Aspire Speeder won’t read a3 coil

Hi there,

I have an Aspire Speeder that runs fine with the a5 penta coil. I want to drop to the a3 coil for a bit, but when I change the coil the mod just reads ‘no atomizer’. When I switch back to the a5, it works fine. I’ve tried multiple different a3 coils, so it’s not a dud coil issue. Is there a setting change I should be doing, and if so, what? Kinda lost and frustrated here.

Welcome to VU! I hope, someone that owns the Aspire Speeder will respond shortly.

In general, you've come to the right place!

Do you have an Ohm reader, or another mod (maybe from a friend), that could confirm your findings?

Can you confirm that those A3 coils are genuine?

I don’t have an ohm reader. I did buy them sealed from a reputable store, I’m confident the 5 I’ve tried are genuine.

What are the specifications of those two coils? If your mod is TC capable, what mode are you utilizing?

I’m using the Aspire Speeder mod with an Athos atomizer.
Yes, both the penta and tri coils are kanthal.

Maybe I should just go to my vape shop and whine?
:)
Since the coils are made of Kanthal, are you using them both in power/wattage mode? In addition, there might be just a problem with the contacts. Sounds easy, but it's not as easy to track it down. Overall, it seems to be a problem with the contacts. It could be, that the a3 coils don't make the proper contact, thus resulting in the "no atomizer" display. There are too many variables to consider, in order to narrow it down, without having hands on.

Anyways, if you've bought your mod and coils at that store, it might be a good idea, to ask them for help as well.
