Could you guys help me out with how kuch cotten to use wicking. I seem to not be able to get it right i have watched a few vids and it always seems like a good bit they use. Anyway can you guys show me your builds post up a quick pic plz

I don't have any pics but all you really need to know that your cotton should easily slide in place through the coils keeping in mind that it will expand when is soaks up your E-Liqluid

what atomizer are you using?
Generally 2-3times the width of your coil, should have a slight resistance when pulling through the coil. Lightly fluff your tails & cut to the appropriate length.

thats an RDA so you don't have to worry about having everything perfect. as long as you aren't choking the cotton or have too little you should be fine.
You should be able to move the cotton back and forth without pulling the coils, and at the same time not see any space between the cotton and the coils
Looks good, it might have a little too much cotton. Try it first, if you get dry hits you can always thin it out.
Try thinning it out. Take the coil ends out use something sharp, a pin will do if you don't have pointy tweezers & starting where the coil ends & pick through removing some bulk, then cut again & tuck in. Then take something & go under the coils moving the tool back & forth so air can go under the coils.

Keep at it; practice makes perfect. As for the flavor, there are many things than can affect flavor production adversely. Get the wicking down first, then you've eliminated one of them. If it keeps you away from the cigs, then you're doing alright.
It's kind of funny that I was just trying to help someone with this earlier today at work and thought if there wasn't already a thread discussion on wicking, that it was sorely needed.
The rule of thumb I learned the first day that I bought my first RDA and was shown how to build from the shopkeep is what I still use today. I was told that you should be able to grab the cotton on one side and when pulling very lightly, you should be able to drag your mod a bit on a table without the cotton coming out, but also should be able to grab each end of your cotton at the same time and be able to slide the cotton back and forth without the mod moving. Also, as mentioned above, you should have no wicking material underneath your coil(s) to help with airflow. Length is debatable...I've always heard that your "tails" should be lightly touching the deck, but as long as you don't have it crammed under the coil(s) and it's not dragging on the inner wall of your top cap, you should be golden. Obviously vape style and type of coil and Mod will cause you to have to alter things a bit (such as I wick very heavy on my series box builds to avoid dry hits at all costs), but what you've heard about less is more is generally a true statement...I've noticed way too many folks that are very knowledgeable and awesome builders but choke the life out of their coils with overwicking...someone once told me to think of it like a dishrag...how much water will it absorb if you have it twisted up and pulled tight versus just lightly held together? Makes sense!

I run my cotton through my coils tight enough that I have to hold the coil or it will deform, why?
- Better Wicking, I can essentially vape till my cotton is almost white
- No spitback, I have zero issues spitback this way. If cotton is loose through the coils it get's spitty
