Hey, what’s up everybody! First off, I am not a professional reviewer. I have however done a ton of research, and tried out several different tanks on my short journey into the vaping world. I was given these two tanks as part of a reviewer contest, and have ran them exclusively for a little over a week. Here is a nice look at the packaging that these two tanks come in. Each comes with a TON of o rings, spare glass, and a spare .5 ohm coil. Very nice compact package, which I like, because I keep the packaging for all of my tanks.

All is packaged in a nice small box, which is great for box horders.

To keep this test run as scientific as possible. Both of the tanks were on the same mod, same juice (80VG), and the same coil resistance. Let’s dig right into it!

Here are a few of the details about these tanks:

* Tanks are made of SS and Pyrex glass

* Coils are all NM - food grade ceramic- no cotton
* Coils are kanthal and resistances are 1 ohm and .5 ohm- recommended watt range; 1ohm: 25-50, .5ohm: 40-60
* 44 has a 2 mL capacity
* 45 has a 2.5 mL capacity
* Both come in stainless, black or limited rose gold
* (available at: http://www.onlineshop.ceravape.com/)

CERABIS 44

I got off to a rough start with this tank. I filled and primed the pre-installed 1.0 ohm coil, took two good hits, and the resistance dropped to 0, and I never could get this coil to work again! This was not a great first impression, however I never had another coil issue other than this. Once I got a functioning coil in, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this tank. I went from an Aspire Cleito to this tank, and felt it was just a hair behind it. I found that it vapes really best from 40-50W. I ran about 10 tanks through the 44 and found only one major flaw in mine. It leaks! I could not get the leaking to stop at all with this tank. I changed out O-rings, and double checked the assembly, but I still got some leaking out the air flow holes. It isn’t awful, but it was still enough to make me stray away from wanting to use the tank.

CERABIS 45

After vaping the 44, I found these tanks to vape almost identical. It makes reviewing the 45 a breeze. One design difference separates these two, and to me, it's a big BIG difference. THE FILL PORT!! I love the fill port of this tank. It is quick and easy to use, and the hole is large enough for most bottles or pipettes. The fill design and .5 mL bump in capacity made the 45 the winner in my book.

PROS

- Fill slot on the Cerabis 45 a great innovative design.

- Flavor is good on both tanks. I felt it was right up there with my Cleito.

- I NEVER had flooding with the ceramic, and NEVER had spitback.

- It has good air flow adjustment. It is easy to adjust, and has a good range.

- The coils have good life. Other than my one bad coil out of box, It took 15 tanks before it got remotely gunked up. I tried both cleaning methods, and it somewhat revives the coils. However, I think of them as a throw away like any other coil. They are never REALLY renewed from the cleaning process.

CONS

- My Cerabis 44 leaked quite a bit. The 45 did not.

- Capacity. I went through an entire tank on just a 10 minute commute

- Since this coil is unique, I wonder about the availability and price of coils. They are not as long lasting as advertised, so one would have to replace them at least monthly depending on how heavily used.

Side by side comparison of each

Side by side comparison of each of the fill designs. The 44 is a top fill design and the 45 has a juice fill port.

Here is a comparison of the size of the Cerabis 45 to some common tanks on the market. Left to right. Avocado22, Cleito, and the Cerabis 45.

SUMMARY

These two tanks are really great for someone who wants nice flavor and a different design. They can be a bit confusing for a rookie vapor, but a little tinkering, and you'll soon get the hang of them. Each tank has a bar across the middle, which "blocks" spit back from happening. and since nobody likes spitback...that's a win! The vape is very consistent with the ceramic coils. When vaping at 50W, two puffs in and the vape is the same from then, until you set it down. I couldn't buy into the telescoping design. It just seems like an area relying on o-rings too much to stop leaking. The single biggest factor in my continued use of this tank is the coils. I had 1 out of 4 coils bad, and these aren't something that I can just run down and pick up locally. They aren't all over the internet either, so that is the biggest downfall. Maybe if Ceravape gets really big, then that will no longer be an issue, but until then it seems you have just a few options for purchase.

Thanks again to Benny for giving me a chance to do this review. I really think Ceravape is on to something here, and hope they continue on and keep on improving.

I just didn't see it in the tank review thread- still a bit new to navigating or knowing where something will be. (Maybe it's in a general tank thread- I'll look for it.)

The Cerabis 44 and 45 were sent to me at no charge for the purpose of this review. I am not affiliated or employed by Ceravape, these are only my honest opinions.

Tank Descriptions
  • Coils are food grade ceramic, no cotton
  • Coils are 1 ohm: with recommended wattage of 25-50, 0.50 ohm: 40-60 watts.
  • 44 holds 2ml, 45 holds 2.5ml
  • 44 is 44mm x 22mm, 45 is 45mm x 22mm
  • Both come in stainless, black or limited rose gold
  • MAX VG friendly
  • (available here: http://www.onlineshop.ceravape.com/)
Getting to know both the 44 and 45
20161220_114629.jpg

20161220_114858.jpg

Both packages are the same with the exception that the 44 and 45 use different sized glass, pictured above is of the 45 glass which is shorter.
Comes with the 0.50 ohm coil installed and a 1 ohm coil in the package. Bag of o'rings and a thorough owner's manual that covers both tanks.

