Aromamizer v1- dry hits, wicking tips?

Hi everyone, I hope you are all OK.

I have a lot of tanks I use in rotation, and today thought I would use my aromamizer as I haven't used it in about a year.

I made some simple 26G SS317L coils, 2.5MM ID, 10 Wraps, coming in around 0.33 or so, and the hits aren't completely dry, but I can tell they aren't fully saturated, I can only fire around 35W or so or they become dry. I should be able to fire around 50 or so Watts, at least I could in the past with the same setup.

The wick is just touching the bottom of the deck where the juice flows how I remember it should be, but just wondered if anyone has any tips on wicking.

Using 70VG/30PG homebrew as usual.

Thank you all, Conan.

I'd say you've got too many wraps / too small diameter.

Wicks burnt in half?

I find with the aromamizer getting coils above 2.5MM in unless vertical is a real PITA. It seems now I have ran a couple of tanks through things are working OK, 50W is nice and flavoursome. What would you recommend as an alternative build though, as I haven't used these tanks in a long time and would like to use them again.

What do you mean by wicks burnt in half? They are in their just as I would normally wick, a little bit of resistance when pulling right to left but not too much, and the ends are not too long, just enough to touch the bottom to feed with liquid.

Thanks for your help, Conan.

Try 2-3 fewer wraps if you like 2.5mm. It'll wick better and the center of the coil will get more juice to it.

For what its worth, I used my Aromamizer V2 for a long time with simple kanthal clapton wire, 26/32. I used 4 wraps on a 2.5mm rod, dual coils...these gave me approx 0.3 ohms for dual coils. They fit just fine, and being smaller coils they seemed very feisty...ran them about 60 watts and always liked the flavor and cloud I got. Tried 5 wraps but that was a tad too large so I stuck with 4. As far as wicking, they always seemed saturated, but I never went thicker than 70/30 juice, and alot of times used 60/40.

I think we might be thinking of different tanks, the one I have is 22MM, the old style aromamizer. I didn't know there was a big one now, I haven't kept up with things recently.

I've never managed to get on with the big ones myself though, I have tried bigger RDA's, small ones just fit me better and I find they taste nicer the way I use them.

My bad dude. I must have missed the 22mm part, oops. I was thinking of the Titan, lol.

Can't help you with the 22mm. Have zero experience with it and don't know how much space you have to work with as far as trying bigger coils.
