You betcha! The FDA can bite my ass!!!!

People who wind up like that are those who trust false info about batterys' amperage ratings -- the lower the resistance you use, the more amperage is needed, the CDR -- CONSTANT delivery rate, not just pulse amperage. They're also the idiots who do stupid shit like putting batteries loose in their pockets instead of carrying them in battery boxes. There's a guy with the username Mooch who regularly published FACTUAL info about batterys' real amperage; I can't recommend ECF, where he hangs out, but I think he also posts on Reddit. Don't believe any of that shit about 40A batteries -- there's no such animal. Or sometimes people buy "hybrid" mods, which apparently are VERY dangerous with some atomizers; I don't know a great deal about them, but I'd never own such a piece of crap! Basically folks who end up like that wildly overestimate their own intelligence, and treat high-amperage batteries like coppertop AA's.
It's very easy to build your own coils; you don't need anything except a drillbit (to wind the wire on), an ohm meter, and a screwdriver to mount the coil on the atomizer. Those basic supplies have served me well for over 3 yrs; none of that fancy shit like "kits" -- though my husband bought me a nice 3" vise to secure the atty base on while I'm mounting the coil, so I don't have to chase the silly thing all over the counter.
And you're right; it absolutely LIBERATES you, to build your own -- freedom from the vagaries of vendors, USPS, and even $$$, since buying wire and cotton is MUCH cheaper than buying pre-made coils, and the ones you build yourself are MUCH better quality and last longer.

you could just wind it on a screwdriver like i saw in that video it might make it quicker using a drill but when i do it i dont think im going to be trying to rush it I'm probably going to take my time and enjoy doing my craft making multiple at a time but probably be disappointed when i run out of supplies cause that will mean fun time is over lol
Yeah i happen to have a pair of old school calipers that can tell me nearly exact measurements inner diameter outer diameter etc. although im not sure if the diameter of a coil really applies to safety cause I haven't really looked into building so i wouldn't know that
Oh, I don't use a drill -- I use a drillbit, because that way I know exactly the size of the inner diameter -- I use a 3/32 drillbit, which apparently is like 2.38mm (the only metric drillbits I can find are in kits, and I don't need EVERY size!).

I dont think I'll ever use mech mods I'm just too paranoid about ending up like this guy lol and I'd say he walked away from that pretty lucky it wasnt worse than it wasView attachment 97502
They're just way more temperamental with safety measures you have to take when you own and use one it's kinda like owning a lion it can be great if you tame it and treat it right but can turn on you at any moment with no given warningI will also say that even though I use mech mods they scare me. That is good in a way because of all the precautions I take. If you treat it this way then you will be less likely to have one exsplode. There is always a chance but I know this.
But I know many gun owners. The ones that get complacent and think that they are not dangerous are the ones that end up hurting themselves.
But those mods are the ones that produce the serious clouds

Lol, like Tom said.... Down another rabbit hole of hobbyist land.Yeah i wont be attempting to build my own for a bit but when the time comes when I am actually going to do it im definitely going to do my research before buying the supplies I dont think I'll ever use mech mods I'm just too paranoid about ending up like this guy lol and I'd say he walked away from that pretty lucky it wasnt worse than it wasView attachment 97502
You're right. It was an Atlantis sub ohm tank on a hybrid mech mod.@amateur vaper if my memory serves me right that guy was using a towel to hold his Mech when vaping and using some year old coils or some shit. The picture may have went viral for a bit but never heard about his lawsuits and or anything else. Except I do believe he got a Darwin Award.
You're right. It was an Atlantis sub ohm tank on a hybrid mech mod.
It would have had a ton of warning with the most getting damn near molten hot before it went boom.
Just a prime sign of why not to use subohm tanks on hybrids.
BAM crew
That used to be the case, but modern regulated mods will now accommodate super-sub ohm builds so you don't have to go mech to fog out if that is your desire
What kind of clouds did you produce when you smoked?
Andria
as strong as a mech with an RDA dripper equipped with a .1 or less coil
Vaping that way borders on retarded death wish
It is highly probably someone will come in here and blah blah blah about how they do it perfectly safe - but actually that is numbskull territory
And I've been almost purely mech for a few years now
RTA's work very well on Mech's, that is as long as you know WTF you're doing as with all Mech's.I'm pretty sure I heard if your using a mech the best way to go is an RDA dripper

this shit makes me want to build my own coils because not only are you self sustainable it could be kind of a fun hobby cause i like building shit and making things also the clouds you can get from making your own can be huge if you build them right all while saving money.
Blah blah blah

