PSA: Wismec Exo Skeleton: a new low in crap quality from Wismec. WARNING!!!

So apparently these have been venting people's batteries. a new low on the wismec quality for sure and much worse then a 510 popping. Officially wismec hasn't issued a recall but they probably should. While details are sparse one vape store (british ohm Stores) has issued their recall (and claimed wismec has as well but they haven't) telling people to return them

"just got mine a week ago and noticed that the board was beginning to melt at one of the battery terminals. Thank god this is a "see thru" mod so I could see the problem before it blew up in my face. Vape Royalty credited me the cost of the mod. Vape Royalty has top notch customer service as a side note. I'll post a pic shortly."

This isn't about a bad 510 that reads no atty, or drops out of tc. This is gonna result in someone getting hurt.

It’s devices like this which are to blame for the FDA attention the vaping trade is now facing. My niece had a house fire a few years ago due to some Chinese made hair straighteners which she purchased from Ali Express so from personal experience we really need a better quality Control than some of these eastern factories are providing.

Lucky you saw it mate and managed to do something about it quickly unfortunately there is going to be someone out there who isn't so lucky

Or at the very, very least send out a warning and STOP production and shipment of them until they figure out what the problem is.
Maybe they could offer a trade in program where you return this shitty mod for one of their other shitty mods that don't spontaneously combust.

A lot of companies do push firmware updates fairly soon after launch always worth keeping an eye out for them

Having said that those other devices don't spontaneously combust!

Both Wisemec and Lost Vape are cheap Chinese junk way overpriced. Especially with DNA. Get a high end custom and you won't be sorry. If you have to scrape the money or eat Ketchup packets you will still thank yourself. These Two companies put out nothing but pure trash. I know LV is proffered but it just has a whole other set of issues. If you want made in China I would not spend more than $30USD on anything. If you ant a $600++ custom you probably will thank yourself. I don't need this grief so A while back I quit it after hundreds of dollars on both these brands and only partake in customs now. I am not trying to be a jerk it is just I mean, well look at this thread! For the record I had 3 Triades vent new VTC5's(genuine). So not an option either IMO. Yes, i am harsh on things that suck and furthermore are very dangerous. I would rather blow myself up with a Mech since I know it will be my own fault.

Try fourth: when I used my RX300 for the first time, I immediately noticed that it smelled of hot electronics under heavy use with a very low resistance coil. And it makes a buzzing noise even when it's not being fired. And it heats up like a London appartment complex when you charge batteries through the USB port.

In short, this thing scares me. It hasn't caught on fire yet but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. You could say I'm not impressed...

Wismec, yes. But I have several Lost Vape mods and they're good quality products overall. I wouldn't call Lost Vape stuff overpriced Chinese junk - just overpriced and Chinese

Giraut, LOL. Regardless of quality It probably costs $3USD to make a Triade. The Efusion mini was actually a great mod. They probably discontinued it because it lasted! Their object is to have you constantly buying new ones and they achieve that without even trying. Be careful what you buy and you will ultimately come out way ahead financially. For $130+ I will never touch a Triade or Reuleaux ever again. Not to mention your safety.

KGuardian, A good one that is not incredibly expensive is AxisVapes. You can Google them. For the Extra $150 over a junk Chinese DNA Mod It makes sense. Since it will last or they willl promptly fix it. Instead of breaks in 3 Months or less and if you elect to have it repaired that is 3 Months as well
If you want to go big time TopHat Or Vicious Ant. Up to 3 Grand and not necessary. There are other nice ones too. Just Google custom Ecig Mods but I think Axis are the best value and not even to be compared with Chinese Mods of any sort. In the long run you actually save money. I have like 30 broken Mods. I got sick of it and now only buy reputable customs. Just make sure it is not some shady fly by night company. Check reviews. If getting a DNA the customs are all going to be Lipo as they should be. A YIHI board can take primary cells. Ie, 18650's. Not many places offer them though since the DNA is vastly better.

My Wismec Predator's 510 connector came out. ...just came right off on the tank.
I had to superglue it back onto my new fifty dollar mod.

I'm done with Wismec.

Sorry hellcatrydr. Unfortunately you are one of many who had this happen to them. Supposedly you can email wismec and they will replace it for you.

The problem is Wismec has never acknowledged this problem on their website, Facebook, Instagram or any other social media. They are doing the same thing with the exo skeleton. Unfortunately with the exo skeleton, someone can get seriously hurt.

No, Thank yourself. When you get a Mod that will last. Sure it is about 400 bucks but figure how many Chinese $50-$150 Mods it will outlast. I have not opened them. If the battery dies in 2 years and it is wired just put an XT30 on it. The Balance is already a plug. I would almost be positive it has an XT30 though. I also bet if good Lipo's last 2 years on average, It will last for 5 Battery changes at least. So in the long run you are saving a fortune actually. People are penny wise and pound foolish. Unless things drastically change you should never need anything other than a DNA200/250. I highly recommend get the 250 for $10 more.I had many,many junk Mods. I got tired of it. Bought a few customs and the quality difference is readily evident to begin with. If anyone thinks a Triade/Therion is nice they have no clue. Not trying to be a jerk but actually help people here. You will save big time in the long run.

Edit: You know Jaybo is not a real person, right? AHH Those sly Chinese. Just screwing us in Established Countries. Actually Chinese workers are getting screwed worse but that is a whole 'nother story HAHA.
