Episode 48 Overview | Totally Vaping Awesome Show

Today's episode began with Mooch hyping upcoming events, including the TVA guys appearing on other programs and talked about future guests. Mooch mentioned that CJ and Andrew of Vapor Trail would be joining them and talked about how much he enjoyed their videos.

The topic quickly shifted to Freeze, however, when Mooch mentioned that Freeze had gone on a date last night. Mooch went into full interview bliss discussing Freeze’s meeting of the new lady and how their date came about.

Freeze discussed meeting her at Vapemania and not being able to meet her due to other ladies asking him out at the same event. This prompted Mooch to discuss the unfair position freeze had been put in; being asked out on a date in front of a crowd of eager convention attendees.

“If you say no you look like an asshole…” Mooch moved onto the way that Freeze met his previous evenings date and found it strange that they struck up a conversation on Instagram. This immediately made Mooch assume dirty pictures were involved (which Freeze denied multiple times throughout the segment.)

In a world where vaping shows happen over someone's "my first microphone" sony play set; I can assure you that our production quality is is in the top two of any vaping broadcast on the market. It's professionally produced in studio. So...ya know...what the fuck are you talking about?

My weekly average of listeners is between 14 to 20 thousand (depending on guests and such) and our material is completely different than most shows. We are an entertainment alternative for vapers.

Had you listened to the show you would have heard pre-written bits, segments and orchestrated chunks where we've meticulously crafted the program.

Alternatively to that; you should have a grasp of what the material is prior to having a visceral reaction but oh well. But this guys argument on the quality podcasts is total fabrication.

Well I figured out why they were so mad they probably guage their stats on how many actually press the start button of their podcast of course they forgot to mention I" M guessing 80 % pressed the stop button They will never show up on Mod Envy I want to see that... I realize this is essentially walking down the rabbit hole of dumb... That said... I've got a cottage there, so here goes:
Yes... listens are counted by who listens. I'm not sure what you gauge listening as but the nielsen ratings does it the same way...

Also we seem to have the same play amounts weekly and they gradually increase. That would indicate repeat listeners, thus defeating your theory...although I do hope new listeners try it often. There are many podcasts...some are not for me... I don't make it a point to publicly disclaim that- but that's just a 'me' thing. I just go on to something else.

Next... We've been on mod envy multiple times. I could give less than one fuck flying out of a cannon as to whether or not you believe what my work and appearance schedule looks like. Likewise, Joe has been on our show multiple times and we sponsor each other's projects. I'm a sponsor here at the underground and he is sponsoring our next event vaperslam. He's a friend of the show...you may recall the commission clip he played recently? That was ours. It was a bit from our program.

Thirdly, in terms of how I conduct myself; I couldn't imagine lacking the testicular ingenuity one must suffer to aimlessly attempt public humiliation on someone, especially when that person didn't ask for my opinion up front.

I'm not sure if you just didn't listen to the introduction, but the podcast disclaimers itself as being not safe for work "entertainment" (i.e. not news, Christian content, instructional or to be listened to without man pants). There are quite a few shows in the podcast world that do the same thing. You wanna hear a podcast about pizza reviews and football? They make that. You wanna know about b movies from the sixties...they have that too. Government conspiracy more your speed; podcasts galore. All of them rated "R" and all doing just fine.

There is no set way and no need to be direct emulations of other things.
All truth be told; this argument hinged on the idea that you didn't listen to the show and somehow, felt compelled to give it a rating. Then you said you did listen to the show and that the "vaping underground" is a place where you hold sociological experiments, this one being, lying in public and how people react to it.

Whatever the case...the show isn't for you. Or maybe it is... maybe you'll listen to them all, get all ramped up and bothered, drive yourself silly on how badly you hate it and never miss an opportunity to spout nonsense when the chance presents itself. Either way you obviously have less than a clue about what you're talking about (although I'm sure that's part of the ongoing 'vaping underground' hypothesis binder you're keeping) and it really doesn't make a difference. The show wasn't for you. No big deal my man.

How do you handle being heckled? Send flowers? I told the guy it wasn't necessary to condemn the show in public by stating he didn't hear the show.
Other than that- he made some false statements, I rectified the statements he made and we've moved on.

I don't mind engaging the audience, man (edit: or non audience). Some statements are better to be ignored than others. Had I let go, I would have never gotten to the gem about 4 minutes meaning "yes I really listened," and we would have all missed the Alice in chains pic. Had he said, "this isn't for me, moving on..." I wouldn't have engaged.

Look man, there's a fair amount of people in the world who never attempt anything based on people acting like overt assholes for no reason. I have show listeners tell me all the time; if it weren't for the rapid negativity that some folks live off of, they would have already created something. As sure as this guy has the right to say he shut it off before topic one, I had the audacity to respond.
So what?
It's likely that more people listened. If even for the wrong reason. More power to them. If the show reaches one more person that finds enjoyment in it then all was good.
I appreciated this guy's reaction...I just openly found it silly. Lots of good threads are rooted in disagreement.
I created the thread to TALK about it. So, it happened to go down that road first. It happens.
