Problem with my Alien - Nevermind, I'm a dumbass

I've had my Alien for about 6 months now and its been working fine with no problems. Yesterday, I changed the coil in one of my Baby Beast tanks. When I put it on the Alien, I tried lowering the wattage (from 75) but it refused to go below 60w. The wattage will go up, though. Ok, fine, I'll try it at 60w. Tried taking a drag on it but it wouldn't work. The screen shows it firing correctly, but it's not actually firing the coils. Nothing's coming out. No typical sizzle sound.

I figure it's a problem with the coil, right? So I put one of my other Baby Beast tanks on it. Nope, same story. Tried the third BB tank. Still nothing. So I try them on my RX2/3. All work fine with no issues at all. Definitely a problem with my Alien.

Any ideas what it could be and/or how I can fix it?

I just did all of that and even reinstalled the software, only to realize I was a HUGE dumbass. It wasn't reading 60w, it was reading 6w. Slight difference. Once I ramped it up, it worked fine.

I have new ones. Fairly new, anyway. Can't see close up unless I take them off. Can't see past the end of my nose without them. It's a dilemma.

I have the opposite problem. Mild nearsightedness, mild astigmatism... but I had to start wearing glasses when my arms became too short. Without glasses, I can barely tell the truck is in "D" or "R". But I can't wear glasses to drive, because they make far stuff blurry.

I used to make fun of my mother. She refused to get glasses even though she couldn't see very well. I'd tell her that before long, she'd have to stand on a chair to read a newspaper on the floor. Got a good beating for that one.

At this point, I really need "real" glasses rather than drug-store cheaters.... and probably bifocals, given my problems when driving. Dadgummit. Real glasses cost a lot more than cheaters, and I'm cheap.

Hell yeah they do. I paid over $400 for mine, after insurance. And I seriously hate progressives. Lenses, not people.

Are they ones that get darker outside? That's what I want, because this musical-glasses thing when I go out or come in is driving me batshit. Also, for reading in the truck -- I either wear my reading glasses and get totally blinded by the sun, or wear my sunglasses and be completely unable to read anything, which is totally unsat IMO.

Ah! I've never had any kind of bifocals, so they all seem like they'd be a challenge to get used to.

The problem is that there is no line. With bifocals, you move your head up and down as needed. With progressives, it's different. You have to learn to keep your head still and just move your eyes up and down, as the sweet spot is only in the center. They're also progressive from side to side. At least mine are. I miss wearing contacts but just stop feeling the need for them once I stopped working since I rarely leave the house.

That's a good thing to know; since I currently just wear the cheaters, I'm used to the up and down motion of the head, to focus near or far, so the kind with a line would probably be easier for me to get used to. Maybe cheaper too?

Yeah, they're definitely cheaper. I have a hard time going from looking at my computer monitor to my tv, or from reading something to the computer monitor or tv. My eyes take several minutes to adjust to the different distances.

But my nearsightedness was never terrible; my astigmatism is worse, it gives me huge depth-perception problems (being behind me when I'm turning left can be a painful experience, I'm sure!); when I started becoming farsighted, it slightly corrected some of my nearsightedness, but only temporarily. Still, my distance vision is far better than my near vision -- I can manage ok without glasses, to drive or watch TV or whatever.... but the minute I need to focus on anything closer than 2-3 ft, fuhgeddaboutit, gotta have the glasses.

I got glasses and braces on the same day when I was 12. Yeah, my life sucked hard. My farsightedness has been getting worse and worse every year. In the next year or two, I fully expect not to be able to see anything unless it's printed on my eyeballs.
