Welcome to VU.....:vino:

Did you use the same ohm coil as the last coil?

When i bought it the guy at the store gave me 2 of the coils that are in the mega kit. Do you think I didn't prime it well enough? I did exactly what he showed me, but maybe I did something wrong.

If there were two coils in the kit, one might be a higher or lower ohm coil. Seldom does any manufacturer put two of the same coils in a kit.

You can unscrew the coil and see what ohm the coil is, and what the old one was, if you still have the old coil. Look at the side of the coil, it should say something like 1.5 ohm .50 ohm .25 ohm, with a couple letters following telling what the coil is made of.

They both say 0.3. I feel like I may have primed it wrong. Should i try the second one in the box? Or could you explain how exactly i would need to prime a coil?

Pour some juice into the top of the coil, then put some on the sides where the wick holes are located.

Don't be afraid to put juice on the cotton, if it floods because of too much you can just blow any extra out the airhole into a paper towel. After you're sure the cotton is saturated put the atomizer back together with juice in the tank, let it sit for a while. Then start at low wattage and work your way upward in watts until you get the vape you're looking for.

Yeah I just went back and put some more juice onto the cotton, and it's starting to taste a little better, but now I'm not getting as much smoke out of it. Kinda new to vaping so sorry if I'm not too knowledgable

No need to be sorry. New coils taste a little funky until broken in. I don't know what wattage your vaping at, but a .3 coil can take some serious wattage once broken in, which should enhance the flavor.

Ask all the questions you want, if I don't answer it, someone will. I'm not familiar with the setup you're using, but they all basically work the same.

Its a mega sub ohm kit which is at a constant 40 watts. I dont know how to explain it really, but it kinda makes a weird noise when i inhale like there is some type of interference and the inhale doesn't feel smooth. I'm just scared i messed it up somehow cause i just got it not too long ago.

It's probably flooded. Open the airflow wide open and blow into the drip tip. Put a paper towel around the bottom of the atomizer to catch any flying juice. You can stick a couple Q-Tips down inside the top of the tank to remove any juice that build up. Using a .3 ohm coil, you prolly need some more wattage.

Also, the taste is kinda back. It's like a bland nothing taste. Don't really know what it is. Do you think i should get rid of the juice thats in my tank and refill?

If your vaping the same juice for an extended period of time, you get what we call vapers tongue, can't taste jack shit.

Just took another hit and smelled the drip tip. Smells very burnt. I guess i jacked up the coil. How should I go about cleaning it out?

There is no cleaning pre built coils, need to toss it. Then wash the atty before installing a new coil.

That's what I meant lol sorry. Do you think I would need to clean the tank? Also, like i said im kinda new, and ive always heard the term but can never really recognize the atomizer.

I would take the tank apart and clean it, you're going to taste that burnt smell if you don't.

I never heard the last sentence in the past, sorry...no idea what that means.

Sorry. Was asking what the atomizer was exactly. Guessing its what the coil itself connects to.

Yes, that is an atomizer, or atty for short.
Maybe vaping just wasnt meant to be lol. Cleaned it, saturated the coil, let it sit for a few and its burnt even more. Only took two hits so it shouldn't be completely messed up, but god this is frustrating

I understand it's frustrating when just beginning. We all been through it. Hang in there....get yourself a better setup and enjoy.

I usually build my own coils, BUT....I have a Smok TFV8 tank which takes pre-built coils, been using the same coil for two months at 90 watts and it still tastes fantastic.

I'm just gonna let it sit for a bit more. See if it soaks a little more and ends up tasting better. Thanks for your help!

If its burned then it won't taste any better, in fact its gonna taste even worse. Next time try this:

Take a safety pin, and poke a hole or two on the side pockets were the cotton is. Don't poke all the way through so since I don't know how thin your juice might be.

Now put some juice in every pocket and a huge dab in the middle. Make sure that you get every part of the cotton you can see.

Fill the tank. Without the fire button pushed, take 3-5 drags. Let stand for 10 minutes.

After that, not sure what kit you exactly got, but try lowering the wattage if your mod allows that. Set it to 20, take a drag couple times, increase watt by 3-5 take a drag, rinse repeat till you're at the point of satisfaction, keep in mind while you can run coils lower and higher watt then actually recommended, never start at the higher end, always from low to high. If your kit only does 40w and you can't change that, make sure you're leaving it soak for another 5 minutes, totaling 15 instead of 10. That should prevent any further burning of coils right from the start :d

Between hits give it a sec or two before taking another. If your liquid is higher VG it can't keep up and you'll just be burning your coil again. Instead of taking long hits, one after another, wait a minute or two and also take shorter hits (1.5-2.5 sec) till your coil is fully saturated, that takes a bit time lol. If you don't wanna do that, then get some thinner liquid, maybe 65/35 or 50/50 etc. That soaks the cotton faster but you will get some harsher throat hits due to the higher pg. Just play around with it.
