Vendor threads almost as bad as spam.

This wont effect those who browse the board from the main page, or by section, but for we who use the "New Posts" link almost exclusively, well...

There's nothing to be done I'm sure, but between the new threads for it seems each and every new product from, it seems, each and every vendor... and the handful of recent vendors creating threads as if they were blog entries... every day now is like opening the forum in the early morning, before the mods have had a chance to clean out the overnight spammer postings.

--- This wasn't even a satisfying venting... I'm more sad about it than angry. :(

I'm just ignoring the recent obnoxious vendors

Don't mind the good ones - in fact I like them - like Breazy and Coval

It's appreciated to be notified of a good deal because I like to keep that shit out of my email, etc

I'm not shopping for anything so I don't need the announcements. And "email"? Really? Christ... hell no, I don't EVER want posting alerts in my email. :D

I'm trying to see if I can ignore entire sections... adding a vendor/member name wont kill the thread in the listings pages.

I ignore them all. I don't come here to see advertisement. I see enough of it everywhere else.

So what I do is, I hit New Posts and peruse the list. As soon as I see something for sale commercially (VU vendors particularly, but also unlisted vendors), the poster goes in my ignore list.

Sadly, there are a few that I can't ignore (vendors/moderators, and a guy called AndyColins whose profile isn't clickable for some reason) but otherwise my method makes for an almost ad-free VU experience.
