Oh my God, I've seen it and it's disturbing

Okay, I hate to talk about this subject, but I feel I have to.

I just came back to the hotel I'm staying at after my day's work, when I saw 3 kids hiding behind a bush near the hotel's front door. Guess what they were doing? They were taking turn vaping on a shitty little CE4 starter kit, playing adults, talking big and coughing their lungs out. They couldn't've been much older than 8 years old. I discreetly watched them for a while, until their parents popped out of the hotel and one of them kids promptly hid the e-cig under his coat.

So it does exist after all - I mean, what they say about kids being drawn to e-cigarettes. And remember, this is Finland, where very few people smoke and smoking is totally out of fashion.

I know kids will be kids, and kids try anything forbidden. I know e-cigs are fairly harmless, and what they were vaping was probably no-nic since you can't buy nic juice freely here. And I know they probably won't start smoking real cigarettes as a result. Yes, I know... But I feel deeply disturbed by what I've just seen. It reminds me of yours truly, when we was kids and we was doing the same thing with cigarettes - and I ended up being chained to cigarettes ever since.

I must admit, I haven't seen kids playing smokers in a long time, and it really broke my heart to see it again, especially with kids that were so young - albeit with an e-cig. It really did... Not saying this is a trend, or that it's dangerous, I'm just saying I feel like crap having seen this. I just had to let it out of me, is all...

it happens. as much as I would like for them to not puff E-cig devices, it's the lesser of the two evils. I mean cmon, by the time (some kids) are in high school they will try weed and alcohol as well. You could have either reported it to their parents or just wrote it off as kids will be kids and try anything forbidden. both are acceptable. but I agree it's heartbreaking to see young ones start on a path to hardship when you know there is an easier road to follow by not starting at all.

That is sad. I would have been tempted to rat the kids out to their parents. And ask them to find out who gave them the kit.

as I watch them run scared to death hopefully never doing it agazin

one of two things can happen, they thank you and they will get to the bottom of it....or they tell you to "piss off wanker, these are my kids and they can do what ever they want." I mean we talk about how safe it is so why isn't it safe for kids?

My sister started vaping (non smoker) because her husband started vaping trying to quit cigarettes but when her 12 year old daughter asked if she could do it too she stopped vaping. her argument was if it's safe why can't I do it too?

double edge sword, it's safe for us smokers to use it but it's deadly for non smokers and kids to do it.

My take on it is they are not adults once they turn legal age in the state they live on then they are allowed the choice without parents permission I do agree that for example my 17 year old niece liked to vape candy cane just a few puffs I would put like 1mg nicotine in my batch and hand her a harmless mod.... she is legal age here in Texas I do not see the harm... Its about being legal age.

Firstly, I don't rat on nobody if it ain't none of my business. That's a golden rule in my life.

Secondly, I'm not passing judgement on what they were doing. It just reminds me of the stupid choices I did as a kid, and it saddens me.

Thirdly, blowing huge clouds in front of the kids? Are you fucking kidding me? I don't want them to start vaping in the first place: why would I make them feel like they're part of the club, or show them it's okay, or attract them to more serious vaping equipment? That's so fucking stupid it beggars belief.

EDIT: Sorry I missed the fake dying part. Yes, come to think of it, that is a good idea :)

Did you not read what I said read it again dude!!!!! Kids that get shocked by something they are trying will not do it again and secondly its your responsibioity as an adult to try to pursuade people under age not to being doing things that legal age allows... read it again you did not get it

No sorry needed man its a simple topic once a child reaches legal age and leaves the house there is nothing a parent can do or friend uncle we can talk to them but until they experience it most people do not listen its human history :)

I have no issue with someone of legal age to smoke, to vape if they want. IDGAF.

Kids though, this is real AND fueling the anti's argument. I don't believe kids are doing it because "its safer" or "because of flavors". They just ARE. Likely because of the cool factor OR the nicotine buzz.

