Here's what I do for the Single Coil Deck.

I like using cotton Bacon because it has no taste, it doesnt taste like crap and if you dryhit it has better potential to hide that burned taste...plus it has a long life and its easy to manipulate!

Get a strip of cotton slightly .5 times bigger then the coil. Roll the end and pull it through the coil, if it has trouble getting through the coil remove some of the cotton...you should feel just a slight resistance pulling it through.

Cut the ends just after the deck, I like to cut them 3-4mm from the decks edge. Then use your tweezers or pick and fluff the tips as much as you can..

Push small bunches of strands into the pocket until its full but not packed...you want the cotton to be fluffy still and if there's alot of cotton thats not in the pocket thats okay....try cutting it so it sits on the deck around the opening...your holes should be walled with cotton so juice cant just flow in, it should be absorbed and pulled in. After you get it in the hole I like to push up just slightly up by the coil, this makes the tips in a arch pattern instead of a straight line with loose cotton on the bottom and tighter cotton on top...this makes all the cotton still loose and fluffy which helps with wicking and juice capacity in the cotton.

Paint your juice on until it is soaked then fire the coil for 1-2 seconds then drip more juice on it and repeat for 2-3 seconds....then cap it and fill it and you should be good to go.

Great review. I'm still getting used to it and struggling to adore it like I do the ijoy exo, whose flavour I find is far better. After painting the wicks, i put my tweezer in the juice well to make juice channels to prevent dry hits. Is that necessary? It stopped the dry hits. As far as coils are concerned, are SS 316L 0.4 aliens too much for it and what wattage would you use? Or would you go with flat twisted Kanthal 0.4 ohm?

I have a .49 coil in mine right now and I'm getting a great vape at 35 watts. So maybe try 40-50 watts and see how you like it.

Still getting used to RTA's but absolutely love the new ones coming out. The engine nano doesn't do it for me though. Love the ijoy exo single deck. amazing. Have the new Troll rta which is nice but prefer single coil rta's p.s your wicking tutorial seems to be spot-on. So many ways to wick RTA's. It'seems great craic experimenting with coils and wicking. love it

I wick it the same way Raymo2u does in this thread.

Just thinking, would this tank-for its size-be better suited to twisted Kanthal rather than big built coils? I must try it out...

Personally, I only use the single coil deck with no restrictor pin and I normally install a 3mm ID coil. That's the way I run it and I love the flavor I get. I pretty much only run SS in my RTA’S.

Cheers again for the tips. Get sick of the YouTube hype about stuff, it's hard to work out what's bullshit and what's not.

Thanks for all of the tips! I just got this RTA, and I'm having some leaking issues. I'm assuming it's my wicking. I'll keep doing it until I get it right. This is a very helpful thread. Thanks for the review!

If you are just trying to use a normal coil (for a regulated device) then I would suggest you make a 6 wrap 3.5mm ID Coil and use low wattage.
