Warning, long read, but I feel it is worth it.
I got into vaping at the beginning of 2015 with a cheap vape pen kit from a gas station, wow what a way to start. I quickly found this was something I like and wanted to give a better shot. I went to a local vape shop and after shortly speaking with some staff they suggested the Aspire Atlantis and the eLeaf iStick 50w.
I will mention that I only socially smoked cigarettes and was not coming to vaping as a means of coming off of smoking. I simply, in a kind of weird way, like the act of vaping. I like blowing thick clouds and just the act. I had no idea what I was doing and felt like this was a good starter. (I still have no idea what I am doing btw) I used this setup for quite some time and recently made a small change by purchasing a Tobecco Super Tank. I was unsatisfied with the performance so I went out recently and purchased a Smok Alien kit, 220w. I like this setup better, but my question is, I am wanting to get great flavor and thick clouds.
What can I change? Or, better yet, what SHOULD I change, if anything? I get pretty good vapor production with my current, new, setup, but I feel like I am still not getting this luscious flavor that I read about. I get good flavor, but I feel like I can still taste the strain of the coil. On my previous setup I was not made aware that coils burnt out as quickly as they did, granted you are hitting often, which I do. Also, I was not aware of voltage limits of coils, and I wonder if I was pushing the limits of the coils in my previous setup. I am more aware of the limits of coils and am not outside of the printed limits of the coils in my current setup, which I will mention is completely stock out of the box. I have not made any changes to the original Alien kit.
I really enjoy vaping, and I am really interested in learning more and more so that I can make informed decisions when choosing equipment. I have turned to forums because I do not feel like I get the information that I need at my local vape shop. I feel like they are knowledgable, but it almost feels as if they are just giving quick suggestions to get me to buy something. I also have found that I paid almost double for this kit as to what I could have gotten it for online. Making me wish I had come to forums sooner so that I could have gotten some different, possibly better, advice.
Keep On Vaping,
