I've had this for about two weeks and it functions well, except the firing button feels rough and scratchy. I've cleaned it as best I could but not much different. My question is...will the Fat Daddy magnet upgrades resolve the issue or should I be doing something else?

I have a fasttech stingray and I had to change out the magnets I used fat daddy magnets, and my switch is smooth as butter, but I also took everything apart and did the "pencil" lube on all the threads but I can't really say if it's the magnets or not.

I just took my switch apart and didn't see much more you can do, but I did rub a pencil graphite on the parts that move. still smooth as butter.

I'm having hot button issues with my sting ray x clone, not really hot, but very warm...I've cleaned it thoroughly and its very smooth. The throw is very short and the button heats up after one or two pulls..any one have any suggestions that may fix this?

You tube has so many fixes for the Stingray scratchy button. Before doing anything drastic take it apart and see what you find ( don't lose the rice pin!).
Mine was real dirty inside with gunk and machining debris. Works better now than when I first bought it 3 months ago.

What is your build resistance and what kind of battery are you using?

I'm using 24g A1 kanthal , at .2omhs and using vtc4s and 25rs...
Erh, are your batteries fully charged or at least half charged? And you're not chain vaping? What does the 510 pin on your atty look like? Does it protrude slightly beyond the connection threads?

Oh yea, fully charged batts and I've tried several different attys ..but none with the pin sticking very far beyond the threads. I made sure that all the connecting parts are flush with no gaps as well..I actually have two Xs ..one is ss, and one rainbow. The stainless one is like a rock, dependable and hard hitting..it's the rainbow that had the hot button issue. I just can not figure out what is up with it?

Re: 510 pin. If the pin is recessed, allowing the threaded encasing (negative) to make contact with the battery it may cause a short. Something else you can try is to narrow it down to a certain part: unscrew the bottom cap of the rainbow and put it on the ss. Does it heat up on the ss? Try the ss bottom cap on the rainbow and see what that does, if anything. Having two Stingray Xs at least allows you to use the process of elimination easily enough.
