Baby Beast q2 coil dry?

I have been using Smok coils for a while now and have seen a few coils come and go too quickly. Some of the coils I get seem to be duds sometimes. I like my Smok devices, they don't leak and have many positives, but the coils and the top fill cap/seal are my main issues. Some of my coils are great and last 1-2 weeks, some go by in as short of time as 2 days. I don't chain vape them, but sometimes the coils just dont want to wick correctly. It is rather annoying, I can't imagine paying the full price ($30) for a pack of 5 coils and having them burn out on me so quickly.
The Q2 0.4 ohm coil is one that i used most often. The only thing I have noticed is that if the coils are fired near the max preferred wattage listed, then they burn out quickly.
I would say to just check your wattage and shoot for lower than the suggested. I would vape these at 40 watts max.

I'm currently running it at 35w and its been a very annoying experience with a Smok tank. The first coil burned out in 2 days and was harsh from the start at under the preferred wattage.
That's a tank for a beginner vape or someone who doesn't mind blowing out room temperature vape and very little vape to begin with. I would give the 0.4 ohm coils a try, maybe you are just hitting the vape for too long, and wanting more out of it than it can handle. What device were you using before acquiring the Baby beast and what ohm/wattage were you running at on the previous mod?
My PD270 I used it at 58W with a q2 0.4 ohm coil and it burn out kinda quick. It was wicked correctly, I don't have this issue with my Crown 3 or my Celito 120 doing the same wicking method.

The Q2 0.4 coils do burn out in 4-5 days when I run them at 55-65 watts, some of the last a bit longer, some a bit shorter. I had gotten used to the flavor and intensity of that coil at that level so I kept wanting to go higher and higher in wattage/throat hit levels. I eventually bought a Big Baby Beast thinking that would be the next best thing and didn't take a second to think that is the same coil lol.
The 0.4 and 0.2 coils are your only other option for the Baby/Big Baby tanks. But I havent noticed much of a difference in lifespan when switching to different coil types with the Baby/Big Baby Beast.
I eventually was given a Cloud Beast King from a friend and that is what I have been using for about 2 weeks now, along with my Wismec Gnome that I really like also.
The Cloud beast King is a great option because you can produce the same amount of intensity that the Q2 coils give (100 watts or so) and still have room to go WAY up to about 300 watts on a device with the same coils. I don't want to go above 150 watts though because I will get too used to that type of throat hit and never want to go back down lol.

the baby and the big baby have the T-8 coil which will go up to 100+ watts I believe and is a .15 coil, that may be a viable option. Having said that I had to go to a cleito tank from a big baby beast due to dry hits every third hit and I was not chain vaping, everyone I have talked to about the issue in the vape shops say that a lot of their customers are having the same problems from the big baby beast and the baby beast and SMOK customer service is of no help.
How many puffs are you getting per coil before it's burned? I'm getting only about 1,500 no matter whether I use the .15 or the .4 coil. Super annoying. I vape it at only 40 watts, sometimes 50.
I kinda agree with most of the statements, and despite that I hate smok, there's a couple of products I still use on occasion and even recommend. Problem with the pre built coils from smok, is that they are the special snowflake of all coils, and sadly you need to put lots of effort in it, and treat them just like that. What I mean is that it already starts with priming the coils differently then any other, but not going into detail, done that in prior posts and don't feel like writing the whole essay again. But I have good results with the Q2-0.6 as well as the x4s. I run the o.6@ 28-33 w and these lasts 2 weeks, and trust me I'm not a occasional or casual vaper , the x4 i run @48-55w and they last around a week and a half, after some maintenance I can run both an additional week or two, before having to use a complete new/fresh coil. However, I do love my limitless plus RDTA, and grab it before even considering to go the baby beast route, but there have been days I had to use the al85 and wasn't disappointed. I don't experience the dry hits, but if you got some money to spend and aren't happy with your current setup, by all means make changes that might be more satisfying to you.