I probly wouldn't go that low with how much power it would draw from a battery and how fast it would heat up I just seen a guy with a .80 ohm coil and he was putting out some heavy clouds it was in the post I made earlier that i quoted so if you were interested you would have to go looking for it
If you are a numbskull retard, you are a very nice one
Oh I know people do it - and I know a few that do; they have my respect but that is because they are blackbelt experts
Myself, I just don't like warm vapes - its a personal preference so will probably never go that route
Frankly, I don't care what people do but I do care about amateurs jumping on that bandwagon who end up turning their mods into pipe bombs

You should start building your own coils, it's rather a fun and rewarding hobby. For me it's the concentration on building something and reaping the rewards of what you yourself have made. Everything from Spinning Claptons, wrapping the coils to wicking it's a moment of Zen for me. I don't rush it 'cause I just escape to that place and it's relaxing. Will you screw up builds, of course you will but when you find that perfect build it's Nirvana .this shit makes me want to build my own coils because not only are you self sustainable it could be kind of a fun hobby cause i like building shit and making things also the clouds you can get from making your own can be huge if you build them right all while saving money.

I guess while I’m here, I’ll chime in. I run my mechs at exactly .12 No matter what type of coil.
Also regulated mods outperform mechs by a long shot these days and do it safety. You do not need a mech to be a clouds bro.
K bye!

yeah i just tried puffing my mod at 100w and i got maybe a 1/3 of the way through my normal draw which is like 5-8 seconds when im trying to get the biggest cloud possible and it was like holy FUCK that is too hot on my throat lol probly be different though if it was a fresh coil 70 is a good spot right now for having puffed it roughly 750 times

Just to be clear, I am one of the few people around here who are not necessarily opposed to newbies using mechs
A lot of people lose their blub over it, but just because someone is new to vaping does not automatically mean they aren't smart enough to learn how to use one safely
50 likes for this, because it would take a big book to cover Everything, and there isnt one...and the moment a new style of mod, or wire, or atomizer etc comes out, the book might be missing an important piece of safety information.even if I was really experienced im not sure i would want one because there will likely always be times where you learn something you didnt know before that could maybe make the difference between possibly seriously hurting yourself and not
I recommend getting experience building, knowing how to build with different builds then targeting Volts not Watts will give you a good foundation before diving into Mech's.even if I was really experienced im not sure i would want one because there will likely always be times where you learn something you didnt know before that could maybe make the difference between possibly seriously hurting yourself and not
With Mech's it's not "Clouds Bro" it's the quality of Vape. For me I get a much smoother and quality Vape with my Mech's then any regulated Mod can provide. But to achieve that you need to know WTF you're doing.Noooo...more wattage, bigger coils make bigger clouds, not the mod! And, you can make the biggest clouds most safely with regulated mods that hold more than one battery!
Edit: and with building coils in rebuildable decks
It Is a fun hobby, and nowadays you can actually buy premade coils very cheap, which is what I swapped to because when I build, I will rebuild, ans rebuild, and "ooh let me try vertical coils now" etc until I am all out of wire like I am right at this moment

If someone wants to be a "Clouds Bro" only then stick with regulated Mods.
It's vaping... Everyone loses their gord about something.Just to be clear, I am one of the few people around here who are not necessarily opposed to newbies using mechs

Rule of thumb with a newbie and mechs.
So long as you understand what you're doing and how to be safe.
It wasnt that long ago where you had no choice but to vape with one.

I did the cigalike, pen then provari a few weeks in. A Month later the provari went to the shop and I got a mech.Yeah, I went from cigalikes to mech
My very first mod was an REO

Just tell him to check out the National Healthcare site of the UK, it's about the only place you'll find actual peer reviewed and legit studies. That and tell him to check out what the Royal College of Physicians position is since they're the top Medical Science organization in the world that started the charge against Tobacco back in the late 50's. Oh and they've only been around for 500 yearsi had a drs appointment earlier today and i asked the dr what he thought about vaping and he said if a patient was a smoker between smoking and vaping he would prefer they vaped instead of smoked even though theres not much research backing its safer the research that has been done shows its less harmful so its dr confirmed that vaping is the better method to get your nicotine fix, suck on that big tobacco
Some RTA's are fine but most all tanks that use factory coils are a BIG NONO on mechs.I'm pretty sure I heard if your using a mech the best way to go is an RDA dripper
I am still vapin on a Kanger 50W Kbox mini for over 2 years now.My REO is almost three - happen to be vaping it right now
Jealous there.. I sold my reosMy REO is almost three - happen to be vaping it right now
