WTB cloud chucking RTA (and maybe a mod)

I haven't been here in a while- me and my girlfriend moved to California from Alabama a few months ago. This forum helped us out tons- I've bought a mod here, and even got a roak from here once.

Evidently Greyhound is rough with luggage- within a week of arriving, both my mods fell apart. (A IPV5, the 510 base came loose- and a pico just stopped working altogether.) Been smoking instead, haven't had the $ to drop on a mod until now.

Looking to buy the smoant cylon, and a good tank or dripper. I'm a clouds guy, usually running dual coil clapton setups. (I'd like quads if I could wrap them well enough.)

I have a tfv8 tank, but.. I figure I might as well upgrade my tank too. Been thinking about a dripper too. Sort of on the fence.

Anyone have anything available to help me ditch the coffin nails?

Thinking to spend about $20 shipped on a tank or dripper. Throwins appreciated. I liked the tfv8, but the deck was a little small. Size isn't an issue, I hear up to 30mm will fit on the cylon.

I'm not super flush with money, if someone has a decent 150w mod for the right price I'll consider it too. IPV seem to have poor 510s, I've seen three relatively new ones fall apart the same way. Looking for something rugged- I'm clumsy.

I'm in Anaheim, but been considering a visit to San Diego..

Awesome...whenever you make that day trip pm me.

Hook ya up with a full working setup.

Let ya make the choice...

Original Sigelei 213 Carbon or Wismec NC II-25

Kennedy 24 RDA

Tell me the Vape you like and I'll build a set of coils installed...all you'd have to do is wick and juice.

EDIT: Only Cloud Chucking RTA I have is an old Boreas...she kicks ass, haven't used it in over a year, but she is a finicky RTA to have sing...Needs to be wicked "Right" or the vape is all wrong! lol

Wow man that's great. I literally just ordered a mod, but that Sigelei would meet my needs. Im seriously considering cancelling the order I just made for a smoant cylon earlier today. I've been wanting to start practicing with a mech, and been looking at some fasttech clones, I've only heard good things about noisy crickets. I'll pm you when I make up my mind.
Definitely interested in the Kennedy. I've been wanting to make the switch and Kennedy would be a good one to use. I have a tfv4- somewhere- I can use it if rdas have a learning curve.

I just got it. I haven't tried the mod yet other than a test-fire, since my smoant cylon had already shipped. The RDA is only my second RDA ever, and Its fantastic. Thanks for the Kennedy 24. I don't think I'm using my tfv4 RTA deck ever again. Lol.
Took about 20 minutes to learn the difference. I love that the wicks aren't as crucial in rdas. My tfv4, might take several times to wick right. RDAs just work.
Gotta say, you must eat lots of spinach- your screws are super tight. Luckily my screwdriver set had a hex that fit the Kennedy, but my attempts were futile at actually losing the screws. Where did you find .4 claptons? The dual claptons you included come to .2, perfect.

The boreas sounds like the tfv4 I have. Very tricky to wick right.

No spinach lol, I use precision hex tools and screwdrivers that really bite with a proper handle, get a little more torque.

And for the claptons, I make my own coils...I was going to ship up a set then when I popped the top there was a set already installed so it saved me some time.

I never store RDAs or RSAs with wicks in them...takes only a sec to rewick or pull them in this case.

Anyway sir... enjoy them.

Its a flavor chucker when wicked right...much more so than a tfv4 and about twice as large...I have a love hate relationship with that RTA... its either the best damn mid sized RTA out there, or its the absolute worst leaking POS lol

With the TVFV4, I've developed a trick- I overstuff with cotton, but don't close the deck cover all the way. I also leave the wicks so they're protruding slightly from the wick channel. Still can just barely top the premade coils though, except maybe with nichrome.

Can't wait to throw nichrome in the Kennedy and see what it can do. Really want to try four coils in the Kennedy. Compared to the tfv4 it's huge.

I love these claptons. I decided to space them a bit though. Vaping about 80w on .13.

Kennedy's are great. Definitely a game changer over the Smoke. Be careful your Ohms going quad with nichrome.

It's a regulated mod. I'm going to play around with duals, but thinking 4x 10 wraps on a fairly wide gauge. I have 28g kanthal laying around too. Maybe 6 wraps kanthal x4

Plan on getting a mech soon, but stay regulated until I find a coil that I really like,c the wattage, and if it's good vape and safe when I do the math, I'll try it out in the mech.

What metal are these claptons? Steel? I dryburned them and they seemed to rust. Should I change them?

Sorry I should of been more thorough with my other response.

N80 afaik doesn't rust...it will oxidize though and probably what you are seeing.

If after dry burning and letting it cool you can scrub the coils rinse and dry burn again, should remove most of if any oxidation...

And if that doesn't reassure you...slap some new ones in.

For me I go months on a set of coils I make, but I don't Vape above 50w and dry burn at 15w or less, and rewick often
