Just curious as to how often everyone here builds. I used to build once a week. on weekends i would break out my building stuff. put away the stuff i'm using and build on other stuff to rotate. but lately with all the reviews and stuff coming in and testing on mods I'm building pretty much every night. it's getting a little overwhelming at times lol and cutting into my other hobbies. So VU how often do you break out your stuff and rebuild your attys?

As little as possible lol. Honestly it's been difficult for me to build. I have a child less than 2 years old that takes up most of my time and a wife that takes up the rest. Then there is work.

Lol i feel you man. my kids have a bedtime of 830 though and my wife wakes up for work at 3am so he's out by that time too most night so most of my building/recording is when everyone else is sleeping. Sometimes i can do it on weekends if my wife takes the kids shopping or something. But that's gonna get hard real soon as I coach little league and the season starts up in about a month. Just not enough hours in the day sometimes

Sounds like my exact situation lol... I found myself building at 3:30am the other night/morning only because my favorite tank was getting a little skanky burnt tasting.

I try to build on Sundays (I try), got quite a few attys and when it's time it's time.
that too^ multitasking watching football and building. I don't vape in front of my kids but i do build in front of them. They are at that age where they are sponges lol but it's fun to teach them things and do experiments. I'm pretty sure by the age of 13, they will know more about ohms law, electricity, and basic life stuff (changing tires, changing oil, plumbing, etc) then most adults. It's important to teach your kids valuable life skills

SS wire is easily my favorite too. last long, no taste, quick ramp up at lower wattage, and can be used in temp control
I use SS for the longevity only and no longer use TC at all I have a .304 SS build in my youde Bellus that is going on 5 months and still going as strong as day one.. The longevity of SS wire is something that is rarely brought up or spoke about its corrosion resistance is amazing compared to Kanthal or Nichrome or any derivative

Me, varies a lot.

Sometimes I may go a week without rebuilding (rarely though), on average I'd say 2-3 times a week mostly do "I just want to". I've had coils in some of my devices for months. 99% of all I use is 317L SS so they last forever for the it has one of the highest ratings (I believe it's the highest) for corrosion resistance. Kanthal I use sometimes in my Atty's that I can't get a proper build in for my Series Mod's.

lol it's the issue with dans (aka @b_d_builders) coils. they seem to last forever. I have a set in my Aromamizer plus going on 3 weeks and a set in my modfather going on a month.

Not that often since I switched to rayon. The wicks just keep on trucking !
Don't like the flavor of Rayon, plus Rayon doesn't wick as well in RDA's either. Rayon may "wick" faster which is good for tanks but it doesn't hold the juice as well as cotton. Koh gen Do I've found to be the best for me and holds up very well, when my coils gunk up Koh gen Do is still in good shape.

But we are talking about coils not wicks in this thread ;)

I've been using SS exclusively myself also. It's just great all around. And I usually end up tinkering with builds about every 2 weeks just cause I want too... not because I have too. I usually re-wick every other day or so depending on the juice I'm into at the time.

Yep, having to clean the coils depends so much on the juice. I'm really tired of all the juice out there that adds excessive sucralose, VG is naturally sweet. There's good juice that I've stopped vaping just because it's got so much sucralose in it that it gunks up my coils on a daily basis.

I don't.
The RDAs I rotate through all have builds that are over a year old.
2 have builds that are almost two years old now.

I switch between 4 tanks during the day and since I tried rayon the first time I've never looked back. Usually get 2-3 weeks out of the wick and going on 6 weeks on the SS build.

I've got about 5 tanks in rotation weekly. A Rose V3 and an Aqua V2 go to work with me because they never leak in my pocket. The rest are a couple of Aromamizer RDTAs and Merlins and a Boreas. Ya, that's more than 5 but I typically only use 5 at a time.

I'll dry burn and rewick the ones in use about once a week. With that many in rotation I only feel the need to recoil each about every 3 to 5 months depending on how much use each gets. Unless I feel like changing the setup but that doesn't happen often with tanks I've had for a while.

I know, I'm boring ... but it works for me :D

Do not get me started on Rayon that is the nastiest shit imaginable
I have to agree with that, as for the consistent "it lasts so long" that's always pimped with it. I need to clean my coils long before my Koh gen Do gives out so the "lasts so long" is a moot point. Hell in my Kayfun I've been vaping on it daily for well over a week and all holds up well, usually need to clean the coil every other week and the Koh gen Do is fine. I could only image how nasty the coils would be without being cleaned in a month...

Anyway back to the subject of building. I think I'm going to spin some wire up today, got a Reload, Cosmonaut and a Tokugawa I need to try that have been sitting around for a bit.

yeah back when I was still on the Stinkies I rolled my own and would use Raw natural organic cotton filters. You could taste a difference between them and the shit from like Top filters, nasty shit.

It's all about what works for you. Hell I have two 3x 1lb rolls of sterilized dental cotton, actually works really well. IMO it's the same thing as Cotton Bacon, but I prefer Koh gen Do.

I advise to any and all to keep an open mind and try as much as possible then stick with what works well for you. Some seem to think it's a religion, typical Herd Mentality ;)

End of the day it all comes down to what ever works to keep you off the Stinkies.

Usually once a week. Rewick at the same time. Usually a dual coil for the Griffen 25 Plus. Takes about 5 min. Do it at my office at work or if my wife is out cause my wife hates this stuff lol.

This is her "you need to stop doing this by the end of the month". In my head I'm saying "Are you crazy I finally bought a nice DNA".

Just tell her then you'd start smoking again and stink up the house along with yourself ;)

couldn't agree with that more if i wanted to. an open mind is a willing mind. ready to learn and experience more in life. a closed mind is a stupid mind, set in their ways, never growing, never learning.

I only recently started building, so now I need more attys. It's a vicious circle; the more shit you get, the more shit you need. :wait:
Yeah, just wait and soon you'll no longer be at the bottom of the Rabbit Hole but digging it ;)

It's fun though, isn't it? :vino:

Just a few weeks ago I didn't know what a "decore" was, and now I'm making my own aliens. Slurping over on the Post Your Builds thread got me hooked.

My dripper used to look like that after 2-3 days. But for some reason my tank comes out white except for where the coil was and that's only a little discolored. And I vape a house blend using tobacco absolute. This stuff is brown when new and gets darker with time.

I wonder if it's because older juice isn't fully vaporized and instead mixes with the new drops which again isn't fully vaporized and mixes with the new ect ect. But with the tank it actually wicks the new up to the coil then vaporized.

Build pretty much everyday. Usually 2 or 3 times a day and only time building tools get put away is when grandkids come over. Cleaning tanks, making juice, rebuilding used stock animizers people give me, My RTA's. Always something to do when you have a stockpile you have been collecting for three years. I have 9 coils sitting in front of me as we speak waiting to be tested in my Ammit or Merlin single coil tank. LOL
