Forest mix?

I did an intial mix of 70/30 3mg nic.
Flavor art forest mix 5%
ecig x sweetener .2 %
Fresh cream .2%
tasted like shit so harsh this was a 30ml mix
So I upped my sweetner to .5%
still no good so then upped my forest mix to 9%
It's now starting to taste ok I know it needs some steep to so this is where I leave it any suggestions?
It was so harsh now the edge is gone and flavor is coming into it on French inhale.

sometimes its better to start working down than up. did you try your forest at 2% without sweetener or cream ? its always easier to add than try to work it out. :)

I started at 3% forest mix I had no flavor so I upped it does it need a decent steep? I agreeon start small and work up. I have just hit a wall with this flavor. I'm vaping it at .59 ohms at 25 watts as it tastes burnt at any higher I'm usually at 60 watts or higher. It tastes great and vapes great here I'm just curious as to what others have experienced with it.

This is my girlfriends favorite recipe. Really good after a week of steeping.

personally i dont much care for it so hardly use it. im to impatient for steeping lol. if i dont like something right away i just toss it and start over. but 9% for me would be way to much and would need to steep id imagine. toss it in a drawer and forget about it and try something new :) when you remember it again it will be nice and steeped.

My girlfriends favorite is 2% forest fruit and 4% vienna cream. No sweetener need and not harsh at all even at 6%nic. And I make all my juices 70/30 vg pg

I think I would find 60mg nic strength a bit harsh. Your GF is tuff

No. I haven't found that Forest Fruit needs much steeping... A couple days max unless you're using cream. Creams can take some time. Maybe the flavor just isn't for you... There are certain flavors that people just can't vape either because it's harsh, muted, tastes bad, etc.

IMHO FA forest blend is perfect at 3%, shake and vape. The only time I've had an issue with this flavor was when I first started out, and forgot to shake the bottle before measuring.

I'm one of those that can't stand that flavor at low percentages. It has an acrid pine sap sort of flavor to it (maybe this is the bilberry?). I was going to throw my bottle as far away as I could, when I came upon a review of it that said basically it was yucky at 2% (I was using .5% to 1.5%) but divine at 7%. So I figured what the hell, I'm going to throw it out anyway, so why not try it at 7%? And I LOVED it! All by itself, no other flavor needed, just 7% Forest Mix and it was great. So instead of throwing out my first bottle, I ordered another one, 4 oz. this time, and I use it a lot. One of my favorites is this juice mixed in my tank about half and half with Sweet Heavenly Cake (which I found on the recipes thread several months ago). It's also good with a sweet custard mix that I have. (I'm a tank-mixer - gives me almost infinite flavor options!)

I've often thought how strange it is that if I mix this 7% juice half and half with something else, I've dropped the Forest Mix to 3.5% of the total mix in the tank, and I couldn't stand it at anything below 5% by itself previously. I can't explain it, but it works for me now. :) It's a nice, cool, fresh berry flavor to me, not that awful pine sap from before.

What's a tank mixer?

It just means I mix juices together in my tank when I'm filling it, according to my mood. ;) Sometimes I like raspberry doughnut juice mixed half and half with cappuccino, and sometimes I feel like something a bit softer so I'll mix strawberry shortcake with the cappuccino. Or blueberry yogurt with mixed berry cheesecake. Or caramel custard with heavenly cake. I have so many different juices I've made of all different flavor profiles (fruits, creams, bakery, etc.) and I have fun mixing and combining them in my tank. Some juices or combinations I like better in the morning, some in the afternoon or evening, some I like better in summer, some I like better in winter. I'm a flavor butterfly! LOL! I'm never happy with just one flavor all day long. Sometimes in my combinations, I'll hit on a pairing that REALLY tastes good, and then I work it into a new recipe. :)

I like that approach very much. How long have you been mixing? How long did it take before you had developed your sense of taste and understanding of flavors before you were able to do this without poisoning yourself?

LOL! Luckily, I've never poisoned myself, which if you knew me, you'd say was a miracle! For instance, my tank was drooling this morning and when I went to blow out the excess into a tissue, I got a ricochet RIGHT into my eye! Good thing there wasn't much nic in that, or it would have stung but good. Anyway, I started mixing juice about 2 months after I started vaping, so (hang on, I'm thinking...) about a year and a half ago. I started out with simple one-flavor fruit mixes, then started mixing two flavors, like two complementary fruits or a fruit and a cream or mint/menthol or something. When I realized how freaking EASY it was, not to mention cheap, I started collecting recipes and trying them out. Some of them stayed the same because they were good, and some of them I tweak to my personal preference.

My tastebuds came back to life after a couple of months, I guess. It was about the time I started getting into more complex recipes that I started to be able to taste them, so the timing was perfect. ;) As far as understanding the flavors, I just got a feel for them as I used them. I have many different creams, for instance, but I know which to use when I want a light cream finish (fresh cream), or a more heavy frosting-like cream (Vienna cream or Bavarian cream), or an intriguing spice-tinged cream (Catalan cream). I just used what other people recommended in their recipes at first, and over time I was able to decide for myself which flavor could be well substituted with some other flavor. It's like cooking with spices. :)

Thanks for the informative reply. I've been vaping 4 months and mixing for two. I've been doing recipes and tried a few of my own. I'm concerned at the moment with learning the flavors as my taste returns. It's slow going, but I have noticed that I'm now discerning different flavors within a juice. It's an interesting hobby. Just the other night I caught myself actually analyzing something I was eating, which normally I never really think about.

Thanks again.

My dad does the same thing. It's his form of DIY... I make the eliquids and he mixes them together in the tank.
