavors. Could it be I just need a higher percentage? And if so, how will I know what not to go over?

More isn't always better, especially with FA. Too much flavoring can have the same effect as not enough ie muted flavors. With that recipe, I'd almost cut everything in half, shake everything before mixing, shake the piss out of it after mixing, and give it time. What's your PG/VG ratio?

Really?! that low for FA? I make a 70VG 30PG mix.

Just gonna shoot straight. I think you are getting vaper tongue. I get it myself if I vape the same flavor more than one day at a time. Flavors get muted.

If you have two devices or tanks, try switching your flavor every day. See if that makes a difference.

If not, then you are not getting your juice blended well enough.

Those are the only things I can think of causing the problem.

I find their butterscotch overpowering. Depending on which flavor you want in the forefront, I'd reduce them, too. You wanting a butterscotch rum? Reduce the butterscotch to 1% or less, bring the Jamaican Rum to 2%, then if you're using the marshmallow as a sweetener, you may not need it at all, but if you do, try it at 0.5%. Jamaican rum can be used as a sweetener itself, plus butterscotch is also pretty sweet.

If you're looking for butterscotch in the front, flip flop the above.

Still no taste, then yep, vaper's tongue gets my vote.

Thanks guys! In my prior experience, vapors tongue only occurs on the flavor I had been vaping, not a newly introduced flavor. This butterscotch rum was the first time having it this morning in about 2 weeks. Can vapors tongue kill all juices?

Me too. Here's one I'm vaping on right now:

2% FA cookie
2% FA fuji
2% FA caramel
.5% FA cinnamon ceylon
.25% FA clove

It's @Heabob 's recipe I tweaked a bit. My mix is 30/70 PG/VG, and this is full of flavor.

You seem to be a fine candidate to sample some of HIC's magic elixirs found here...:vino:

Please take a look at and think about the flavor percentages found in the "Buttershots" recipe. While, of course, those percentages are Not for everyone's taste, you may find them a fine starting point.