Different fill methods
20161220_123735.jpg

Both use a different method to fill, the 44 on the left unscrews from the top to fill, the 45 has a slide down cover to fill from the side. I didn't have any problems filling either one but the 45 was a little tough to pull down at first but loosened up after the fill up.

Takes any 510 drip tip
20161220_124019.jpg

You can replace the drip tips, it is a standard 510. I really liked the stock drip tips, especially if vaping at 50 watts or higher. The top of the tank can get warm to hot if you are chain vaping, the stock drip tip covers the top of the tank though so it keeps the heat away from your lips.

Pull up to open juice flow and airflow, push down to close
20161220_112610.jpg

At first I wasn't a fan of this design and intentionally left it open all the time to see if I would get any leaks. no leaks for 9 days. On the 10th day while taking photo's I was opening and closing both tanks for different pics and got some leaking from the 45. It may have been the opening and closing quickly that caused the leak, sort of like a pumping action. For an out and about tank you will carry in your pocket I liked the design, should keep your pockets dry and not smelling like your favorite juice.

Difference between the coils is not just ohms
20161220_123551.jpg

The top coil is the 0.50 ohm, it has a larger diameter opening for more airflow. I measured a little over 4mm opening for the 0.50 ohm coil and around 3.3mm for the 1 ohm coil. Not a huge difference but I prefer an airier draw so the 0.50 ohm coil was my preference.

In daily use
Coil break in on these is great compared to other ceramic coils like the Vaporesso Gemini, that one I usually fill up at night to be ready in the morning. With the Cerabis 44 and 45 I just filled them up, waited 5 minutes and vaped.

Vapor wise it is a nice dense cloud, not going to win any cloud competitions but it is enjoyable and the best out of all my ceramic coil based tanks.

Flavor is real good, the best of all my ceramic coil tanks. What I really liked though was when changing flavors the prior flavor didn't linger like you get with cotton based coils. I went from fruit vapes to chocolate then custards and each time I wasn't tasting the prior juice as long as I vaped the tank dry beforehand.

Airflow is good on the 0.50 ohm coil for a deep lung hit but if it had a little more I would be happier. I will still continue using these tanks in my car or out and about were you don't want to fog up a place.

Comparisons to other ceramic tanks
20161220_125907.jpg

I used fresh coils in all 4 tanks and used the same juice to keep it fair.

Vaporesso Gemini: This tank has always been so so for me and the coil break in is annoying. The flavor is good, better after a couple of tanks to break in. It has a cotton layer as well so switching juices can leave you with a bit of the flavor of the prior juice in the beginning. I have never been impressed with the Gemini, the Cerabis 44 and 45 are superior tanks IMO.

Vaporesso Guardian: I enjoy this little tank but only in my stealth setup with the target mini it came packaged with. Not a long break in like the other Vaporesso coil and the flavor is great just like the Cerabis. Tight draw on this little sucker though, good when you have to stealth vape.

Gratuitous pics of both tanks on various mods
20161220_112521.jpg

20161220_113106.jpg

20161220_113506.jpg

Pros:

    • Short break in time with new coils
    • Great flavor
    • Dense clouds
    • Comfortable well designed drip tip
    • Prior flavor does not linger when changing flavors
    • After 10 days of use and trying to gunk up the coils there still clean
    • 1 ohm coil is great on mini mods with limited power
Cons:

    • The 44 can be difficult to remove the top cap to refill when on a mod, sometimes had to remove from mod to get a grip.
    • With the black tanks when the JFC and airflow is open it is SS, would look a lot cleaner if it was black as well.
    • Juice capacity of both is on the small side, there small tanks though and not juice hogs.

Final thoughts
I haven't been a fan of Ceramic coils but the new Cerabis 44 and 45 have changed that. I do think there is more innovation to be had though but this is the step in the right direction. I also like that there is no cotton in these coils, makes changing flavor real easy.

I would love to see Cervape make a 25mm tank with larger coils for more airflow, that would be something I would buy for sure based on my experience with there ceramic coils.

I like the 45 over the 44 for it's styling, ease of refilling and it holds a bit more juice. If your a cloud chaser than these are not the tanks for you, if your a flavor chaser then give it a try, I think you will like it.

Tons of good reviews here. I pitched them to my local vape shop and they are looking into selling them. One guy tried it and loved the flavor to the point where he asked if I'd sell him a tank.

So 4 of the 10 winners have posted reviews so far? or have I missed any?

I'd be lying if I said I'm not happy with the narrowed odds at a chance to review more. I still use the cerabis 45. Almost out of the coils it came with. (I only vape 4 ml a day)

I'm hoping so. I'm betting on at least 2 more; one person has been communicating with me, and another did post pics in the contest thread.

Great to hear. I'd probably use a v1 Cerabis for a road tank if I weren't addicted to fused claptons.

nice to know. Would have liked to see all 10 personally. especially since it was a requirement
Yeah, a requirement, but not legally binding or anything. I did say in a message to all the winners that the tanks are theirs and they're free to do what they will with them. I sent them with hopes and not necessarily expectations that all would do a review.

Personally, I only review 1/10 products I purchase, but I did, however, at least post a pic and a thank you for all contests I won when I was entering them all the time a couple of years back.
