Yup it's getting bigger (that's what she said) kanger out of all companies is dropping a 5 battery mod (but it only does 222 watts)

design looks similar to the lux with a chip on the top of the mod

Wtf... it's actually a nice looking mod, but come on! Just hook up a car battery and get it over with.

Looks legit as far as it lasting all day running at 150watts plus. And I already own 11 batteries, but 5 of them work suboptimally

With the display on the top you'll get all the mood lighting you'd want all up in yo grill when you hit it!

Ah, good point..

I think also the "glass discoloration" feature could also be leveraged to diffuse the welding arc produced in the (selectable) coil pack. This could also serve as the basis for a mood lighting feature.

Sweet!

Betcha within about 8 months after the first one is sold, this mod and anyone close to it will make headline news.

We all know what kind of damage a venting battery can do. And Kanger is multiplying that by a factor of 5:eek:!!

It is almost guaranteed that some Noob (no offence intended) with more money than common sense is gonna buy the thing, a Trustfire 6 bay charger, then charge and his brand new E-Fest 3,000 MaH :)rolleyes:) and just have a vape party. Perhaps while drunk he goes to get into his car and the battery is dead.

BUT WAIT! I have a device right here that can produce a total of 15,000 Mah:stars2:!

So I should be able to rig something up with the charger cord thingy and my battery cables and start this puppy right up!

If I had one, it would be for when I am working at my desk.. Or beside my comfy chair but that would be about it. I mean the size and the weight, for me anyway, would just be a complete PITA!

Just get yourself a nice, dual battery regulated 200 watt mod, attach the USB charging cable to a wall wort and use it in passthrough mode:idea:

Heck, I even installed a permanent wall wart and a nice and long USB cord at both my desk and comfy chair. I think the total investment for BOTH was like $7 because I had to order the longer cables. I even have the same set up in my car. That one from my collection of spare "STUFF"

Fok's, when is enough enough?

Legal Vape 2000 anyone?

Never enough for some. You gotta out do your neighbor...right. Neighbor ...boom You ....BOOM.

I'm in favor of innovation and new things but this is nether. Kanger should make a chip that is updatable and does TC well not repackage what they have.
Agreed. Or stick to what they are good at; small, inexpensive starter / all in one kits. Love my dripbox and still use my Subox mini kit.

Oh yes, the flames also make for nice mood lighting!

Thanks for the post. Made me laugh.
First i would need to buy a 6 bay charger. Then…
Need 10 batteries. That way I have a fresh set ready to go.

Sent from somewhere in Vietnam.
I do actually have 11 batteries, a 6 bay charger, and a 2 bay charger lol. I used to to run out of power all the time when out and just lazily buy new batteries all the time. I no longer have that problem lol

Maybe a sign the company is worried of explosions and has designed it to be parallel wired? I mean a lot of people just stick 3000mah batteries into these devices, is this just their way to cover their ass?

First legitimate review of the 5-6. Not for me, but it's sure innovative. The tank is unreal! Triple coils that you can select whether you want to fire 1,2 or 3 coils at a time.
Amazing this came from Kangertech.

I think it is starting to get a little bit silly now- I remember when the Wismec DNA200 came out and I thought "THREE batteries? Are they serious?"- but I wanted, and got one.

Then the RX200 came out, and that as we know has done really well. I think with 3 batteries though, you already can get decent battery life at high power, that is unless you are vaping at say 200W.

For people that do enjoy to vape at 200W all the time, this would be ideal. I think that area is so niche though, this mod won't do very well at all. Add in the cost of marrying 5 batteries and I think that will put most people off.

Agreed ...think I'll happily stick to my dual battery mods

Beyond 3 batteries the pro of 'not having to recharge as often' versus the con of 'having to carry around a brick' balance seems to be suboptimal. But if you chain vape 200w+ all day I can see the point of owning one. A dual 26650 or triple 18650 will last me all day no problem so no desire for one.

This is stupid, when I got my wismec rx2/3 I didn't even use the three battery configuration. Anything above a duel battery just ends up looking big, clumsy & impossible to get a comfortable grip on. I get decent battery life out of my rx2/3 in duel battery config an I'm happy with that, five batteries is just idiotic!

These vape manufacturers are just making battery-operated, table-top vape mods and marketing them as portable.

Agree
This is true. Would it not make more sense for them to produce a table top mod that either ran from the mains with a AC-DC converter, or a big battery and pass thru?

I wonder if it is the issues with mains electricity that is stopping them. If a big mod, with batteries goes wrong, it would be easy to blame the batteries or user error, while if something went wrong connected to the mains I think it would be easier to prove fault with the design maybe?

This thing just seems way to bulky/heavy. I'd rather just set up a fricken hookah and only have to contend with a hose/tip.

Did a bit of quick math, 3fv suggests the smok alien weighs 200g, the ammit lists weight at 61g and 2x 18650's is around 90g for a total of 351g or 12.4oz sans joose. This five 6 mod without batts is 255g (so about the weight of the ammit + alien) but once batteries are added it comes out to around 480g. The 45g is an estimate for 18650's, vaping360 weighed the thing with batteries and got 475g for mod/tank/batteries. That's over a fricken pound of gear before you even add juice.

The extended battery life is a perk I guess, the color changing glass and coil selection with the included tank is spiffy I suppose. But over 1 pound? Pfft, I'm good. My alien isn't huge by any means but it's hefty enough. Gonna end up looking like quagmire after he discovered the internet.

Looks like a problem child, but then maybe kanger tech works out the flaws before retail. What bothers me is notice down in the base it has what looks like circuit board. What happens when juice leaks down there? Cause at some point its bound to happen.

I've only ever got juice into the battery section on my mechanical mods, I haven't actually had this happen with a regulated mod. I have had one tank dump its contents inside the mod though, it went into the side with the board though.

I managed to take the mod apart, and then use electrical contact cleaner, and it was fine. I would be more worried about juice flooding my battery bay with five batteries than getting it on the circuit board to be honest.

The fact that they didn't shoot for, well these days anyway, an insane max wattage is at least mildly encouraging. Don't feel like doing the math and googling all the specs, but they certainly are not significantly boosting voltage with 5 batteries, or else it would put out more than 222 Watts. I haven't read enough, but from the pictures It appears to be a parallel series orientation? 5 batteries doesn't make sense there though. Seems balancing would be difficult.

Too much? Yes. Doubt many will sell. And I gotta admit, Kanger releasing this isn't necessarily encouraging. But, at a 222 watt cap, they shouldn't be significantly over stressing those cells. I'm no expert though, and 5 18650's is just unnecessary, but hey, if someone wants it, hopefully it's safe, and more power to them...
