Looking for recommendations on my first RDA / RDTA setup.

Hello all,

I'm looking to get my first RDA or RDTA set up and I was wondering if I could get your recommendations on what would be best for my situation. I am mainly a MTL vaper but can direct lung as well if I'm in the mood. I prefer flavor over clouds, but would love to have the best of both worlds if possible. I prefer smooth over a big throat hit and I prefer a cooler vape as I find a lot of heat makes for a harsher hit, especially when going direct lung. I am currently using two Joyetech AIOs and a Joyetech eVic VTwo with the Cubis Pro tank and I use 0.6 ohm MTL coils in all of them. I'm currently making my own liquid, usually 50/50 at 6 to 9 ml nicotine.

I think a RDTA would be a better choice for me over RDA, as I'll be using this on the go at times. As long as whatever device I get is fairly simple and easy to use, I should be good. I have no experience building coils but would like to eventually get into that aspect. For that reason, I'd like a device that I can also purchase pre-built coils for. Recommendations on coils and wicking material would be appreciated as well. I'm thinking a variable wattage mod would be the way to go, but I'd like thoughts on it as I'm unsure. Regardless, I would like the mod to have a cylinder form factor.

Cheers,
Chris

Avocado22 in single coil mode.. for the mod what ever strikes your fancy.... I use mine with a mech or my Pico 75.

The perfect setup for me would be a regulated squonker. Vape and form factor of your favorite dripper no dripping.

I picked up the GeekVape Avocado Special Edition the other day and am super impressed with it. First RDTA I have tried. For the price I paid $28 CDN I had to. Flavour has been amazing. Wish I bought an RDTA a while ago.

Genius style tanks have been the flavor kings from almost day one... but the originals tend to be tricky to build and mostly all tight MTL vapes. Unless midified.. It was only natural once people got used to the messy dripper. To reintroduce the Geni tank under a dripper atty.

I vaped the original Avocado on a comfortable dual coil build at 230W, I have no idea what Avocado you used, but it's not even possible to get a real MtL off of it. It may not have tons of airflow, but it has PLENTY for lung hits. Even the first modern RDTA, the Haze Dripper Tank, had plenty of airflow for lung hits and clouds.

Kinda SOL for a MTL RDTA as they're mainly for DL. The avacado 24 (skip the bottom flow version) is your best bet if you can still find one.

As for an RDA, spend the money on a Hadaly as it'll do you proper for flavor chasing. Juice well is shallow though (it's built more for squonking)

Your right there are very few MTL tank out these days... some get close..

I use a 22...... 24 was too airy for me. 22 gives a pretty reasonable MTL hit sucking through the block only when using a Long tight Drip tip.

I've noticed the only real MtL tanks coming out anymore are those $120+ obscure Kayfun style tanks. The springomizer seemed interesting enough.

What build are you using? Couldn't seem to get good flavor on it. Wick seems to be moist all the time. All builds on it were 3 mm so far.

Tried a tiger coil and SS round wire so far. Although I seem to have killed my taste again so I'm not sure. Can't get good flavor on my 3 mods with flavor centric atomizers (merlin mini, serpent alto, serpent RDTA).

Oh just to add.. the serpent RDTA is by far a lot easier to wick than the other tanks I have mentioned. Consider that one too. Lots of reviews on it now on YouTube.
