For a number of years I bought into the BS of copper threads would not hold up, they stunk like dirty pennies, turned your hands green and everything else that was said. I prefer patina so only occasionally polish the exterior of my copper stuff, I keep it clean but not polished. Maybe it has to do with individual body chemistry, but for me absolutely none of it is true.
Never had issue with copper threading holding up, never had smelly hands or mods, never turned my hands any colors. I have a fairly large number of mods in all metals, but prefer copper. Cheap clones or expensive authentic, no issue. I wipe them down pretty much everyday, keep them clean thats it.
Internally is a bit more work, but not that much. Atties aren't much different, I clean them about as often as any other.
