Best/Safest Battery for 350w Vape?

Hey guys. Just awaiting delivery of my new Smok GX2/4 regulated mod. It goes up to 350w and uses x4 18650 batteries.

I would like to know if anyone could recommend the safest / best high drain battery I could use if I wish to vape safely at 350w?

Preferentially an INR as my research has suggested to me its safer but I am open to any suggestions / recommendations.

Ive looked at many batteries but just cant figure out which one to get and if you guys also arent sure maybe you can tell me what you use / would use if you were to vape at 350w regulated?

Stay with in mooch's list and you'll be ok. Stick with any one of these three companies Sony, LG, Samsung. Since you'll have four batteries I'm not terribly sure you'll need something like the lg hb6's, maybe some vtc5a's, or vtc4. I would suggest though staying in that at least 20 amp and above range. Hope this helps you out.

Since you'll have four batteries I'm not terribly sure you'll need something like the lg hb6's, maybe some vtc5a's, or vtc4. I would suggest though staying in that at least 20 amp and above range. Thanks guys for the the comments and suggestions. Based on what is available to me here in the UK and on the information in the Mooch battery list I have selected the following 18650's which I will order and see how they are. (I always go overkill on batteries. You can call me a battery nerd. Ill have 8 on charge at home while having another 8 in my bag when I am on the move. When I get back home Ill swap my lovely fully charged batteries with drained ones and then repeat And thats just for my 18650's. For my gadgets I have x3 Zendure A8 25600mah power banks on rotation. Better to have and not need than need and not have is my motto. I will never be caught without power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry guys the nerd came out there. Couldnt help it. )

The amps I have listed below are all Mooch's "MVA / Max vaping amps" which is the amount of amps the battery can be pulsed at without exceeding a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius.

Yes thanks. I saw that one but it is not easily available to me here in the UK on amazon. I'm buying on amazon.co.uk because amazon sometimes holds the stock of the sellers so that reduces the chances of it being counterfeit as the stock could easily be seized by the police / amazon so its an added risk/deterrent for the counterfeit sellers.

I am aware that does not mean its impossible to get counterfeits on amazon and I have seen examples of fakes on amazon but if you can get fakes on amazon then what chance do I have on ebay or other websites?

If you or anyone else knows of any UK website or maybe even a US/EU site that ships to UK selling genuine HB6's or any other genuine batterys then please let me know!

I 100% seriously plan to open up my brand new Smok GX2/4 mod, screw on my brand new SMOK TFV12 6ml tank, screw in a V12-T12 coil (12 coils!) fill it with my delicious home made e-juice and see how high I can personally manage. If I do reach 350w or anywhere close I wanted to make sure I did it safely and already have the batteries by my side, which is why I made this thread to find out which ones. + even if I dont reach it its nice to know I have batterys in my house and ready which will allow me to use all the features of my mod safely.
And you never know, Smok will probably come out with a 6 trillion coil tank next month and ill definitely need my 350w for that!!!

I have not vaped for roughly around 2 years and am excited to get back into it. Back then I had the Smok X-Cube 2 and was vaping at 140w no sweat. This new tank has double the amount of coils (12 instead of 6) so based on my knowledge I think it may take more watts to heat it up to my preferential level. (Maybe i'm wrong? who knows?)

To be honest I am hoping I can contain my needs within 220w because if I can, then I can sport my mod in 2 battery mode instead of 4 which will save alot of pocket / bag space!

I personally prefer warm/hot vapes as my opinion is that it "cooks" the juice and releases all the flavours giving me a mouth watering taste that cold vapes / low watt vapes so far has not done for me. My theory is quite similar to this; If you have a cooked chicken that is cold and in the fridge and you eat it, it will not taste / smell as nice as if you instead microwaved it which releases / unlocks the flavour / aroma.

Some people will prefer it cold. But i am on of the ones who like it hot! (chicken + vapes) I always heat my food in the microwave ridiculously hot and everyone around me is always confused how they have burnt their mouths / tongues and are waiting ofr it to cool down while they are watching me chow down straight away. I think all the years of this behavior have increased the heat tolerance of my mouth and digestive system!

On the other hand i'm trying to get into some RTA flavour chasing and after many hours of internet research I have also ordered these 2 tanks:

I plan to run single coil in the Serpent and dual in the Kylin. I doubt I will need more than 220w for these as my experience is that the more coils the more watts. Again this means I can sport my mod in smaller 2 battery mode (220w) and it also means I can buy a new mod for flavour chasing once I find out what my preferred watts are for these tanks!

I do not trust the GX2/4 because I have witnessed (with my own eyes) a GX350 jumping to max power and that could be dangerous. The general rule of thumb for battery safety on a regulated mod is to take the max wattage you vape (350 watts after the GX350 or GX2/4 jumps to max power), divided by the number of batteries (4), divided by the voltage cut-off of the mod in question (3.2 volts), divided by 0.9 to compensate for the min efficiency of a regulated mod. Therefore, after it jumps to max power if something goes additionally wrong with the mod which causes the mod to start auto firing, you're draining the batteries continuously at ~30 amps. The LG HB6 is the safest 18650 battery. It is a 30 amp battery. But it is only 1500 mAh so it kind of defeats the purpose of the GX2/4 if you never vape above 288 watts... because then the battery life will be shit. At or below 288 watts, you would be much better off with four Sony VTC5A batteries. The VTC5A is 25 amps, and, in addition, it is 2500 mAh. But unfortunately like I said, it would not be safe to use if the 350 watts mod unexpectedly jumps to max power. So this is among the primary reasons why I simply NEVER buy Smok.

