Unethical Vape Store?

some never recover and then some fall into the squonking hole....
My brain comes at it from different directions. There aren't too many interesting hobbies that don't cost a lot of money... aggressive marketing strategies have little to zero effect on me, but instead I try hard to spend my money as wisely as I possibly can. Here in Belgium online and distance selling of nicotine juices, e-cigarettes, and atomizers are forbidden by law. I frequent a local B&M store and that has been giving me truly magnificent service. The guy who runs it isn't a money shark. In addition, he goes to great lengths to keep offering some of the best products that are not always easy to get a hold of in my country. Currently AFAIK only two Purge Mods Suicide King Squonkers are in Europe... one of which belongs to me:

Trying to squonk out of a typical B&M would seriously blow - especially before the Chinese market would gaga for it all of a sudden
Cheap squonking is possible.
A wasp or Goon clone and DB160 or Coppervape.

However real MTL squonking is another matter.

I could actually even make a profit by selling my squonker 10 years from now so technically speaking I'm squonking pretty much for free.
If a regulated mod figure around 2 -3 years of max service.
Mods are a consumable as well.
Just a longer period of depreciation.

I don't vape incessantly so the juice really goes far and I'm not running out or having to buy it constantly. I also don't need 90 flavors to keep me happy. I can do one flavor at a time. I just started vaping a few days ago and it looks like a bottle will last me almost a month.
Don't count on your juice consumption staying that low over the long run.

With tax I paid $19.00 and some change for 30 ounces.
I hate to be pedantic, but I'm pretty confident you got 30 ml (milliliters) (about 1 oz), not 30 ounces.

Let's see my smoking cost me about $6.50 a day. That's $45.50 a week and $182.00 a month. That's a lot of money!!! Yeah. And I was pissing it away on tobacco cigarettes. What a dumb ass!
Yep! My counter says I've saved $16,899 since I quite 34 months ago, and that's at late 2013 cig prices; they've gotten more expensive since then.

I can't tell you how much I've spent on mods and a lifetime supply of nicotine base and so on because I haven't kept track. I do own a bunch of hand-made mods and authentic atties, but I'm confident if I put it all in a spreadsheet, it would still be considerably less than the amount I haven't spent on cigs.

I like having money. :p
Most people do! :D

I have Well under $1,000 in all my vape expenditures for nearly 3 years.

I have nic for 30 years, flavorings for 5 years, wire for 5 more years, cotton for another year.
Will need to buy some more PG/VG in about 6 months. And eventually my batteries will need replacing.
Have enough mods and attys to last me 20 years or so.

I think most vapers eventually get to the point where they stop chasing new, better stuff. I got to that point after about 2 years.

OK, I kept buying more of the same just to be sure I had enough, but I swear I'm done now! ;)
LOL yep was thinking about buying more Subtank Mini V2's but alas they are pretty much gone.
I mean I only have 8 with extra parts out the ass. Have used 1 for over 2 years....

Thinking about it... I have enough parts to build 8-10 more complete STM's and still have extra parts....

Maybe I am good on them :)

I'm a little jealous Cromwell.

One tip if you order extra STM bases or RBA decks get authentic. Some of the clone ones do not work very well.
The clone tops seem fine though and I have some of the Poly bell caps which work fine and cost a little over $1 each at FT.

I've spent a whole lot more than $1,000 in just a single day last Monday. :giggle:

My budget is limited at the moment. I'm about a month in, and have spent around 200. I think I'm fairly setup, and have enough juice for the next month or so. Going to look into DIY juice over the winter. I figure my initial investment is over, and I kind of went over the top. Also ordered 2 pen style starter kits, going to push them on my parents, my mom has mentioned quitting lately, and asked me about my vape, figure it couldn't hurt.

Both my mods are internal batteries, and one is used with unknown history, I will see how long they last. All three of my atomizers have rebuildable coils, so I'm set there, lots of wire and cotton. Seems like juice is real running cost with this hobby. I see myself trying DIY before this cheap juice runs out, or fork over for some quality stuff.

I am Canadian also, so factor that.

I'm also in Ontario, west side of the GTA. The Dash Vapes in Richmond Hill has a vape bar for sampling but I don't know if all their stores have them. They have a bunch of shops around the GTA and one in Barrie if that helps you at all. Clientele in Richmond Hill is pretty young, but the couple of times I was there they did right by me. I did know what I wanted though so I have no idea how good their advice is, but from the feeling I got my bet is they are OK. A lot of their hardware is on the expensive side, but you can get juice for around $0.50 a ML. For DIY supplies check out The Broke Vaper. I order all my PG, VG and nic from them. Best prices I've found and I'm happy with the service and the quality of their products.

If you have any questions I might be able to help with drop me a PM. Good luck with it!

But I can't help but feel they are booming with business just because of markup and taking advantage of the less educated.

That's how most businesses operate. Ever compare the cost to buy a computer and build one of equal specs? The later costs a quarter to a half of the cost. I don't see why vape shops would be an exception. Business savvy people see that vaping is a growing industry so try to get in on it just to get money. Even easier to get money if finding a large town or even a city with no local vape shops.

That's a bad analogy for me, I have way too much tied up into my tower, but yes, I understand the point you're making. I checked up on that order I placed a month ago, they said it hasn't come in yet but should be a few days. I told them to forget about it and they got kind of mad at me. Apparently they don't like "having our time wasted"

Small fish, big fish. It's even easier for big pharma / big tobacco / corrupt politicians / corrupt scientists / yellow journalists (or their bosses anyway) to re-route the biggest cash flow right into their own deep pockets... it's all extremely well orchestrated, and, the reason it just works is simply because a sucker gets born every minute so history will always repeat itself as perception of ethics can be steered like Stanley Milgram's experiments have shown.
