First you need to download Escribe. Then you basically just need to set up one of your profiles for Power mode if it doesn't already have one. That's easy enough to do.

Here's one of my Profiles for TC. You will notice the Temperature Dominate box is checked and the off box is not. For me to make that a Power Profile, I would just uncheck the Temp Dominate box and check the off box. After doing that click on Upload Settings to device at the top of Escribe to save the changes to the mod.

That being said, you should have a Power Profile already on the mod. I don't have that mod but on my Therion 166, it's profile #5 (I think most, if not all newer DNA's come with a Power Profile). This is what it looks like in the General tab of Escribe

You're welcome. If you need any help, feel free to shoot me a PM. On Evolv's site, there are some themes posted. There are also some other ones on the Internet if you Google DNA Custom Theme (or something like that). Here's a few places to try:

Hey @Nelg88 ... I'm not DNA Steve, nor do I use my DNA mods in power mode, but I *think* that if you set an inconsistent or incorrect set of settings for the coil, the mod will automatically recognize that and will only work in power mode, regardless of what you set it to. I know I've gotten the message "off" several times when I was setting my mod incorrectly. The chip "knew" the settings would not work for temp control so it just turned it off when I hit the fire button.

I'm sure @Wingsfan0310 will be along shortly and provide a much better explanation / answer than I did. Hopefully I'm not too far off target if I wasn't exactly right.

Here are the "POWER MODE" settings that were in Steve's profile that he gave me.
Safely ignore the "power" watt settings, that is just where i'm running my atty at currently.
Set that to what ever your coil supports that you have in your SMOK tank.

If you don't already have it, you could get the RBA section for one of your Smok tanks. Get some stainless steel wire, wrap a simple single coil and give TC a whirl.

Of course, there is a bit more to it than just wrapping a coil and throwing it in there but not much.

What KA wire gauge do you have? A simple dual coil in the BB will work out just fine. Keep it a simple macro coil at 3mm ID and it will be good to go. The build deck "looks" small, but it really a decent sized build deck. Not a 22mm, but not tiny either.

I prefer SS wire because of it's versatility. It can be used in either TC or Power mods (I only vape in TC now). It can be dry burned to check for hot spots and be cleaned (I don't dry burn Ni200 or Ti01 - the other popular TC wires). I prefer SS430 because it has about a 50% higher TCR than SS316. A higher TCR means a greater change in resistance as it heats up. That makes it easier for the mod to sense and be more accurate (to me provides a better TC experience). I'm not saying SS316 is bad, I just prefer SS430. I get mine here:

If you want SS316L, Temco is a good place to get it.

I use 28ga in the SS430 because the next size they sell it in is 22ga iirc (22ga is way to thick imo). If they sold it in 26ga, I would try that. I would say 26ga or 28ga. In TC, I don't want or need big beefy coils. A lot of it comes down to personal preference.

Steve

Not to derail the thread, but I've been meaning to get a spool of the 430, how do you like it @Wingsfan0310 ?

It's what I normally use, so I like it a lot. The only negative at all is it's springy. That's solved easily enough by lightly torching what I'm going to use it with a regular Bic lighter before coiling. I just get it to glow slightly and move on down the wire. Once you do that, it's very easy to work with. It's not absolutely necessary, but I do it (It takes out the springiness).

Cheers,
Steve

I was discouraged as well when I saw the size of the deck. I thought it would be impossible. Especially with being a building noob. But buying/replacing coil heads got to be too much. So I gave it a shot. It's not that bad, and I think the flavor is great. I've never had a dry hit, and minimal leaking (only if I throw it in my bag and it's tilted, upside down, banged around). Once you get your build in there, wicking it it is pretty simple. Good luck!! I'm new to the DNA world myself......so much to take in.