With four of those batteries, it would be relatively safe at 100 watts on a mod that you can trust, but not with only two of those same batteries at 100 watts. But like I said, if the mod jumps to max power and, after that, starts auto firing on you, then basically chances will be you will be SOL (Shit Outta Luck). Further, Efest batteries are rewraps. The non-rewrap version of the exact same 18650 battery will typically be cheaper as well as will actually even typically perform one or two percent better anyway in the first place. So avoid rewraps if you can, at least in the 18650 battery department. (In the 20700 and 26650 battery departments, for now, the story is a little bit different.)

There's zero reason to thank me. Thank Mooch instead, and thank him by spreading his word because it is very much needed in the vaping world... everything you need to know about battery safety is written on his blog, and, if you want to grow confident with mechs, I highly recommend that you watch any and all video interviews with Mooch on YouTube, and keep re-watching them until you understand every bit of his thorough explanations. Just google for them by typing "mooch battery" in the search box, then hitting the Enter key, and then finally clicking on "Videos" at the top of the search results page. It is time consuming and to me at first some of his explanations were confusing like hell. I needed several months to digest. But that's the key. Just take it one step at a time, if in doubt just take one step forward two steps backward, and eventually you'll get there.

The problem is so many people think only those three US companies are safe enough to buy batteries from and don't see anyone else as reputable enough.

You may not have any battery testing knowledge beyond the majority of people on this site but you do have information like Fogstar that most others don't.

Speaking of Fogstar, do you know if Mooch himself recommends them? If so, do you have a link?

I do not know whether he recommends them I like many others use recommendations from other vapers who have used them ...I read some post on planet of the vapes and decided to take a chance with a couple of batteries first (let’s be honest stuff like this is word of mouth) companies who stand out get recommended that’s it

Unfortunately true.

I don't know what the site's owner has as business arrangements with vaping product vendors, if any. This site doesn't seem like an industry advertising site masquerading as a fan site that is staffed by shills unlike some sites appear to be that I'm sure others would be happy to name but it does seem to be a bit too prone to fanboi/gurlism.

This has lead to something of a cult like, "it is only safe to buy from the American Big Three" ethos. This does a great disservice to the vaping population especially those outside of the United States.

A deeper discussion on alternative battery vendors especially outside of the United States is badly needed. Ideally, Mooch would be the most qualified person to create the thread and lead the discussion.

You might be surprised how much influence your recommendation of Fogstar carries even if you feel it is undeserved. Maybe the big three would have been safer but maybe not. At least Fogstar is almost certainly far safer than Amazon or eBay that the OP nearly bought batteries from so that is battery safety progress. More of that is badly needed.

If it helps I buy my others bits from Stealthvape (best wire place over here) or the Mesh (crazy wire company) company for wire over here

Modmaker I use for squonk stuff and other bits and pieces

Juice I use use Vapable.com and flavourart UK

online stores over here I’ve tried evolution vaping who are really good, and the uk ecig store. Custom vapes and greyhaze are others who pop up but haven’t used them yet

other than that it’s the Chinese companies everyone else uses to get around our crappy TPD issues with 2ml tanks or to buy other bits and pieces

oh and I also used Canada based CarrakVape recently to buy a deathwish mod and 30mm RTA and received it promptly even though shipping to the UK is ludicrous

I'm in the United States myself but I come across many people that aren't even from the Anglosphere (English speaking world) let alone the United States asking for all sorts of advice including battery safety. I've seen people from North Africa to China on here.

With other sites too corrupt in being industry shills and Reddit being neither well organized nor as knowledge, the responsibility of vaping knowledge and safety appears to be on this site albeit unwillingly.

I guess a relative vendor battery safety discussion is what I am seeking especially outside of the United States. No one appears to beat or even match the Big American Three except maybe Fogstar but plenty of intermediate ranges between them and eBay/Amazon/AliExpress etc... I'd like to break the Big Three or bust mentality since some people will bust to the worst if they can't have the best as this thread shows. A detailed conversation that includes vaping gear vendors in what they do to promote battery safety would be ideal.

Places to buy vaping gear outside of the United States and China is also very helpful to many people. I guess Canvape for Canadians is the leading example but could be wrong on that.

Hey guys. Just awaiting delivery of my new Smok GX2/4 regulated mod. It goes up to 350w and uses x4 18650 batteries.

I would like to know if anyone could recommend the safest / best high drain battery I could use if I wish to vape safely at 350w?

Preferentially an INR as my research has suggested to me its safer but I am open to any suggestions / recommendations.

Ive looked at many batteries but just cant figure out which one to get and if you guys also arent sure maybe you can tell me what you use / would use if you were to vape at 350w regulated?

4 batterie's and 4 X the chance of venting?
