Vape Juice Types & Diabetes (Blood Sugar Levels)

HI

I am diabetic, and was slack before, not testing sugar level for weeks.

Around 6 months back my sugar levels were between 7.5 to 11, fasting over night.

A few days back my levels were around 15 (shocking), for 3 mornings in a row.

I used to measure before vaping.
(vaping sweet flavours, fruits ice)

This morning I measured before vaping, and it was 10.

Does anyone have any experience with this ?

If there are diabetic vapours, maybe we could compare notes over a few months, and benefit from it. Regards
flavour or non flavour eliquids.

For diabetes high sugar level is probably worse than smoking cigarettes.

Thanks

There are many threads about this (here, or more likely over on ECF that I don't post on anymore). From what I recall vaping had no effect on blood sugar numbers for those who vaped.

Your diet is the most likely culprit for the change, even day to day or month to month. If I were you I would research Ketogenic or Carnivore diets. Both have been shown to help diabetics. I don't have diabetes but I switched from keto to carnivore 6 months ago and love it. No more allergy meds and no more stenosing tenosyvitis symptoms.

Im pretty sure some artificial sweeteners affect your blood sugar. Mannitol, sorbitol and xylitol do for certain. There are studies suggesting other may as well. It would be reasonable to assume it could in fact happen.

I had 1/2 my pancreas removed about ten years ago, the doctor said I would be taking insulin the rest of my life. I did like he said for a few years. Was taking usually 40-50 units of long acting insulin a day, and whatever I needed in fast acting insulin...usually 30+ units a day.

Then I found the plant based diet. I no longer take any insulin, and feel ten years younger. I can vape any juice (I like the taste of) without raising my glucose level.

It's not what you vape, it's what you eat....:deadhorse:

I watched a LOT of Dr Michael Greger (and other) videos, he's kind of a pro on vegan diets. Google vegan diets, and search for info from actual doctors, there is a wealth of info available on the interweb and videos.

https://nutritionfacts.org/ is a good start, he has a shitload of info and videos.

Those artificial sweeteners *might* have some effect on blood sugar... IF YOU EAT/DRINK THEM. Breathing the vapor into your lungs, or even just into your mouth/nose/throat, is unlike to have any effect whatever on your blood sugar.

Does alcohol, applied topically, have any effect on blood sugar? I don't really know to be honest; I know it turns into some form of sugar when ingested, and can play serious hell with diabetics, but I haven't ever heard anything about topical effects of alcohol. The artificial sweeteners mentioned above, and also propylene glycOL and glycerOL (PG and VG) are a type of alcohol, but since they are not ingested with vaping, merely inhaled, I see no reason for any of them to do anything to the blood glucose level.

I am diabetic type 2 and asked my specialist nurse about this and they told me that vaping sweet ejuices does not effect the sugar levels at all. Hope this helps.

Ive talked to quite a few folks over the years about one huge reason i started vaping was to stop eating all the candys and fruits and all i loved since im type 2 diabetic and i have never seen a raise in my blood sugar cause of vaping. I been away from vaping for a while but just getting back into it. just ordered some new juices all mine are over 2 years old.
