Reuleaux 2/3 back cover issue

So I just unboxed my new 2/3 and put two batteries in it. I'm trying to use it in the two battery mode with the smaller backing. However, I can't get the back on it. The three battery back snaps on without any problem, but the two back doesn't. I'm loathe to force it, out of fear that I'll break it. When I compare the backings, the hooks at the top of the third battery backing stick out further than the other, which is what I think the problem is.

Do I have a defective back? If so, what can I do about it?

If you have narrowed down the problem to the hooks on the door, then you may want to try contacting Fuggin Vapor and see if there is anything they can do to assist. Maybe they can send you another door, or maybe swap out the mod completely. It may be that the hooks are supposed to be that way and it will require a little extra pressure to get the door on.

I don't own a 2/3 yet, but I have played with one several times at the local vape shop. I have NOT compared the hooks on the door, but what I can say is that the door was a very tight fit. If the hooks go in, and catch, then I would say they are likely in tolerance and should work. I did have to apply a bit of pressure to get the door on the one I was playing with, it was very tight. It may help if you get the hooks in and then hold down the release button on the bottom while you are closing the door, at least until the fastener catches.

I tried all of that. It's clearly that the hooks don't reach into the holes far enough to catch. I've sent an email to Wismec support to see if they can do anything about it. We'll see. *fingers crossed*

Nah, it's not defective if the hooks are still there. It's just a pain in the ass. My first time I thought the same as you. Place the top so that the hooks are just at the bottom of the slots. There should be a mm or two between the top of mod and the cover. Bring the cover almost parallel to the mod and push in while sliding up, but just a little bit. You won't hear nor feel it, at least I don't. Then push it in as you slide your hand downwards towards the bottom of the cover. It's really a piss poor design, but once you do it a few times, it's no longer an issue.

the 2/3 is very dodgy mine does not fit right either I never cared and just use it in 3 battery mode it was a terrible design and idea

If nothing else works, then I suggest Duct tape, it works to fix EVERYTHING! :D

Thanks guys! I finally managed to get it on a few minutes ago, with @bobnat's suggestions. I didn't want to push too hard originally out of fear that I'd snap them off, but by pushing up and in at the same time, it finally snapped in. Now I'm afraid to open it again to take the batteries out to recharge. lol

I was thinking of saying screw it and just using the three battery back but I have two married sets of batteries and two singles not paired, so I was hesitant to put any three together. My next purchase sometime down the road will probably be another six batteries so I can have two sets of 3 married.

*sigh* All this is getting to be too much for my brain. I'm not smart enough to do this. LOL There's no way I'm ever going to attempt to build my own coils and it's highly unlikely that I'll ever DYI my own juice. Neanderthals are smarter. :D

It may be my imagination, but it seems to work better than my Alien. The same juice in the same tank seems to taste a little better, and the draw is easier and smoother at the same wattage (both in VW mode). It also fits in my small hand a little better with the rounder design. The crappy backing notwithstanding, it may be my new favorite. :)

it could work even better if you put custom firmware on it like this it increases the functionality to extreme levels its called ClockSelect

Is it easy enough for even a 'tard like me to figure out?:)

Glad you got it...it'll get easier. I enjoy mine very much. There's a thread here for updating the firmware. I did it a few days ago and it has some great changes. My favorite is it reduces the terminal speed when changing power levels.

Ok, got it installed. For some stupid reason, though, I can't get the clock and calendar settings to stick. They keep going back to zeros. :(

Tried that. The GitHub page says hold the fire button to save. Tried that, too. Tried both about a dozen times. It's not a deal breaker, just thought it'd be nice to have on there.

Still couldn't get the damn thing to work, so I downloaded the ArcticFox NFE Toolbox, reinstalled the .bin and went through the settings on my computer. Then when I downloaded it, voila! :stars:

Thanks so much for the help, guys!
