Haven't ordered any flavorings yet..so many. Just a brief google search brings up recipes with 5 or 7 flavors for a single recipe.Should I just stick with single flavor recipes to start? maybe two tops?

You can, if you like. Or just pull up a few recipes here that sound good to you and follow them to the letter. It's easy to get intimidated when you first start, I remember well. But it really isn't hard at all, it's a lot like cooking.
The most beneficial thing to do is test all your flavors individually as single flavor mixes. Though time consuming, this gives you an idea of what the profile and strength is for each one before you put it in a mix. And by all means, keep notes! Write everything down, the percentages you've used, what it tasted like on day 1, day 3, day whenever, and you'll know how long it takes to develop into the flavor you desire. It also teaches you what to avoid. Don't be afraid to experiment, my sink still gets fed plenty of failures...lol!

if you start browsing recipes, search out ones that sound good to you... after about 10 or so .. you will notice the same one or two flavors are used in several recipes .. those are usually flavors you def want to have , ie they are popular for a reason! Start slow, have patience, good luck!

what is your favorite juices now and dont just give me names tell me flavor descriptions
that's the problem not only is ejuice expensive it hard to find good flavors that i'd buy twice..My one and only favorite is Loaded Glazed Donuts..it's a glazed donut flavor..If I could DIY that stuff I'd be set to experiment with other things..I came across a glazed donut flavoring by one on one..Hoping I can get close with that with the single flavoring. Clone recipes have upwards of 7 flavors.

Capella makes a glazed donut that is not good at all. They also make a cholate glazed donut that I use in a recipe called Bronuts. Opinions vary but I think its awesome after a steep. Bronuts only uses 4 flavors. You might want to check it out.

Another good one with two flavors that I use is Mustard Milk.
https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/1164
A really great apple/raz-
FA-Fuji Apple 4%
INW-Raspberry Concentrate 3%

Just take your time and read up on diy. There is tons of info to absorb. DIY is well worth it in the end.

dessert and bakery flavors are often complex and require many more flavors to build. you can find some in a single flavor but often its not quite right and needs other things to enhance it.

Fruits on the other hand are simplistic
I make a peach mango with 3 flavors

Drink flavors can be simplistic.

I tend to make simpler flavors

like
\root beer
easy enough go get some DIYflavorshack rootbeer
shake and vape at 10% ish

peach mango
FA white peach 3%
FA peach 4%
FA mango 1%

black licorice
FA black licorice 3%

apple red hots
TFA red hoots 1.5%
fa stark apple 3%
FA fuji apple 2%
(still perfecting this one for my tastes)

fudge brownie
real flavors fudge brownie 4%

but i also love HICs 3 Milky Musketteers which has 8 flavors in it

But i could vape any of those fruits i mentioned above as single flavors if I had to do so

so you want glazed donuts
well look for single flavors of that form manufacturers or search for recipes

if you were more into fruits i could be more help... like Real flavors watermelon taste alot like a watermelon jolly rancher and is great by itself

I've tried two OoO flavors, which were small samples. Both were good and easily stand on their own. I'm waiting on an overdue shipment of another 5 of them and I'll let you know if I get them.

ok here is how you do this

find a simple glazed donut recipe
order those flavors
now most of the individual flavors probably wont be great by them self

then think or 2 or 3 simple flavors you might like
such as
a fruit

most fruits are great by themselves
and can be mixed with anything
just tell us what fruit flavors you like and we can tell you our favorites for those

then maybe think of something else that might be good with that flavor

like apple flavor goes with
cinnamon apple
apple danish
and more

soda flavor
fine by itself but add cherry or vanilla and you have 3 or 4 different flavors

you get teh idea

then try a couple things to go with the flavor

then at least you have something vapable
and when yo mix leave out the nicotine
just use a dripper with the flavor and pg/vg
when you find something you liek make a larger batch 30ml with nic and try it for a few days

i want to help you and walk you thorugh this, but i dont know your tastes and they are probably different then mine

but i will tell you, HICs recipes almost everyone likes if the flavor sin them sound appealing to you

same with wllmc
and damn it, i cant remember the other 2 or 3 people on here who are awesome

I would look for like 2-3 recipes that you like. It'll be even better if you find some with overlapping flavor requirements.

Then buy the flavors just for those.

Here are some very popular flavorings off the top of my head:

Sweet Strawberry, CAP
Sweet Cream, CAP
Vanilla Custard V1, CAP (v2 without diketones)
Fuji Apple (FA?)
Lemon Sicily, FA

I dont know, you know, whatever your favorite flavors are.

havent read any other replies yet but here is what I'd suggest, get the flavors for a recipe or 2 and then some randoms that just sound good. you can whip up the recipes so you can have something to vape on then in between mix you up single flavors of everything you have so you can taste evreything on its own to see why those flavors work in the recipe or what you might adjust for your personal liking. you will never get a true feel for mixing until you have tried all your stash single flavor but that can become boring fast so having some solid recipes to vape helps to keep from getting discouraged as you learn.

Great advice here as usual. I've been on DIY for a couple months. Not even thinking about being my own mixer. Just ordering flavors for a few recipes at a time. Never been a good cook so not concerned about creating my own mixes yet. Hats off to all those who are good at it and share recipes and tricks. Take it one step at a time and a big Thank You to all the fine folks here at VU!
