In UK news today the government has announced how successful it’s smoking ban in public/work areas has been over the last 10 years.
Apparently since this ban the number of recorded smokers has been reduced by a staggering 1.9 million which is definitely an epic figure.
This article makes absolutely no mention of vaping and the impact it’s had which in my opinion is responsible for these amazing figures and not the ban which certainly did not change anything other than the moving of smoking areas in pubs/clubs/bars from inside to outside.
This law simply saw outside smoking areas get EXTREMELY busy and almost certainly did not trigger anyone to quit.
These politicians are now taking the credit for the positive effect vaping has had in this country whilst blatantly failing to credit ecigs in any way, shape or form.
What does everybody have against vaping and the miracle cure it seems to be? Before vaping the government did nothing but complain about smoking and saw them spending millions of tax payers money creating useless anti smoking products which simply did not work. Now we all share something that works finally and it seems to be a taboo subject...

Non-smokers look at us and see "smoke" so we are still just smokers to them. They are incapable of differentiating between the two and don't care to learn more about it because it doesn't apply to them.

Smokers look at us and think the same thing.

Politicians see this as an opportunity to justify 'sin' taxes and other such conditioning tactics ... not to mention, whether deserved or not, they thoroughly enjoy patting themselves on the back. ;)

I had two idiots I work with this week spout off their ignorance on the subject to me. One a smoker told me I hadn't quit anything because I was vaping and there was no proof or enough information to prove it was any safer than tobacco. The other a supervisor told me it was worse than smoking.

Our company's stance is that use of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco, vaping in any form is smoking. You are only allowed to do any of those in designated smoking areas. It is prohibited in company vehicles or your personal vehicle if being used during work hours.

There is no doubt that smoking is far more harmful to your health than any e liquid out there however, most non vapers that I have spoken too all seem to believe that there could be chemicals in e juices that could cause health issues. This seems to be a very common belief amongst non vapers. I do agree that juice brands should be “cleared” and certified for safe use to prevent some of the dodgy brands out there using chemicals that sit in the grey area of vaping but comparing it to the chemicals found in a burning cigarette is ridiculous and is miseducating people against the benefits of vaping. People tend to focus on the negatives rather than the positives, even when there is no “real” evidence of negative factors.

Vaping has always been bad for tobacco business so welcome to demonocracy.

Major tobacco companies have already shown an interest in the vaping market and will no doubt start producing their own products or buying up already established vaping companies.

The primary reason why major tobacco companies have shown interest in the vaping industry is because they and their corrupt political friends seek to nearly destroy it first before they will take control of what's left of it, and, after that, that's when they will revitalize it until it will grow into another huge money making machine that's theirs, and theirs alone to control as they see fit.

They have already started buying the industry up. Vapor beast and I believe who ever makes the space jam brand were bought out. I'm sure there have been more and will be more to come.
