It's also a horrible price. You can get 15 flavors, nicotine and vg/PG for around $60 at Nicotine River. I love mine.

I did think I'd be able to find better flavors somewhere else but, excluding flavor, do you think it's a good kit for experimenting with diy?

I don't know how much nicotine costs cause I'm on 0 nic and I'll be attempting to make just my juice.

I do appreciate both responses!!!

It's what you need to experiment. But you may get turned off of DIY because the flavorings are not very good. You can get something exactly the same at basically the same price or a little less from DIY flavor shack. And the flavors are way better.

So disregarding what the flavors taste like, it's an okay price. Not great.

I'm with the gang here. You can get PG/VG and syringes at Bull City Flavors, top quality stuff, with a FAR better flavor selection. Even their smallest on the bases are bigger than what that amazon deal offers, and they start at $4.25. The syringes are $1.00 and under, just to piece it out.

Many of us shop Bull City, Ecigexpress, Nicotine River, RTS Vapes, Vaperstek, and some others that I've forgotten, I'm sure. You can probably get bottles and syringes for a fair price from Amazon and Ebay

I agree with everyone's suggestions but I'd add; find some recipes you think you might like and buy the flavors you need to make them. Loads of good ones in the recipes thread. Another +1 for Bull City.

Since you're doing 0 nic... you should be able to find everything you need fairly cheap. You'll just need VG, PG, measuring equipment (syringes/etc) and flavors. I do get my VG/PG on Amazon via Essential Depot because of Amazon Prime shipping... But flavor wise I would definitely go through a vape vendor. (Ecig Express, Bull City Vapor, Gremlin DIY, Wizard Labs, Diy Vapor Supply, etc)

Thank you!!! I did order the kit, (less confusing for me) and I will order flavors from a vape vendor. I do appreciate your response !

I have been researching the heck out of diy starter kits and they're all different. Some have beakers, flasks, & cylinders, others dont. Some have premixed vg/pg, others you mix yourself. I've researched all of the sites that were suggested to me. I'm so confused! It's easier for me to buy a starter kit but I just can't figure out which one. If I was to piece together my own starter kit, what do I need for experimenting? No nic, 70/30. Thanks in advance!!!

I just mix directly into the bottle the final mix goes into, I don't hassle with beakers, flasks, mixers or any of that. To me, it's just added mess to clean up. I like buying VG and PG separately.

I posted a video I saw somewhere in DIY Forum about how to make diy juice in three steps and he used pre-mixed VG/PG and very little supplies. It was pretty much like mix the liquids in a bottle, shake well and start vaping. Could this be DIY 2017?

I don't know the video, but it's that simple, yes. You CAN use premixed, but you don't have to. That's just a user preference. If you were to get a premix of PG/VG in your preferred ratio, then by adding flavorings, you'd be off a little, usually more PG than you wanted, unless you use VG flavorings. MOST, not all, companies do have their flavorings in a PG base.

Highly recommend buying flavours to mix recipes other people have posted and that sound good to you. Its the quickest and best way to learn whats up, if you get random flavours and try them you are just re-inventing the wheel and you will get some bad juice along the way. The work has already been done by someone else and shared.

The best starter kit is the one you build your own, with what you need and nothing else.

Some flavor manufacturers/suppliers offer flavor packs that could be a good idea for someone just getting started.
Here's an example:
https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/c-116-flavor-packs.aspx
http://www.ecigexpress.com/shop/diy...s/flavourart-usa/sampler-pack-flavourart.html

That's the advice I've been getting a lot so that's what I'm gonna do. I sent back the kit I order. Do you know what supplies I would need to diy, no nic, shake and vape e juice? I saw a video that was three easy steps. Thank you, nightshard!

It's VG/PG not PG/VG

Needing no nic makes in easier.
You would need PG, VG and flavors (note that most flavors are PG based).
You would have to either make a base of PG/VG with with a ratio to your liking that you would make juice from by adding flavor to, buy a pre-mixed PG/VG bland, or mix PG, VG and flavor for every batch/test.
You would need bottles to store juice, big ones for juice and small ones (10ml/5ml) for tests.
You would need a way to measure liquids, either by volume (pipettes/syringes/beakers) or by weight (a scale).
Stickers or a permanent marker, since having a lot of bottles with no idea what's in them is never a good idea.
As for flavors, get either samples of commonly used flavors or specific flavors for a specific juice recipe you want to make.

Thank you!!! I found some more info on supplies. Excluding the liquids, it's very minimal. Just a couple syringes large and small and the needles, and a few empty bottles. I'm gonna use the premixed vg/pg and flavors to start with. I'm getting really excited now!!! You all have been very helpful and I truly appreciate you!

I'm new to D.I.Y and I love it I built my own kit and then realized I really didn't need the flasks I got. As said above just the bottle you plan to use is good enough as your mixing vessel. I do have a frother I use to do my initial blend of my mix. Then I just shake it daily as it steeps. You can literally start mixing for around 40 bucks way less without nicotine.

One thing I highly recommend is a scale that can read grams to two decimal places. I find measuring by weight is a lot easier than measuring by volume.

I got mine off eBay for $6 shipped.

I've got a scale, but have not tried by weight yet. I like useing syringes so far to add my ingredients.

I used to be stuck on syringes till I finally tried a scale, so much easier.
Don't need to worry about washing them or cross contamination between flavors.
But I still use syringes for PG/VG/NIC, go figure:D.

Hi All, First and foremost, I want to thank all of you who offered your help, ideas, suggestions & yourselves, I am truly grateful!!! Okay, I went to the local DIY Flavor Shack to get a few supplies (one 10 mil syringe, two 5mil empty bottles, one 10 mil bottle of Watermelon concentrate flavor, one 3 mil bottle of enhancer Ice, & one small (can't remember the size) bottle of VG) and I spent less than $20. The rep for Flavor Shack, Bryant, Was so awesome in helping me when I told him how little I knew and what I wanted to try to do, he explained everything to me, then he said before I can leave the shop, he wanted to watch me make my first bottle of juice so he could correct me if I was gonna make a mistake. I thought that was really cool!!! So, I did it! I made my first 5 mil bottle of juice! And, I have to say it was pretty good. I called it, "Watermelon Chill". Now this is the best part, Bryant told me the 10 mil bottle of flavor with the VG could make approximately 170 mils of vaping juice! I have been spending between $16 to $25 or more, for 30 mil bottles! It cost me less than $20 to possibly make 170 mils. It's sad how much I've been ripped off but not anymore!!! It all seemed to be, "To easy to be true" but it really is that easy!

I agree. Excellent costumer service!!! I'm gonna let the store manager know it too. It seems a lot of times people can be quick to criticize, but when credit is due, people can be very quiet. He deserves credit!!!

Yes, yes, yes. Saves a lot of hassle for the cleanup portion of the evening. I would also agree that doing something like finding a couple highly rated recipes on a site like e-liquidrecipes.com that use flavors you could see yourself mixing with is beneficial. I bought so much stuff and so many flavors I didn't need at first. If you look around here I'm pretty sure I remember there being a really good thread on first time DIY in this forum.