Still kids should NOT be vaping. The stigma behind nicotine itself is very bad for vaping. We need these studies and their conclusions BEFORE we start slinging around that it should be fine for kids to vape.

I see high school kids hitting the local B&M's all the time. No carding going on, so why wouldn't they. Even funnier, one local had an article printed off how kids wouldn't waste their money on vaping. Then you watch them come in and do just the opposite of the article.

While using nic SHOULD be a matter of informed choice, that is not the reality we live in.

Who said its fine for kids to vape? you will never get a study done.. There have been thousands of study done on Nicotine it is used from everything from Pesticides to pharmeceticals what testing you think will occur and the outcome is a pipe dream its already been done over and over and over again

The mall cart here had a father get a ce style set up with 24mg juice and hand it to his 6 year old to vape on.
They (the cart) snatched it from the kid refunded the money and put a perma ban on the asshole father.

Too many people, including shop owners, turn a blind eye and act like it's not happening. It is. And the anti's are going to regulate it, because no one else will regulate themselves unless there is a law telling them to.

What studies I am expecting, are studies done on vaping and the affects that clean nicotine have, as well as other components of juice.

Keep wishing my friend understand that PG is teste and approved by the FDA VG is approved , Nicotine is approved most of the flavors are approved by the FDA what do you want? because this senseless debate I have seen coming from all over about testing juice is not going ot happen... Now they may inspect it and test one out of 10000 for known X harmful ingredient but I am amiss and what you want?

Yep. I'll soon be making it to fifty without having caught cancer from it. Others weren't so lucky. Brain damage? Well that's another story.

That is sad. I would have been tempted to rat the kids out to their parents. And ask them to find out who gave them the kit.

Sadly I don't think that would have solved anything.. they would just be more sneaky about it..

when my parents caught me smoking and I got in trouble - I just went through greater lengths to hide it - and the fact that they were telling me I couldn't do something - made me want to do it even more..

The kids were under ten? Not cool. I'd prefer my kids not use any drugs or inhale any smoke, vapor, whatever, until their bodies and brains are fully matured. I'd rather their body's grow naturally without unnecessary interference from unnecessary substances. Forget what any law says. Once their grown, I hope they avoid addiction and use safe-ish substances in moderation and in a responsible manner. A law which is words put on a piece of paper by someone else is irrelevant to my opinion of what's best for my kids. No way an eight year old should be vaping. Sad.

Kids are idiots. We were idiots when we were kids. Somehow we made it past stages where we would do idiotic things and survived. So in short, kids are going to try stupid things, its not a new fad.

The huff of choice when I was young was trichloroethylene. Thankfully, I only did it a couple of times too. That shit is nasty.

Well, there are some idiots out there. A vape shop opened up down the road. I was talking to the owns when his 3 year old comes out. Ok, his kid was there, no big deal right? Wrong, he sits his kid up at the counter. The kid reaches over to the test rack, picks up a ego and puts it in his mouth. I said dude, you may want to grab your kid. The lady at the counter grabbed it as the kid took a puff. The guy took the ego from the girl working counter and handed it back to the kid. The guy said its no Nic and he doesn't inhale it. He likes the taste he is fine. It was the girls first day. She said really? He said at least he isn't smoking and he wont be a smoker. The girl said, he is 3 you're teaching him its fine. Why don't you just hand him a bowl and a lighter and say, hey don't light this. The kids tried to inhale and choked. I walked out doing my best not to punch the SOB in the mouth and the girl fallowed me out. It was her first and last day.

Just because you can't stop kids from doing stupid shit doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Especially when they're your own.

My friends and I were bad kids. At 13 we smoked cigarettes, wxxd and drank. Hell by 14-15 we were dropping xxxx and doing about everything else. No mxth or xxxxx, nothing like that. Maybe some cxke here and there.

Moral of this story, there were bad kids doing bad stuff way before vaping.

I turned out fine in the end I have a college degree, so screw my highschool teachers and stigma's. :)
