I was thinking about the future of vaping and it seems bleak to me.
...
So, is it feasible to buy DNA chips and just replace them? Just curious on other's thoughts about it. I suspect some will say go mech. I'm fully aware of the advantages of doing so, so hopefully no one will proffer that advice. It is a definite area of exploration at some point, but not now.
I thought a lot about this myself as well. Since getting into squoking, I've got the Druga kit and a Pulse BF, and wanted regulated.
Bought a Drone new, and sold it 30 days later since it was to heavy for me, like vaping from a 3 lb. brick, but it got me seduced by Escribe and DNA chips...
So after looking at
all of the smaller regulated squonkers, decided on an Inbox v3, which I just bought yesterday, specifically for the ability to replace the DNA chip easily if it dies, and hoping Evolve does not stop producing them, and even so, I could likely source another DNA75 mod used/broken and pull the board and install it in the Inbox. I'm handy with a soldering iron and not afraid of doing this and have built many electronic kits over the past 30 yrs, so this should be a small job, but alas, I've not done one yet.
Sure, a mech can last forever if properly maintained, but using the Pulse BF, I dont like the voltage drop, nor the declining vape experience that goes along with the decreasing battery voltage, hence the quest for regulated.
The Pulse BF will be a backup device or vape-apocalypse device for me if Evolve DNA boards become unavailable.
Accordingly the Druga squonk kit is a backup to the Pulse BF.
Coming from an IT background, I am following the 3-2-1 rule for backups.
