Taste Testing

I am getting ready to start making my own eliquid/ejuice, stuff is on it's way to me. What is the best way for testing for taste after mixed? I have searched and seen some say dripping onto a mesh wick then dry burning it to clean for next test has anyone done this. I would hate to have to keep re wicking every time.

You could do that. I typically just burn off as much juice as possible before trying a similar flavor (fruits with fruits, etc) and only rewick with cotton if the flavors are extremely different... But if you're using mesh, it would be even simpler. I've never had luck with mesh, otherwise that method would be ideal.

im like @Rin Vapes........cant completely dis miss going through all the work of re wicking for learning flavors. anything left behind will make some change somewhere.. I used to have this big ritual that took like 30 mins every flavor lol. but for me personally it turned into overkill and normally it takes some time to break in a fresh wick so you just get crazy results until the wick is good.....if its just for some random mix that i made and Im trying which is more often now since Ive single flavor tried pretty much everything i have I just vape it on top of whatever else Im vaping. once you start getting close to where you are trying to go with it then start getting OCD on it. ....

now for some rambling because i like to do that if that wasnt eniugh.

I say the best way to taste test a juice is to vape 10mls of it. taking a few toots really isnt going to give you many details about it. for me anyways. I like to puff on it and take my time. pick out what i like and dont like and think about what i can do different, no juice is so terrible you cant vape 10mls lol.

if you are working on your signature flavor for instance every drop of what you make is important because it gets you to the next step and you will go through maybe hundred of variations so no sense in wasting any along the way. in all the years I have been mixing Ive only ever dropped the mic one time and said thats it, its over and it took me years to get there so dont put a lot of thought into making perfect juice and just have fun with it.

welcome to the club :) I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do here :)

Eh, don't get all OCD with it...

Maybe have like, two drippers wicked... one for fruity, one for nutty flavors...

When it's time to try a new flavor, get the old one mostly out by doing one or two fills with some pure VG. Vape until nearly dry, your cotton should be good enough to taste another... though i would wait until the second fill after the VG to truly make an evaluation... because the first fill will have significant residual VG on there.

This is what I've done... works fine.

Well...in that case...I noticed that FA Bread Crust is on sale for only .99 !!

http://www.ecigexpress.com/shop/diy...essert-flavors/bread-crust-by-flavourart.html
(Please ignore the flavor reviews there. What do they know? :blah:)

I'm thinking it could be a nice thing to mix with FLV Brie ? :anyone:

No need to thank me....

I vaped so much of that one I got burned out on it. haha. trying to get that bread was painful to say the least but right when i was about to give up HIC told me to make a dilution. bam problem solved. it still wasnt a top shelf by most standards but just finally getting something vapeable was good enough for me and I showed it off everywhere .

Since the FA Bread Crust was listed as a "Liquidation", it could of an age that it might be the same batch you already have experience with. Certainly an added bonus! :)

I was thinking.."How bad could it be" and considered adding it to my order but ...failed.

yep this is exactlly what I do...I build the wick in a dripper,I make the ss mesh roll shorter than I would normally for a mesh wick in a dripper. I can dry burn it, and get onto the next flavor...mesh will give me a better idea of the profile of the flavor.and it dry burns better than silica...

Real Flavors Bread isn't bad honestly... I can't and won't attest for Flavour Art's version though. If it's anything like joy, I HARD pass.

Drop kick that one! FA Bread Crust really is as bad as most say it is. Will survived the dilution, I had to throw all of it away.

Some flavors are meant only for cooking, can't and won't ever be good for vaping, like: bread crust, crab, pizza, etc..

Pizza can be good... I've had a lovely pizza vape. Not an ADV but nice for something different and definitely better than you would imagine. (if you like Pizza combos, you'd probably like it)
