Yep just write on the battery case with sharpie and clear wrap.My guess is they did what I've been wanting to do: rewrapped a pair of batteries in a clear cover

I used to mark mine with sharpie but it kept rubbing off after awhile. That's when I went with the labels. Got tired of re-marking them

If you look close at the positive ends (bottom left and top right) you can see the clear wrap edges where it's raised ever so slightly as it shrunk (shrank? lmao) around the insulator ring. One cool thing about clear wraps if you're patient, it's an easy way to do decorative batteries. I've seen folks cut out various comic art or band logos etc from paper and trim it to fit the battery. They roll it around the battery then slide it into the clear wrap so the design/art is under the wrap.
Bit of a pain in the ass though from one tutorial I watched since the paper with the design wants to shift while centering the battery inside the wrap. Have to work with it a little to get the artwork paper to play nice and stay centered between the battery and the wrap.
