Ordered a 24mm Tsunami and a Goon 1.5 RDA. What type coils should a novice dipper attempt to start? I want to use SS wire, just unsure of gauge style. Any recommendations on sources of info for beginning coil winders? What's a good wicking material to use also. I have a Smoke Proctor mod I am currently using.

To start, use premade coils. For stainless steel coils you can check out advance vape supply. Fused claptons are very popular, highly rated and gives really good flavor.

They also have a nice sample pack for you to try different types of wire.

If you want to make your own coils, you can buy wire from either of these stores. Start with simple round wire. Then try twisted wire. Then graduate to more complex wires.

VERY IMPORTANT:
Use steam-engine.org or a phone app to help determine ohms of your build. Build safely. Know what the limits of your gear is to include batteries.

For regulated mods and in my OG Goon I picked 7 wraps of 28x3/36 triple core fused claptons. They worked great. From AVS

You made 2 very good choices... I recommend Clapton coils, either fused, stapled, alien, or whatever.. it has greatly increased surface
area for your juice to soak into and vape.. it gives you great flavor..
Are you going to get into wrapping your own?

Yes I will be giving wrapping my own coils a shot. Ordered a coil wrapping tool and cotton. Will order some wire after I try out some pre made coils in a couple of different gauges/wraps. I am really liking the whole vaping experience. Actually took a puff from a cigarette and found it nasty. I vape a lot more juice than I expected, but I enjoy it.

I ordered some pre made coils from as yesterday. Tried a few different gauges and coil Numb3rs to see what I like.

If you are starting out.. there are a few, like, coil assortment kits you can buy.. like on Amazon.. it's a great way
to get introduced to all the different kinds of coils... I will see if I can get a link 4 u if u are interested...
Just vape it......
