Hi all. Just started vaping lil over a month ago to help with quitting the cigs and so far have found it very helpful and quite pleasing. Day 24 without any cigs. Am looking to move up a tad in the vape world and get my 1st box or mini mod. Have been using the Skillet since i started and while it has been fun and enjoyable i feel the need to find out more of what vaping has to offer.
That being said i was hoping some of you could help me if i tell you what i'm looking for. I am looking for a kit with an internal battery, good battery life, 40 - 100 watts, TC and VW preferred but not mandatory, durable and dependable, ease of use and something i might be able to grow into with a good atty and tank for $80 or under. I know I'm asking a lot out of my first mod but would appreciate any advice or suggestions.
Thanks and keep vapin'

If you want something that runs more that 40ish watts, you need to move into mods that have removable batteries.

The only option I am well aware of that does what you ask, is a DNA mod with a built in LIPO pack. These are not cheap, and they are not simple, considering you need escribe software on a computer to "set" your mod. It will run about 200 starting out for the mod alone.

Other than that, if you want to run 100 watts, you need at least a dual battery mod. The Smok Alien with a baby beast tank runs under 60 bucks, 2 pair of batteries will cost maybe 30 bucks, and a quality charger will cost about another 30 bucks.

Honestly, if you are a MTL vaper now, and you don't want to move to DL tanks and RDA's, there is no need to get a mod that runs more than 50 watts. Lots of options for mods 75 watts and below with and without removable batteries.

To point you in the right direction, we just honestly need to know where you want to take vaping.

I like the kanger topbox mini kit. Runs around $80 I think, comes with an 80? watt box and a tank with 2 premade coils and a rebuildable mini RBA. (and I believe.. 2 pre coiled coils)I don't think it has an internal battery though, however.. as you advance you are going to need a charger anyway. Advantage.. 1 battery in the box, 1 on charger.. no down time. Just swap batteries when one gets low.

I was thinking bout getting a Slice or a Nebula. Leaning towards the Slice cause i can pick one up for 30 bucks with a 500 day warranty but no tank or batts, but the Neb could get mod and tank for around 70 but still no batt. Like you said i will need a charger at some point. might just end up a getting a Tarot Nano or Kroma kit to hold me off til i can piece together the other stuff. Need to know of a good charger charger at a decent price to, any suggestions?

Slice is real good. With the 'sliceprice' code putting it at 30 bucks and its functionality and power, it's the best bang. Get the tank you want and a battery, and for the time being charge via the USB until you get a charger. Xtar makes good chargers, but I've got my eye on the Hohm Base.

Yeah, was looking at the hohm base too, seems 50 bucks is pretty much standard price almost everywhere i've seen it. Dont really know much about all the functions and such as i have only used the Skillet so far but the Slice would be something i could see myself liking and growing into.

Any recommendations on a non rebuildable atty/anti leak tank with good flavor and vapor production to pair up with the Slice

I personally have enjoyed my SMOK Alien Kit -- and under $80. Now own two of these kits and won't ever regret it.
The only issue I've had is the damn paint on both of the mods has started to chip off. SMOK needs to fix their paint!
Solution = Rubber sleeve for it.

nitecore is the most popular as it is a good quality. Xtar is better, but more expensive. Something like $20 for 2 slot nitecore vs 26.50 for a 2 slot xtar. (from the quick search I just did) I've been using a 4 slot nitecore for about 9 months, and no issues.

I'd suggest an innokin coolfire IV TC100 or the new Innokin MVP which is on sale for 50 bucks here http://vapingunderground.com/thread...rns-with-the-4th-version.302224/#post-1551804

Smok big baby beast

I will second either of these suggestions without even looking at any promotional material for them. Why? Smok & Innokin seem capable of putting out fair quality gear at reasonable prices. I still think a family of companies exists which use different branding lines but it all comes from the same factory base. Even so, these two company lines always do well consistently. At times you might hear of a few flaws but usually they are easily fixed, or I think you can even return direct to Smok & Innokin for them to make it right. Well, that's my two pennies. :)

Will the Slice work well with the FreeMax Starre Pure tank?

Absolutely yes!

The starre pure is a great tank with exceptional flavor to be had in the 50-60watt range easily.

You'll love both the slice and pure. Only thing with pure is coils can be a bit pricey, but they seem to last forever and someone always seems to end up having a deal on them.

Picked one up with a 5 pack of coils on MFS for 40 bucks, Got the Slice for 30 and found a 2 pack of Hohm Growns for 20 so with tax got the whole setup for right around $100. Should be good to go soon after they all arrive. Have to wait a week to get the Hohm Base but was able to find it for 38 which is the best ive seen while price checking.
